We did a cruise beach excursion at Falmouth Jamaica. The beach was surrounded by a wall topped with barbed wire, and there was an armed guard on the beach... Jamaica is not the island that you want to explore on your own either...
I don't mind either, have a Mexican Riviera booked in March and Alaska in September. As for Haiti, I hope people are reading their Travel Insurance Policies as most will be Voided if there is a travel advisory warning people 'Not to Travel' as is currently in place.
I just got off the Disney Treasure yesterday. It was a beautiful ship. We went four hours off the route to rescue the catamaran. It was a bit rough sailing but satisfying to help those people.
Definitely B. We cruise to get away from the cold of the north. I honestly don't care what the port of calls are. There is always something to see or just walk around the towns. We've been eastern, western and southern Caribbean. For me, it's the journey.
Unfortunately no Labadee for our family. We enjoyed Labadee when it was safe. But this time around Royal Caribbean should skip that port until the country gains back some stability.
The only way I would book a cruise going to Haiti is a free cruise, and I'm not getting off the ship when in port. I thought it was irresponsible for RC to start porting in Haiti again. The only reason for this would be stockholders and the huge investment they made there, which at this point was a mistake.
We are booked on a RC cruise stopping at labadee in January. Really hoping they cancel the stop, would be fine with even just another sea day. Probably not getting off ship if they do stop. Survey...WARM for sure!
It is safe, it is located in a tourist town far away from the capital, where the gang violence is. Furthermore, RC leased that part of the island and has it secured where no one can enter. They have cameras and guards everywhere.
B-Hot. However, I did love my Alaska cruise a couple years ago. I was at Labadee not to long ago and felt safe. However, with what happened this past week I think it would make people less nervous if they shut down that port once again.
I went to Amber Cove (in neighboring Dominican Republic) a couple of days after a large scale prison break in March 2024. Even though the prisoners were from Haiti, I was very concerned of going out of the port area due to the possibility of trouble. There is absolutely NO WAY I would go to any part of Haiti at this point of time, and I feel it is irresponsible of Royal Caribbean to continue to call on Labidee.
@@bonniecochran8644 you have to realize level 2 is good … other countries have most US cities way above level two.. the Bahamas 🇧🇸 is pretty safe . Especially for tourist it’s really safe

One thing you can count on without fail, is that where ever large numbers of people gather to have fun, thugs will also arrive with the purpose of spoiling the fun.
I took my RC to Labadee fron nov 7th to 11th. On Saturday we ported at Labadee. I felt very safe. Went on a bus with casual holstered security who stayed with us as we ziplined. I then later went into the market. We were pressured by the locals to buy their wares. One of the women told me they had no income for 7 months and we are the 3rd boat for the men to try to get income from. I did enjoy the beach and water. There are no fish left as the haitians have pretty much got them all. I bought the Key which gave me access to a beach spot closer to the boat. Again, i felt very safe. I went without my husband but with friends. We all had a great time. The cruise ship did tell us before going on land to just be aware of our surroundings. .
I have plans on the "Jewel of the Seas" to go to Labadee next year. I trust Royal Caribbean will cancel the port if it is dangerous. I will also monitor your news to determine if I will get off the ship.
We were on the Symphony of the Seas in March 2024. Royal decided, at that time , to bypass Labadee and spend the day at sea and go to Nassau instead, and because of that, I believe Royal does stay on top of the situation there.
Unfortunately, right now I would not take a cruise with a stop in Labadee. It presents as too much of a target rich environment. It's too bad because Labadee is a nice private island.
A and B. As long as I’m on a cruise going somewhere, I’m happy. Happy belated Veteran’s Day to you both. Thank you for your many years of keeping us safe and free. ❤🇺🇸
While on RC we stopped in Labadee last January and it was an excellent beach day and experience. Our next 6 day cruise in February is scheduled there so this might be a day we stay on the ship if they don’t divert. I’d be ok with a different destination.
I was on the Diamond Princess from oct 5th-19th and people were sick then too... everyone was asked to disembark at Melbourne (my cruise ended there). I didn't know I had it until I got home. I seriously believe its in the air ducts.

My wife and I went on four cruises this year. (1 Celebrity and 3 Royal Caribbean) We came home sick every single time.. Not "majorly" sick... I mean, no fevers, but cough's, stuffy noses and lots of mucus...and we washed our hands religiously whilst onboard.
Our Norwegian fall colors cruise erupted into the Cough and Hack Fest in September. Have we forgotten to cover our mouths when coughing? Stay out of public when sick? It seemed to be a big no and I got a cold out of it.

We’re on a cruise to Labadee in Feb.. not only will be staying on the ship but #1, no further $ will be spent on that cruise and #2, we will be looking for a new cruise line. If our safety doesn’t mean anything to them then our cruise dollars obviously don’t mean anything either.
