This is an a part of the internet series Rat boy Genius: MMinecraft dreams, in this song, little king jhon (the sort of antagonist of the series) after basically robbing a guy from his factory of coal little king jhon starts to sing about it, the lyirics represents how he just stole a guys factory but he doesn't understand what the factory makes, the "potato knishes" are probably just wood or any other material and the "black balls" are actually coal, this representing how little king jhon just wanted the factory to feel more power even if he doesn't know what it makes or how it works+the song is really good
Nah fr tho, there’s a mod that adds rats to the game and you can make little squash balls into centipedes and such, I’m not sure if it’s the mod he is using or if it’s a reference to this
@@jamiehess3395 The modpack is Tekkit Classic (it's a really old modpack). The black balls are rubber, which is made from cooking resin (the potato pancakes). The rubber is then combined with copper to make Copper Wire (the little black worms) into Basic Circuits (the centipedes). God I love IndustrialCraft and BuildCraft :D.

This song correctly represents the selfish and unfriendly mentality of this character, how he is so blinded by his egocentrism that he thinks that the complex mechanisms of redstones are potatoes that turn into worms.

I like how it has this royal music motive so its still on theme.
What really makes this work is just how much mystery it creates. We see this king talk about how he likes to make potato knishes in a surprisingly catchy song. We can listen to this and think, "Okay, he loves this food so much, he has a functioning system he made with his own hands to be able to mass-produce it."
Then he mentions that they have magic and mystery in them, which we as regular people have never even considered. I mean, it's just a potato knish, right? But this creature who moves in such strange ways, with such an entrancing voice, tells us otherwise, and because we were already hooked, we take his word for it and begin to wonder what that mystery is - and furthermore, what he knows that we don't.
Then he shows us how he makes little black squash balls, from... potato pancakes? Wait, but couldn't the potatoes that made these pancakes have been used for more potato knishes? And if no, why not? As well, what purpose do these little black squash balls serve his Highness?
But as we think of the possible answers to these questions, he moves on to show us how he has a machine to make centipedes... out of worms. Why does he turn little black worms into centipedes? What is the reason for this? What purpose does it serve his Highness? Why must he defy nature this way, for what purpose, and furthermore how?
In most other cases of things like this, where a character shows what they can do, we get long-winded explanations of how they do it and how they learned to do it, we get a novel explaining why, and no mystery is left for us to ponder over. Here, Little King John shows but a portion of what he can do, leaving it to us to comprehend why, and ponder where he learned to do all this. We start from a seemingly simplistic song, to a whole tapestry of narrative excellence *conveyed* through a simple yet surprisingly catchy melody.
