My mom and I actually know Megan and her mother! Incredible story... One thing I do want to point out something that Hollywood changed! Megan didn't join the military due to whatever reason the movies says, she joined because of 9/11.
Unfortunately, pieces of this movie are very Hollywood manipulated but the movie still looks mostly accurate to what actually happened.

QweebleTV is this the same Rex from the book Sgt Rex? I know that the other Marine handler from the book had a dog named Rex, which he had given up his rights to the dog for another Marine
If she joined because of 9/11, why did they change that? Hate when they do that.
Of course some people will have known her in real life, so it's not hard to believe one of those people might comment.
Every person who's owned a dog knows how important this film is gonna be.

JakeValentineStory I'm only 15 so please dont get mad as I am not very well informed about the military, but I thought marines and any person who carries a gun in the military is a soldier
I have a German shepherd. He is a complete mammas boy. He is very stubborn with others but a completely different dog with me. When with me, he is protective, obedient, confident and yet gentle. Anyone who has a German Shepherd knows how smart,intelligent and stubborn they are. Maybe it’s because of their personality that when they bond with someone, they bond for life. I can’t stop my tears watching this.
I thought the dog died and started crying so hard but then i saw the rest of the trailer and still couldn't stop crying.

When Common said, “He is not “my dog” or “your dog”. He is a Marine.” I lost it there. Simple but a fitting tribute to our beloved canine in the armed forces.

M.D. Franklin: It is sooo much more than honoring Ms. Leavey. I'm going to guess that to honor her would be to honor the service dogs of war. The dogs are classified as "equipment" and are left behind. There are MANY of them. WHY??!!! The philosophy of leaving the dogs behind MUST be changed. Let us work toward that. In doing so, it would be a heck of a tribute to Ms. Leavey. It can be called the Megan Leavey Law.

Bill "In 2000, “Robby’s Law” was passed that facilitates “the adoption of retired military working dogs by law enforcement agencies, former handlers of these dogs, and other persons capable of caring for these dogs.” Save-A-Vet is one organization that helps find suitable homes for K-9 veterans." And "in 2016 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) was passed. Previously handlers who wanted to bring a dog home after their tour of duty was over could do so, but they had to pay for the transportation, which is very expensive. This act mandates the return of retiring military working dogs to U.S. soil and the first rights of adoption go to former handlers and their families."

Two of my favorites in one single movie, a marine and a dog. I hope this movies gains success to show how important those two are inherited in our lives.
I just finished watching this movie. Definitely worth the two hours of emotion and joy brought to me by this film. Appreciate ya'll pet while ya'll can.

Sometimes movies are fun because they’re entertaining, and other times movies are so powerful that they earn a little place in our hearts; Megan Leavey is, of course, the latter. #2019
Hachiko-a dog story ,Togo ,Eight below and this one- films l cried like a child! I love dogs very much, l have four of them ,and if something can make me cry....is this! Love, courage, special connection with humans and so many other qualities those creatures have- most of us can learn so much from them! Respect to this wonderful animals!❤
This was the first 2+ minute ad that I could have skipped, but actually watched all the way through.

This is a 5 star and based on a true story.
I understand her attachment to her trained dog.
I grew up in a family that trained dogs to track/field
and obedience in dog shows. At age 12, I started
training & showing our dog Dee Dee. When I was 15,
my father gave her to his girlfriend without me knowing.
I was crushed. Still to this day, I cry for the loss of
Dee Dee.
Megan's attachment is even stronger with what they went through.
Kudos to bravery and determination to save her BEST friend!

This was still a great film. Hatchi is great too, just next level with the emotion.
They should have started wrapping up the trailer as they were approaching the vehicle. I actually don't understand why trailer creators summarize every Act of the entire movie.
Exactly a good trailer should entice enough to garner interest in the whole work (just like abstracts to articles or the text on the back of a book do), not summarize the entire work
The trailer for Dunkirk did this very well.
FINALLY!!! THIS movie is sooo needed. That the dogs are treated as "equipment" and left behind breaks my heart. The dogs that are left behind DO NOT then go on to live happy lives.

Army servicemembers are soldiers, Navy servicemembers are sailors, Air Force servicemembers are airmen, and Marine Corps servicemembers are Marines. I'm not attempting to be a jackass, just trying to tactfully correct you so that you don't make the same mistake in the future

This broke my heart on how Good it is! i cant wait to see it. I have my own German shepherd and i know he would do the same! this would make people realize, dogs are a mans best friend and they are very loyal to the person they love.

I was in tears. I was a little girl who wanted to be a dog handler in the military and I can't even think of ever doing it. Rex died in 2012, which is so unfortunate. I hate to sound like a hippy but I wish there was no war. We use people who have lives, their personal struggles, etc. And then animals.
I'm glad to see she had a supposedly happy ending with him. I couldn't imagine waking up without my best friend and hero at the hospital. I met a (or my mother and stepfather have) woman who is a veteran and got a service dog. He's incredibly sweet and she allows people to pet him during her physical therapy. I don't think I'll watch it because if I couldn't even watch the trailer without crying the movie will be the death of my tear glands.

Her connection to that dog I am reminded of how Robert Heinlein wrote in the book Starship Troopers how close the bond between the handlers and the caleb or K-9 unit is. This should be a great movie.

I believe and praise this woman and especially her dog. Its heroic and we should show this movie to the whole world in order to appreciate it. People don't know most of the time what good things dog can bring. Its a magnificent, courageous and loving dog.

Watched the film yesterday. Brilliant to watch and well executed! The bond between human and dog is the most beautiful thing ever. I wonder how the real Veteran Corporal Megan Leavey coped with Rex's passing in 2012. That was six years ago!

I am happy to have been apart of the set of this movie. I see myself at 01:56 in the background as a Secret Service Agent. this was shot at the U.S. Customs Federal Courthouse in Charleston.

I liked the entire movie, but the relationship between Megan and her dog sometimes nearly brought tears to my eyes. I love stories like this.The best movie which i did find using boxxy software- great service for free!

My Dad always had a German Shepherd. The last one he had he rescued from the pound. He got him looking so good after 3 years. My Dad found him dead by his dog house a few later and we think someone poisoned him.That was the last German Shepherd he had.

I've NEVER connected to the final line of a trailer more than this. I see myself in Megan and Timber in Rex and I'm sure many pet owners feel the same about their own.

Like others have said, if you spoil the entire movie, I won't be bothering to go see it. You literally even showed the ending when she is reunited with her dog. SO SURPRISING.
Just goes to show that people don't deserve dogs. They do so much and so many people just see them as expendable tools. She is an awesome person!

My dog passed away on Halloween 2023. Every single day is a new pain I go through.
A friend asked me if Nunu (my dog's name) was here, what would I say to him. Just like Megan's answer. I have to thank him. He taught me what love is.
