Hiya! I'm a miner since 2017. You had a question about open air frame vs closed. I have always been into open air, built my own frames from wood (which I still use today). Being on a budget is the best, because the frames doesn't pay for them self. I have always built cheapest possible. Now and then. That's includes risers, power supply etc. Well I buy a couple of more expensive PSUs in 2018-2019 which I still have today. 1600 and 1300 W. But other than that, I have "mainstream" PSUs and cheap as risers bought in like 2018. Wasn't mining for a long peroid of time (after the merge of ETH), but built a mixed rig of AMD & Nvidia rig a couple of weeks ago, with GPUs I still had laying around.
Been mining Zephyr (CPU), Alephium and Karlsen mostly.
No plan of expanding or buying anything new. Still selling of some older GPUs like Vega 56 and RX 4x0/5x0 series. And selling a RTX 3060 Ti right of the mines today :)
Well you could certainly use the heat in that garage. It all depends on wether you want to take profits or not. I know you want to hold onto your coins so I would turn off your least yielding KAS miner and turn on some more gpu rigs to accumulate more coin. And it’s actually pretty good weather wise down here in Tampa…though it could always be a little cooler

Stacking the Radiant currently. The low power and low difficulty currently works really well with my off grid solar/battery energy budget during these short daylight days in winter.

You gotta pay to play. No fretting about power if you are making money 🤷♂️. That said open a dry cleaner and use the miner heat to dry clothes😆

What is your hydro rate? I'm in Toronto, it's -1 degrees right now. I'm not sure about a lot of these small coins. Solana is booming right now. I know it can't be mined but unmineable can pay you in SOL and can stake it for at least 5%.

@@DjMines I didn't understand your joke or was it a joke? In the video you did say you pay a lot for hydro and you're in NY, from Google "The average residential electricity rate in New York is 21 ¢/kWh". At least it's not as bad as Chumpchange's 30cents. My rate is 6.5-14¢/kwh depending on time of day. If I only mine at night and weekends it's 6.5¢.

For 1 I would duct that heat inside. Heat is heat, no sense in pumping it outside. 2, with your electric rate, I'd invest in solar. It should pay for itself in no time even in the north. Something to look into and crunch the numbers on anyway.
Mined bitcoin back in 2012 and never sold it, can't find it anymore. Been back to mining since beginning of last bull run.
Thanks for sharing. Solar would cost me probably 20k+. I think to get that 20k back, i would need 7 years+
@@DjMines Look into the federal and state incentives and wright offs too. People I know that install them always talk about how almost half is covered or something crazy like that at the end of the day. They always talk about how the panels last decades now and are much better than they use to be too. But I have no experience in them personally, but definitely worth looking into I think.
When the interest rates come down and I build my house I'm looking to get about 20k worth in solar for crypto mining. Also planning on ducting all the heat throughout the house to heat the place (live in northern Wis). Just doing a 20x40 or so with a basement nothing fancy.
Not new, but I'm not going to spend the money on octominers. Just not worth it unless I had 100's of GPU's and needed space.
Im not so new, but i still can't afford octominers lol... Got 3 kso, 1 ipollo v1 mini, 1 v1 mini classic... Then i got 2 5700xt, 2 1660s, 1 1060 6g and 1 1050 ti.... Just not sure what to put them on... (.13 per kwh).. im originally from upstate NY myself...lol..now down south in NC, not in the 70s here lol

No i am mining sence 2019 and iam still in open frames 😁 i am transection to asics also , but only BTC and a couple of kso o pro that are mining at 310 gh with a firmware upgraded , i am now at 1,2 th on kaspa " and all the asics that i have now was bought with all the profits i have made when i mine kaspa with my gpu ´s " ... now i mine what is more profit and enchanege to alephium , radiant , nexa , and a couple of others and spec 2 more coins that are in the making but only in linux for now ... keep the great work and greetings from Portugal

Gpu mining is not profitable anymore, better to buy coins and trade
It's profitable to mine right now. If you have $0.10 average hydro rate, profits will be about double the hydro bill. It depends if buying is better. If we are in a bull run, it's better to buy the coin. If we are not in a bull run, might be better to mine.
