Now, with a bit more experience and having had some experience with cars too, i have to say that i think this car will be a collectors car soon . Of course 90% of the reason would be the engine . I have an NB2 Miata with intake and exhaust and while it's far from a fast car, it SOUNDS fast like this one does and, like Misha often says, it has emotion and it's the most fun I've had in 30 years of driving. I believe I read in a forum post once that GTAs have a 50-60% ‘survival rate’, while the regular models do something like 20-30%. Compared to collector cars like Ferraris, they do 80-90%. So quite OK for the GTA, but still like you said increasingly rare compared to Ferraris.

This goes on to show that the Top Gear episode was greatly exaggerated (as it should be since it’s entertainment).
The GTAs had some improvements that went beyond the bigger engine. Wider track with specific panels, control arms and dampers, tighter steering rack, oil cooler and an entirely revised rear suspension with modified anchor points.
While Alfa should have made the Q2 differential standard, the tipo II rev 3 platform was very refined for its segment and not a cheap Fiat as we were led to believe.

Handling surprised me - way less understeer than I would have expected with a severe front weight bias that was yet worsened by two people in front and rear seat delete. Barely any torquesteer either - does it have an LSD?
6:04 well that's how you actually set up a FWD - front axle softer for increased grip, rear axle stiffer for less grip, to make the car turn easier under braking and acceleration.

I don't know how a car with that weight at the front has stability to do a circuit.... i mean, it's not an longitudinal engine whith transaxel, it's a more conventional transversal engine whith transmition all at the front......can misha explain this please....?

Macchina eccezionale! Sospensioni anteriori a quadrilatero... come poche! Tenuta da paura! Non aveva neanche l'ESP (VDC) ma non mi ha mai messo in difficoltà!

How hard can it be to remove everything from the trunk before the lap, and then put it back after the lap. It will take exactly 1 minute to do, but will make the lap that much more enjoyable for everyone.😢

love the rockstar reference!!! Fuck them, they're keeping gta 5 alive for 10 years and give no support to Red Dead 2 after a year.... to make matters worse they are releasing gta 6 for console only, when gta is originally a PC game. END RANT
Wonderful vid as always, thanks for showing us North Americans awesome hatchbacks we've never seen!

It doesn't look like 250hp, the red GTV of the other video was faster in every section of the track.
I have a GTV (a little modified) with same engine of this 147 GTA and honestly its way faster.

So good to see this powerful 'little" machine on the track. Insane exhaust sound, reaching top speeds in a blink of an eye. Gotta love the Alfa GTA 147 😎

Know a guy who had one identical to this, down to the custom exhaust. Sold it before leaving the country a few years back, wonder if it's the same one.

Cant wait because I seriously want to make it happen (wont be anytime soon but mark my words :D)

Love the video and makes me miss my 147 GTA i had for 7 years. Including the cropping up floormat problem.

I apologize for bringing up an old subject... but, why does the ring ban wreck footage? I understand privacy (blurring details is good), but I learned a lot by watching hundreds of wrecks. I learned to not "send it" as an amateur to lapping the ring the first time. Respect for the whole track, but especially the trouble corners that see the majority of wrecks. I had a healthy fear of them.

Great content as always! Although I'd have two advice, first to include accelerometer and second to give some kind of personal experience in terms of comparing, f.e. this 147 GTA to GTV 6 or so..
