I bought my wedding dress for $25 at a volunteer’s of America thrift store in Ohio in 1993. My mother in law and her best friend soaked it in bleach for a week to get it white. It was perfect I loved it I actually still have it, my dad gave my mother in law $2,500 for the entire wedding and said make this work+ I need receipts for everything.

LOL, I was in that Rochester Salvation Army last week and looked at that white bird cage, too. Too much $$!
That fake bread is very expensive on line. I hope you bought them. They look great on scales and in hanging scales and dough bowls.

Churches also sell well for Resurrection Day/ Easter. You could add florals or chick's and eggs a bird nest.
The Cutting Boards without handles make great transfer projects with just a coat of paint

Get the basket and get around wooden circle from the dollar's dollar tree and put in the bottom of it and stay in it and make it look old and it go perfect with the basket

Great finds, those lightweight wire baskets would make great wire cloches.
Exactly cut off the handles and glue knobs on top. Love that idea.
I also was not fond of those cups in the birds. Or if you could remove those and put a little greenery in there, that would be super cute.
My friend used to live in Rochester Hills. We used to go to Salvation Army in Rochester. Michigan has the best garage sales and thrift shops!

The round baskets with handle that you said were to light. Cut a circle at the bottom and get the hanging lamp kits. And you have very nice hanging lamp.
You can glue drawer knobs on top of plain cloches for an added detail (from simple wood to ornate metal).
I thought the owl you passed on was really cute, but right behind it was something that caught my eye that looks like a planter with some faux greenery. Anyway, you got some good stuff in that cart today!!

Our thrift stores "suck" compared to yours. I never let my boys says that word in our house and here it was just the best word to describe our thrift stores around me .
And besides they don't live with me anymore.

Thrift stores have quick turn arounds. Don’t be afraid to ask for a manager for a better price on an item. They want to get the stuff out the door fast.

I would be interested in what people are buying in your shop like what is selling. I know the vibe here on the West Coast is different than in the Midwest or East Coast and by the way I was born in Michigan but I live in Washington state. At any rate, I’m curious what people love there. I have to be absolutely in love with some thing to buy at full price. That’s why I love Thrifting, my three things are wood metal and glass. I always always always check these areas. I have found some amazing things. I don’t resell so I tend to buy things. I really love to display and I have way too much stuff but I can’t help it. There are things that make us happy. Sometimes you pick up stuff that I would never pick up but that’s your eye and what you know will sell. Like I am not a sign person my cousin lives in Tennessee and she loves signs and has them all over her house. I don’t even have one.

How is your mom feeling? We have our first Winter weather, snow snow and more on the way. 1 degrees. Its rough getting out and shopping and increase the risk of falling. Let her know we think of her. I really enjoy seeing the type of decor pieces you find.

Some of those prices were outrageous! But you did find a lot of treasures anyway!
You can also use a table runner as a curtain topper & if long enough, you can make it a swag. Table runners also look great drapped ( and tacked,) over an inside door frame.

You can also use those scarfs (depending on the length) on the end of a bed as a coverlet...while staging I learned people seem to love 'fake food'...I would have snapped up those loaves of bread (I also share your mom's love of fake fruit - she's spot on)

If you've got those wooden plates that you saw you could have taken them and painted them with a couple Coats of I always spray my stuff. One coat and then it only takes 1 coat of chocolate because the chocolate is so thick on the plates and then you can use them to hang on the wall. You could put the rub off decals on them. You've got a cricket. You could print something off on the cricket and put it in the plate. There's a milk. If your mother was along she'd probably buy those wooden plates and do that

Hi, so many different tastes. I would have gotten the whitewash candle stand. The other, crackle looked like a OTP piece to me. Definitely the white bird cage too, had a lot of character. I have many cages, went through a phase 🙃
It's amazing how nice the decor is there and so much variety! We don't have that here unless you go to a collectibles store! I love little houses too. They just intrigue me. Love candle stick's too.
