The only way I would book a cruise going to Haiti is a free cruise, and I'm not getting off the ship when in port.
I thought it was irresponsible for RC to start porting in Haiti again. The only reason for this would be stockholders and the huge investment they made there, which at this point was a mistake.

Even though the prisoners were from Haiti, I was very concerned of going out of the port area due to the possibility of trouble. There is absolutely NO WAY I would go to any part of Haiti at this point of time, and I feel it is irresponsible of Royal Caribbean to continue to call on Labidee.

I took my RC to Labadee fron nov 7th to 11th. On Saturday we ported at Labadee. I felt very safe. Went on a bus with casual holstered security who stayed with us as we ziplined. I then later went into the market. We were pressured by the locals to buy their wares. One of the women told me they had no income for 7 months and we are the 3rd boat for the men to try to get income from. I did enjoy the beach and water. There are no fish left as the haitians have pretty much got them all. I bought the Key which gave me access to a beach spot closer to the boat. Again, i felt very safe. I went without my husband but with friends. We all had a great time. The cruise ship did tell us before going on land to just be aware of our surroundings.

Labadee is on the other side of the country from Port au Prince. The roads to get there are slow and arduous. The Royal destination is a walled off peninsula. If it was not a problem last week, last year nothing of significance has changed in Haiti except your awareness so its fine. Labadee itself is beautiful. Thick forested mountains spill straight into the dark blue ocean. It was a highlight of many of my cruises, the first time much to my surprise. There are few destinations in a caribbean cruise with a more dramatic vista.

A - we are hooked in cold weather cruise. Nice to get cozie in the ship, when you can do Iceland and Greenland and Norway, it’s life changing 😊

I like both, I like getting out of my northern Midwest locale and getting into the sunshine, but I just want to go everywhere!

I just returned on Monday from a RCL cruise to Labadee. There were no issues but if the gang violence had happened last week, I would have walked away from my cruise there.

I'm booked for a 4 day that ports at Labadee next week. I decided to rent an onboard "casita" for the day (thanks to black Friday sales) instead of going on shore. I wouldn't mind if they cancel and provide a full refund but if it sails, I won't be getting off the ship!

I got on the Diamond Princess in Melbourne for their recent cruise.we couldnt get on til after 3pm. The whole crew worked hard for us to stay well.they were cleaning day n night. I heard that they were more worried about the influenza outbreak, than the gastro outbreak. Hubby n i didn't catch anything, from our cruise on Diamond.

We’re on a cruise to Labadee in Feb.. not only will be staying on the ship but #1, no further $ will be spent on that cruise and #2, we will be looking for a new cruise line. If our safety doesn’t mean anything to them then our cruise dollars obviously don’t mean anything either.

    On Labadee Haiti...
In my opinion..from what I read/ hear about Haiti, it has not been a safe place for quite some time.
Last I knew, special troops had come there from Kenya- to help...
Before that, maybe a year or two ago- criminals were doing bad things- some carrying machete's..
I think some of the locals have been flown to U.S...
I am taking my first- ever cruise to Perfect Day Coco Cay Bahamas.
End of 2025- am going to 1 colder place: New England/ Halifax and 1 warm place- back to Perfect Day Cococay....
Would I choose to go to Haiti? No Way..
I don't know the conditions at the port or airport- but its just a matter of time- before things turn for the worst there...
Unless something changes, to make it better...
There are other places I would not visit for at least another year- just watch to see if political & warring conditions improve....

Thoughts on Labadee. When I went the kayak tour guide was so thankful that we were there and told us that our tourist dollars really do a lot to help the locals. So as long as the security is ultra tight on the private area then I dont see why they should stop going but it will need to be on a day by day monitoring basis. Now excursions on the other hand should stop especially if they leave or are exposed to the non secure areas.

For safety reasons, I would NEVER ever get on a cruise ship that stops at ports that may put my and my family life in danger.
