Would I be able to use this to melt down copper and metal from bikes?

How is it holding up?.... I like the same castings better than the mold... for coins I could get into this method.... Have you been doing this for some time now?
I have made about 10 of them they last for about 20 firings and then they start to deteriorate but the double strength concrete ones that you saw me used today in my copper pour have lasted for ages👍 and I don’t use moulds any more only sand casting thanks for watching my friend💛😎👍

here in america in a motor manuel in the section of how to replace the fanbelt,step 1 is shut off engine.

because there are idiots in the world,and tho i might have shaken the mold without gloves or some sort of grabber to get the puter all seteled

I think that an instructional video on whatever it is should be narrated, but over here in the United States no narration and usually some goofy disco jumping music on a loop has become the norm. Puteris a really easy metal to pour it makes for a good starting point into metals it’s melting temperature is around 400 with silver and gold are jumping up into about 1000c 👍

I might have forgotten a few steps along the way but I hope you ended up working out how to do it the next video shows you how to prepare the Crucible with Borax powder to glaze the surface ready for silver👍 thanks again man for your support most appreciated👍

G’day Dennis the Crucible worked perfect for about the first 10 pours and then after that the very thin top on the Crucible started to crumble so if you do make one make the top edge of the crucible at least 10mm thick.I made a second one it is much strong and works perfectly, it needs to be perfectly dry before you glaze it👍

Tomoko's Enterprize I glaze the Crucible in the part two and it melted silver really well I’ll put a video up on that soon.👍

You make it look so easy!! I may give this a try. Video was fine, but I understand wanting better equipment. Would that crucible withstand the heat in a Devil Forge propane furnace to melt silver? Or is it just for the lower melting point pewter? You said that material would withstand 1,000 degrees - I assume you mean Celsius?? Thanks mate!

It really is a good Crucible to I’ve made three so far and after about 10 or 15 pours with copper they start and crack a little bit but for the cooler melting metals it is perfect💛👍

Thank you for your comment and support i really appreciate it.👍 if you do happen to make a Crucible out of high temperature mortar make it thicker around the top of the Crucible because after about 10 firings it starts to crumble if you make it about a centimetre lip around the top of the Crucible it will last for a long time make sure you glaze it before you use it 👍

I wondered what kind of metal "pewter" is. When I saw your video I instantly thought that must be tin.
For Germans tin is more common because it is similar to the German word zinn 👍👍👍

Thank you for your Question pewter is about 91 percent tin, 7.5 percent antimony, and 1.5 percent copper; the absence of lead makes it safe to use for dishes and drinking vessels.

I melted silver in it about 10 times and the top started to crumble so I’ve made a new one with the sides and it is much stronger and perfect no problem so far👍
