How perfect. The growl of the bass, the freshness of the drums, the uniqueness of the guitar, and the way the sustained guitar note becomes sax... The keys, then of course, the vocals. Gotta love it.
Thank you Rory for having a Saturday Night with Chisel & Co. Again 'Janelle' and 'Breakfast at Sweethearts' for another side to them. With 5 outstanding songwriters and two world class singers (as well as great backing vocals from the band) no surprise that they have a sound all to themselves.
That was awesome!! Awesome Cold Chisel!! I love the vocals, and it's builts up, totally awesome!!! I love songs that builds oohh I hear a sax!! Thank You Rory!! 😊 🩷🤘✌️
Want something interesting.. look for two clips from the Ringside concert.. Lovelight and All I Wanna Do.. Jimmy and Ian doing support, and the drummer Steve singing.. not long before he died..
I absolutely love this song, the scatting at the beginning by Jimmy, the smooth vocals by Mossy and Jimmy’s contribution is 🔥. I also love the saxophone in this song. It was a great tune to play before going out to the pubs, to get you in the mood.
the visuals are great with this song - the "official video" highlights what the song is about so you get the visuals as well as the audio - the sounds of kings cross on a saturday night in the 80s
Great version. Even better with the filmclip showing the guys walking through the seedy parts of Sydney. "I got two day's money..." what a line! Thanks for reacting matey. PS I agree with others below the line, "Janelle" from 1983 and the original filmclip of "Breakfast at Sweethearts" are both 2 different looks at what this band can do
You have to hear the studio version of 'Yakuza Girls' off 'The Last Wave of Summer' album. It was the first single off their new album when they made a comeback, released in 1998. Sounds like Don had a wild night when he wrote that one!

Janelle is another small but beautiful song by them that I love. A real ear worm
