This session will describe the stepwise evolution of a single institution’s SBRT program, the requirements to ensure the quality and safety of treatment when expanding to new sites of SBRT and illustrate the expanding use of SBRT through case examples.
Speaker Bio:
Darby Erler MRT(T), MHSc is the Clinical Specialist Radiation Therapist for the Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) Program at the Odette Cancer Centre at Sunnybrook and an Instructor with the Department of Radiation Oncology, University of Toronto. She graduated from the University of Toronto’s Master of Health Science in Medical Radiation Sciences program in 2015. As a clinical specialist radiation therapist, Darby’s goal is to enhance radiation therapy practice and patient outcomes for those undergoing SBRT through an expanded patient focus. Her research areas of interest include assessing clinical outcomes associated with the use of SBRT, evaluating innovations in treatment delivery and improving the patient experience with the use of patient reported outcomes.
