In today's vlog we head to Universal Orlando Resort to check into the Portofino Bay Resort's Despicable Me Minion Suite! We check in and give you a detailed tour of our room. Jackson wasn't so sure of the Minions at first but then he warmed up to them. We thought the room's decorations and design details were so creative and cute! Then we have a little dinner and call it night! We can't wait till the opening day of Mardi Gras tomorrow at Universal Studios! Stay tuned for that vid tomorrow! Here’s to more creators talking about the important stuff rather than just expecting others to do it for them.
Please stay at the Art of Animation! It is my favorite resort ever at Disney, you guys would have a blast and Jackson would love the rooms! They are super cute ✨

Most likely the original room layout was a 1 bedroom with the current master bedroom as the living room and the minion room was the master.

In Spain we say “salsa rosa” for the mixture of ketchup and mayo, which is literally just “pink sauce”. I think that alioli is just for sauces that for sure have olive oil and garlic in them.
Thanks for mentioning the National Civil Rights Museum. We went this past summer for the first time and it is an incredible place and well worth your time if you’re in Memphis.

I think it’s the real Portofino too. My dad’s been to the real Portofino and the Universal hotel and says they almost exactly alike.

So we use a collapsible wagon to take our things up to our room when staying at a hotel! That way you don't have to wait for a cart and you don't have to touch the cart! Have fun!
I love the way you all patent but one thing always try to make him ask for what he wants he may not know the word but if u all keep repeating it to him he will learn. It will help him develop his words .😊

My sister and I are watching the whole Marvel collection starting from beginning to end to catch her up so moving forward, she will have background info on all currently (i.e., Wandavision) and future Marvel movies. She is enjoying our Marvel movie venture!!😄 It's fun catching stuff I've missed over the years that she's catching first time around!!
I am enjoying all these staycations. The variety of rooms is so interesting. I also enjoy when you show the food you ordered.

The atrium reminds me of the connection between Bally’s and Paris in Las Vegas. It does actually feel like you’re outside.
we were lucky enough to stay in a Jurassic World suite at the Royal Pacific, it was amazing. Gyrosphere beds the kids loved! And we walked to the parks so easy to do!
I couldn’t eat at the times you guys eat lol! I’d be starving! Especially during your home vlogs or when you all would eat dinner at Disney springs you all eat dinner at like 7-9 pm goodness! I’m starving by 4 pm lol.

Tim and Jen, these staycation videos have been my favorites lately!! We only manage to get to Orlando every five years or so, so my kids and I are really enjoying living vicariously through you guys! 😉
Awww, we stayed here for our honeymoon and have such good memories. They brought a huge gift basket with champagne to our room, so sweet. We had such a quiet room but it was a garden view so maybe that’s the difference, it did seem like there was more activity on the waterfront side.
I love that there was two Kevins mentioned in this video (from Home Alone and Despicable Me)! 😆

What a gorgeous hotel! We've never stayed there but at Royal Pacific in the Jurassic themed room. We really liked it a lot but wish there was a more family friendly bathroom set up where more than 1 person could be using it at the same time. I know the newer hotels are more accommodating!

Thank you for featuring the National Civil Rights Museum. I work in student travel and it is one of our favorite stops when we take groups to Memphis. The museum is a truly immersive and impactful experience and is a definite must see in the area. Thanks for all you do, Tim and Jenn!!
I remember staying at the Portofino many years back and I was eating a salad from the quick service while enjoying my dinner with my family, when this 3ft tall crane casually walked over to me, tossed my chicken salad with his beak, and stole the chicken right off my plate! I couldn't eat my food because I was too busy defending our food from this greedy bird lol. Thankfully, a father of a family sitting next to us saw our struggle and stood by while our families finished our meals.

I worked at a hotel until recently and the reason we didn't have extra blankets in the rooms was to help out laundry and housekeeping. They have to spend extra time cleaning rooms now (they clean going in and on the way out) and to get them ready for the next guest in time for check in the laundry people are helping clean rooms. Even if the blankets aren't used they have to be re-washed along with all the linens that are in the room to be safe. So to help the laundry out they don't put extra blankets/pillows in the room at this time but if you ask the hotel will provide them. I hope that help answer your question about the blankets.

I remember that universal was the first theme park I ever went to and we stayed at portifino I remember eating at that make your own pasta restaurant there and got massive heartburn (lol)
The bathroom is set up the way (no sink storage, grab bar for the shower, lots of floor space for the chair to turn around) it is to be WC accessible. Looks like you got an accessible room.
I think all of the portifino bathrooms are like that, even the non accessible ones.

When I stayed at All Star Sports a LONG time ago (like maybe 15 years or so) they let me take a luggage cart because they didn't/don't provide bellhop services. But - they put a hold on my credit card for a huge sum of money (I think around $200 if I'm remembering right) in case it was not brought back within a specific time frame (think it was like 2 hours or so).
Gorgeous hotel, and grounds, and love the atrium and shopping areas. Coming in from the courtyard area, with the waterfront, reminds me of going into the DV areas by the pool at the Boardwalk. That wristband is a great idea. OMG - that Minions room is SO COOL!! Very surprised the kids room has a balcony (at all), and the parents bedroom doesn't - VER weird!
