The frame rail patches were a work of art, Greg! The stretch and shrink process is fascinating. Really enjoying the Porsche 356 restoration series. Rock on!
Thanks Tom. There's a lot of work involved to get them right.
Sometimes it may not seem like much work is getting accomplished but it's rewarding to look at it when you done and think "That really came out Good"😀👍
Thank you! It does seem slow sometimes, but slow is smooth and smooth is fast!
Baby steps, then you see the light. Nice Greg.
You sure have that right! Thanks Randy.
Great to watch your process, I will begin doing the exact work myself on my 356. Will be watching this over and over as a reference.
Oh man! Are you going to put any vids on YT? I'll be following along if you do.
Those were some tricky pieces Greg, looking good.
Tricky for SURE!
Really complex little sections you made on the frame rail. It turned out great from what I could see.
Thanks John! I am pretty happy with the result.
Really nice work Greg! 😎 That's looks like a tough section to fab.
No doubt! I just saw your video with your kick shrinker/stretcher setup... I know you know the power that tool can have!!!
Lots of detailed work putting this puzzle back together. Nice work.
Thanks Russ! I know you've been there before.
Excellent work like the others said those were complicated shapes and you made it look easy
Thank you sir!!! As you know; it sure does take a lot of time for these little bits to come together.
That’s some good looking work Greg!
Thanks Marsh!
Nice work 😁. I will be following this 356 restoration 🙂
Perfect! Looking good, Well done as always.
Thanks Gary!
Nice work Greg
Thanks Tom! Chipping away!!!
Delicate concentration required, looking good.
Yes, yes and yes.
This is a crazy 3d puzzle that you have to make your own pieces
That's a good way to put it Brian!
One step at a time. Thanks for the vids. 🌄🎩
You are 100% right! Thank you brother!
Holy Moley! That was hard work. Incredible how these cars and ‘59 Chevys seem to attract rust….🤣
LOL! 100%. I guess a lot can happen over the course of 60 years!
Nice work!
Thanks Matt!
Greg,, you sure do like a project buddy… 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I love a good puzzle!
getting it done !
Yessir!!!!
What? Don't let your meat loaf. Slacker. Lol. Love the videos
LOL! I need to add that in for all the OG guys!!! Thanks brother.
Progress!
One bite at a time brother!
👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Gib!
greg, do you have a plasma cutter? i've only recently got one (55amp Chinese one) and boy what a great tool to have as a bodyman, would be ideal for cutting out the awkward rusted out sections, crazy i never thought of getting one in the 30 years prior
any of the 50amp pilot arc ones around the $200 mark will do what you need, one i got was the plasmargon one which uses compresses air and electricity will easily cut 12mm , sheet body panels are like nothing to these things, would have saved me a ton of time and cutting materials
if ya got one, well heads up.
looking very good so far
I do have one. It's a hypertherm model. I bought it years ago when plasma cutters were still expensive!!! I used it to cut out some of the mud guards and a few other pieces. I've used it on some weird fabrication as well. When I take the pans out of the floor, it will be my main tool.
Good to hear from you! I hope things are well.
Grind bend shrink stretch weld repeat ....
You forgot the swearing part!
Are you using 18ga or 20ga sheet metal?
Both. The structural panels are mostly 18. The body sections are 20. The OG metal is 19 from what I can tell. There are a few areas that are thinner than that, but it may be the fact they were blasted.
@@GregsGarage I have started using 18 as well. Very hard to cut. You made it look easy. Lol
