So what mileage does the “new” DIC show?
That of the donor car or of the car it’s going into?
And if this requires a reflash at the dealer, what does that cost?
It will show the mileage from the donor, price to flash it will vary depending on where you have it done, but if you find one thats close you wont have to.

The 5 button D.I.C is indeed an easy and badass mod. One of my favorite mods for my 05.

I wish youd went over the compass module more, how to wire it in if the wire isnt there from the factory. All the forums seem to have become defunct...
that's a cool video with some good info , but the first bezel that was on the car shows lower mileage than the other one

It stores the miles. You can have it flashed to match your pcm at a dealer

I did this upgrade very cool so u also know if u could take a steering wheel with radio controls and it work like factory I had a 07 impala cop car I did it to but didn’t know on this car

At night when I use either reverse, drive etc. I can see what shift I am on.

There is no light at the shifter, but it should show the gear for a second on the info display

why not move the outside air temp to the airbox so you can monitor intake temps?

Just finished doing this mod to my 06 base model. I didn't know the compass hook up isn't there and I bought a compass off of ebay. Is there somewhere else the compass connector could be? Maybe they added it but just didn't fully route it?

The compass hookup is there on a lot of the cars just not everyone of them so yours might be there
I have a 2006 Grand Prix base, and in the trunk he tried to find the harness for the compass, disassemble the seats and can’t find any connection for the compass, do you know anything about that?
Some of the earlier models dont have the harness. My 05 didnt.

@@arcentalesnoel you could probably wire it in, but would need the harness from a junk yard.
My DIC screen doesn't show anything! (Blank screen) Could I just replace it or would I need to purchase a new computer! Help me please
Could be a bad dic or a comunication issue with the car. They can be purchased for cheap at junk yards if you need one to test with

I got a question my gear shift bulb light went off for no reason at all, I replaced the bulb and it still didn't come back on. I was wondering do you know what else it could be.

There's a way to get it re-flashed to enable remote start from the dealer, but they have to use a VIN code activation from an already remote start capable VIN chassis. (aka, break some rules) So you need to have a good buddy at a dealer.

So, how would I go about resetting my information control center. It keeps reading reduced engine power, and for some reason it's not wanting to take gas or anything. I changed the throttle body, and everything on it I could think it could be. I really need some helpful advice please?!?
If it is still reading it. There is still a problem. Check the pedal anf wiring
@@SalemDoyle what would be or is there a simple way, cheap way to go about doing this? See, when it first started doing, I could be going down the road cruising and then the reduced power engine light would come up and it wouldn't get gas or something. So, I put it on a tester, and it said something about 2 of the valves had a open air flow on it or something???? What ya think?
@@alishatidwell397 There is a message to get ahold of a pedal assembly from a junkyard for cheap you could just swap in to see if it fixes your problem otherwise you need to look at the wiring near the pig tails and see if any of it is broken or you find in these shorts
Evap system and tps sensor possibly. Get a cheap scan tool it will tell u everything u need to fix it yourself. Try it can't hurt
Same problem and I changed from a 5 button to a 3 button I might need to change back to a 5 button it's shoot out a code u0107 and draining my battery ths might be my problem

Ha Salem just started watching your vid love them man. but the ? is I had the whole back deck off of my 08 grand pix base trying to fine the wire for the compass and can not fine it and I don't want to start cutting tape off the wires any idea about where it should be at. thank you

Hey man did motor swap with the ecu everything is hook up on the motor dash lights all work but when trying to start motor I got nothing no rekay ckicks nothing my dash so lit up but my hud goes out ..I'm just wonder with different ecu does it need reprograming the ecu for new key it's 2000gtp shell and key ...2001 gtp motor tranny and ecu .. is it the vats .....great clip man ....cheers
I would. Heck vats, the ecu has to match the key or be programmed for it

Not all models. But for most of them
I did the 3 to 5 button switch, but of course it has the mileage from the new DIC I put in, which is about 90,000 miles off. Anyway to reprogram that?
I'm seeing the other comments now about reprograming it. Where would I go to do that?

It will display the mileage from the module. If you want it to match the car it will have to be programmed
My compass sensor failed on 05 GTP. I found a new one on the web for around $35. Last week I replaced the car battery, now my in dash clock is blank. I go into the nav system, Menu, to set it and the option is disabled. Everything else works. Any ideas guys?

@@SalemDoyle Radio, DIC all work. Just no clock. BTW, I do have the OEM 5 button DIC. In the clock screen I have no option (now) for 24 hr or Source, or Daylight savings. They are disabled. I wondered if I was missing my GPS input, but Nav works. And the clock worked prior to replacing the battery.

I have a 01 and I got the zzp 1.0 ecu and now my dic doesn't work.. Everything else is amazing besides that

What causes ABS, Traction Control, and few other things to stay on and not work? I have the o5 GTP GrandPrix.
Usually wheel bearings, but you need to have the codes pulled
@@SalemDoyle I bought the car with the lights on and I've been fixing it up. Will the wheel bearings cause the T.C. to stay on and not work,also are they located in the back? On the wheels in the back? I really want it fixed before Winter, I need to teach my son to drive, but I want everything working properly. Thanks.
@@SalemDoyle I have a OBD II Code reader.
It says Service Traction Control,Service ABS System, Service Traction System,Service Variable Effort Steering( rubber boots on rack and pinion need replaced), Service Break System, Check Tire Pressure( didn't pop up til I had oil changed and they are the people that said the rack and pinion rubber boot on each side was busted. Wasn't busted when they done work replacing seals and coolant line for transmission fluid to stop leaking. I also had a new Hub Assembly put on the passenger side(front). It doesn't run hot, but code P0128 pulled: Coolant Temp Below Thermostat Regulating Temp, P0420 pulled: Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1. Only 2 codes pulled.
@@SalemDoyle Also meant to tell you the lights will go off sometimes when I crank the car and stay off til I hit a bump and pop back on. It's supposed to crank and warm in the Winter, but the ABS light being on stop it from activating that feature.

just got my poly engine mounts, the dog bone & the ones behind the bone {dont know the name} but no instructions on how to install them, I saw your Dog Bone installion vid can you help me: also I'm getting the zzp header down pipe full exhust but want to keep the factory tips, how would the effect the performance and sound any thoughts would help...
Factory tips will be fine. And i have videos on both the poly mount installs
