My headcanon for this; This is claudette's subconscious limbo, after she perished this is where she woke up, on a holiday resort ready to retire herself to, but she couldn't get away from the undead slaughter, and so to truly earn her holiday, she has to clear the island.
Watching this man recreate my mistakes on Kingsmouth step by step was extremely funny. We had the exact same thought process on how to deal with things. Only difference is when I got to the park and realized how many zombies there were I gave up on crossing the bridge. I found a sledgehammer in a construction site, used it to break down the fence around the military base, walked all the way around the island following the shore and ended up at the light house in the top right corner. It was a survivor house! But when I climbed the light house a zombie at the top surprised me and bit my head. 😂😂😂😂

@@caleblyons560 This is the first video I watched on this channel so I thought that was either an inside joke or somehow the vest can be crafted into duct tape (I also haven't played this game except the tutorial). It's so much funnier knowing it was an accident.
Really love the map. The single cabin in middle of island really fitting claudette personality. It even got fishing deck ready. Love the layout n the design.
Didn't notice the duffel bag on the dead zombie at 19:39 :) The reason loot is so crap is that melee weapons are set to extremely rare in this challenge. Guns and ammo are more abundant than usual though, so I'm looking forward to see what's in the military base!
You know after Claudette survived getting set on fire and finding the cure for the zombie plague. She would not need to deal with this stuff any more but NOOO someone had to go and get themselves into a massive wreck with the cure in there vehicle which just so happened to be a fuel tanker causing the cure to go up in flames on the way to the distribution center.
Cool to see the island challenge make an appearance! Claudette just wants a nice vacation after all she's done. I do hope she locates some sunglasses though, definitely suit her for this place.
Honestly, learning when to give up on loot is one of the keys to surviving Zomboid. Its a hard lesson to learn, because we convince ourselves the risk is worth it. It rarely is.
"and that's how you take out the trash" me: just immediately heart broken over the last playthrough still. I love PZ so much - the different play styles it allows and the stories that you can come up with
I always loved this map. The first time I played on it I didn’t realize how populated the resort area was so after find no good loot in the start area I jumped straight in and died a lot.
You're probably way past this in your actual playthrough, but at the 19:40 mark, you grabbed a bloody vest instead of the duct tape I think you meant to grab.
Here’s a series idea for the future: a LV run where you start by burning the whole city. I recommend turning up the loot frequency so that any surviving containers are more likely to have supplies in them.
I remember that there was a nice giant two(3?)-strorey building north-west in Q3 that was almost all secured by tall fences, near water and with a fuel pump too. When you start to clear Q3 that could be your safe base.
I'm in a middle of this challenge too! 7 characters in, and 80 days long, I've divided Kingsmouth from East and West. I managed to settle in the Lighthouse on the northeast - and made East Kingsmouth my looting/shopping run, and the Military Base my go-to gunshop and re-arming - making sure any respawned zombies stay deader than dead in the East, and made some thrice a week runs to West Kingsmouth AKA Hell's Resort and Hotel. I cannot stress West Kingsmouth enough. I've armed myself to the teeth with Molotoves, around 800 shells, 1200 M16 Ammo, 3 campfires. And there are a shit-ton, no, fuckload of zombies there. I've expended all my ammo and placed all campfires strategically in the giant hotel so I can simply run around it, luring zombies out the hotel, and safely have the zombies just burn themselves outside. I've made progress and 5 characters later, _AND THERE ARE STILL SO MANY OF THEM._ Looking to clear the hotel one day. But it's still so many of them - even the ashes of the burned litter the area, causing FPS issues. In the end, Kingsmouth is a lovely map. I love how it's a challenge in itself and forcing you to be scrappy from the start and eventually become the master of the island yourself. Looking to see you accomplish what I still am going for! Cheers, man! Amazing Zomboid content! ❤
Just for anyone wondering you can’t build floors into the water around the wall to get into the milibase they have it build blocked you might be able to build over with stairs I never tried that!

Pedantry aside, I am very much looking forward to this series, moreso than the super hunter I think. But honestly I have been here for the last several challenges, and they have all been very enjoyable!
Looking forward to this series. Once you're on the island, you are pretty safe, but I'm sure the natural objective of the challenge is to kill all the zeds. Plenty of guns, though. The number of in-game days I've spent in the resort car park. Burning, shooting, retreat to drive-in, repeat. There are thousands of them.
Jean-Claudette Van Damme found her little place in the middle of nowhere... And was never heard from again, as she retired in the forests on the outskirts of Isengard, where she took the Hobbits.
Im actually playing Kingsmouth myself, and that resort area scares me. Kingsmouth is designed to go counterclockwise, if you wanna get to the military base, and where you spawn generally doesnt have much in terms of loot. So if you wanna get anywhere, you gotta go south... towards the resort. And you generally wont have a decent weapon either, so running to get away from zombies is the best. I recommend looting the mechanics first, and loop back through the golf range if you're being followed. The range has a long sightline, but whenever I was in it, it was empty of zombies
