"Eigtheen years old and rapidly approaching middle age" I love how this sentence gives you a sense of your poor life expectency without needing to write it down. That's good writing.

Some tips from a ship scav and “anti-boarding methods” expert. Reactors are fat stacks of cash, but don’t get complacent. Hard times may come for us all. Don’t ignore the reactor function parts either! They are worth good money too. Found a CO2 scrubber? And a cartridge to put in it? Good. You have functionally limitless air as long as it isn’t vented into space. Don’t forget the canister for the scrubber as well. Contaminant scrubbers are more late game, but still useful. Both make you some meh money, maybe enough to pay off your mortgage for the shift. Did YOU just get boarded by a pirate? Are you not good at using or handling weapons? Pick up the nearest sharp object and repeatedly attack using the “stab” method. It can pen a good bit of armor if you’re using the combat knife! 38 stab wounds later and you might have a corpse, or a blacking out anemic criminal/corpo security officer. Have a gun? Great! USE FIREARMS WHILE ONBOARD THE ENEMY VESSEL ONLY. They do cause damage to hulls and objects, so expect to vent the enemy ship after you let loose 5-15 rounds. Also expect your enemy boarder(s) to be dead. Can you tackle them? Yes? Go full American football lineman on them and sprawl them out on the cold floor. Then stab them. Or use “slash” if they don’t have armor. With this you will make FAT stacks of cash. Healthy mental state of mind for your character not guaranteed. Do note: if strong, melee preferable. If feeble, firearms preferred. In the middle? Do whatever you’d like, just make sure that they’re not getting back up to report your actions to the authorities.

A few things: First and least relevant, you missed a few things on KLEG, there is a crowbar in the lower right of the station accessible with just a button push. As well there is a knife and Halverson welder in a room you can access just by installing the provided conduit where it tells you to. 2nd: uninstall damaged items, drag them to your ship, and repair them! That capacitor has a legal sale price of ~3k, even if you don't find the components just lying around(And you usually will) it's generally worth buying the components to repair something. Oh and don't sell anything that you haven't restored to 'Like New' unless you are just tossing out the trash. 3rd: In 0.14 turning off your transponder is no longer the panacea it was in 0.13! You can and will still get caught. 4th: As others have mentioned, the Flotilla doesn't have refueling capability. It also buys most stuff for only ~30% of what you would get from the Salvage(Not scrap) kiosk. There are a couple of exceptions that are worth selling at Flotilla: Basically anything that the medical (*coughweedcough*) place buys is a decent sale. So life support gear, medicines and food.
