Warren, if any Man is making a comment ( besides a respectful and qualified technical), that gets under your skin, It is to be ignored. From watching and listening to you, you have earned utmost respect from your piers AND those of us whose skills and knowledge are a bit shy of yours. And my hat is off to every person who has supported you both in word and deed or Dollar. Damn good work! - Worn out work horse from Ohio.
Warren I enjoy your videos a lot. Your knowledge of all things mechanical is unreal. Now whenever I am fixing something I always think "Now what would Warren do??" Thanks again. Keep up the great videos.
As you noted, the hydraulic hoses are under fluid pressure. You can purge them at the other end by cracking the fitting, thus draining off the pressure. Great job and as alway, it's been a real treat watching you 'Whup' those tractors back into shape!! You do really have the knack for troubling shooting and fixing what others would walk away from
Exactly what I was thinking. My loader frame by the valves will never rust, its coated in hydraulic oil from me smacking the detents to depressurize them 😆! That's the only time they get cleaned out and work right too.
Design defect broke the right one but owner only swapped out the broken one after buying set with design fault correction. Most expense was downtime, transport, pulling loader. Another hour (maybe) to swap left one and he "saved" that little bit of money. False economics comes to mind.
Warren, as much as I love how much you work to get the right camera angle. I'd be happy with a camera angle further away if it would make your job easier. Don't forget to add your stories. Love those.
Spot on with your customers request. Had a Kubota M7040 loader frame start to show a crack about the same spot, chased the crack to the end with a grinder to find a fleck of what looked like dirt and a small pocket in the casting. Kubota wanted 1500 for each frame so opted to weld it, cast steel so 9018 rod, preheat the part to 400f, let it normalize, welded it up, ground out the back side and welded both sides up flush and put it back in the heat for a few hours, then wrapped it with fiberglass and moving blankets, still hot as a pistol five hours later so gave it a day to cool and still works spiffy after four years of hard use.
The video title says: _Broke loader frame._ Fair enough says I. A few seconds in, I see the truck door advertising ''welding'' and ''repairs'', then I thought, ok, this'll be interesting. And _then_ you showed me the loader arm, and I said out loud: _NO WAY is he gonna try and weld that up!_ I _have_ to watch this. Thank gawd you then mentioned the NEW arms to go on. I was sweating bullets here. Ok - now I know it's a simple 5 min job swapping them over (heheheh lol...yeah! right!), I shall keep watching (I'm only 3-mins-30 in to it). Keep on keeping on! Dawg.
That's a good break in that frame. I had a little Toro dingos loader front cross member break right off on site and bent one of the arms and cylinder. Bent it back, add a new 1/2" thick 4x4 cross member and never had an issue again. Saw new models identical to mine except their cross member is much thicker than the original I had. Funny how they changed that in later models.
Warren, if you don’t think you can sharpen them bits by hand buy yourself a drill doctor and tell the boy to start sharpening. Well worth the money. I bought the smaller one, up to 1/2 inch and it puts a better edge on the bits than any manufacturer does. I stepped up to the bigger one, up to 3/4 inch and it’s a little more complicated but it too does a wonderful job. It’s a good job for the boy on a slow day.
I worked as an auto repair technician for about 18 years. Now I’m working on scooters, roller blades and pogo sticks at Big Jim’s bicycle shop! I’ve never actually worked on or really even been near a Case tractor but, I did save a TON of money on my car insurance by switching Geico! Since I am obviously a mechanical and thrifty wizard, I can tell that you are doing that all wrong!!! Whatever the hell it is that your are doing!!! I sure could use one of those neat crane trucks to lift up uni-cycles to install high performance, solid rubber tires.... Anyway, have a great day! Enjoyed the video, regardless of the fact you have no idea what you are doing... Disclaimer: Above commentary is meant to be taken as a joke.
Great video! All the moving around made me a bit dizzy, but can't complain about the work! Annoys me when people don't maintain their equipment. No parking brake...if on an incline a pretty dangerous hunk of metal once rolling.
We all forget make mistakes i do even though i double triple check it just happens. I have learned in my older age to write things down and when doing a engine that i have not done before to TAKE PICS AND MAKE A PUNCH LIST it does help have a great day godbless give daisy a big hug from me
True. Stuff that I could just glance at briefly and then re-install it all isn’t quite so simple anymore. I guess short term memory is one of the first things to go. I’m embarrassed that something as simple as drive belt routing can cause me to have to think or rely on a picture now.
Hi Warren, some cutting paste may help with those blunt drill bits, it gives them a second life sometimes. Love watching all your videos with your sense of humour.
Love your videos but, as a machinist of 40 years experience it pained me to watch your bolt removal. Any hand grinder could have put an edge on those drills in a few seconds. Just follow the angle and go for it. Or weld a smaller bolt to the broken one and presto! Cheers from Quebec.
You know it's sad that people say I only want this done but you know what in my opinion you are a dam good mechanic because you listen and only do what they want done unlike other places I've personally been to and they take the liberty of oh well I think this is wrong and charge you for it or I charge you for this much whether you like it or not whether it needs to be done or not and for that reason you are a dam great mechanic Because you know your shit and you listen to what they want to be done it's not always a matter of what needs to be done and paid for it's what can be paid for be done
To start holes in broken bolts and other hand drilling applications I use a long "center drill" for a lathe. It is stiff and has a small short end that won't walk around. It is only good to make the center mark about 1/8 inch deep. You might ask your machine shop buddy to resharpen those bits. I resharpen all mine and only toss them when I break them.
Corrosion BLOK is a great product...very good corrosion preventer, also great residual. Canadian company makes it and order on line...is priceie but quality product. Great for electrical corrosion
Good work , I found at most part stores you can only buy the left hand drill bits as a complete kits, half the counter people don't even know what a L.H. bit is.
I tell you Warren. You’ve got it good on the pricing of brake cleaner or starter fluid. Over here in the U.K. I can’t find either for less than about $3.50 a small can. 😩
And his prices are worse than a lot of the rest of the US. He lives in commiefornia which taxes everything to death and jacks up the price of everything that sounds harmful or scary.
As usual. Another awesome video. I bought a can of catalyst at ace hardware here where I'm at. 16.00 bucks. It damn near takes your whole paycheck to just stay working. And as far as Napa go's. There expensive as heck. Hope you have an Awesome day.
Isn’t just your kids my pal, ours in England - exactly the same. You ask ‘Take the recycling out’. They do it, and leave the rest. They say ‘But you only said recycling’ 🤬🤬🤬
I haven't heard of "Move It" but it sounds good. What I use is "PB Blaster". It beats them all, except, perhaps, "Move It". Also, I'm in Canada. I really enjoy this channel. Keep posting your videos...they're Great!
Working with that much steel, pinch points tight spaces requires his patience, the new one's are improved makes no sense to order the set and not put them both on, but I know it's not what the customer wants. God speed in your work.
How about those drill bit sharpening tools?? They pivot left and right and the bit mounts at an angle. Maybe one of those to give you razor sharp bits. Determination makes up for an awful lot of problems!
It always makes me cringe when I here "throw the bit away, it's dull" I've sharping drill bits by hand since I was old enough to reach the bench grinder. I use a drill sharpener now just to make the fluted true than back to the ole snag grinder bto get the edge I want. My Dad spent 40 years in machine repair and took an die, he taught me a lot of tricks to making regular high speed drill bits to things carbide won't
My rate is 150 per hour, so I am not going to spend an half an hour or hour sharpening bits, when I can buy one cheaper, some people will trip over a dollar to save a nickel.
itv is pure pleasure watching your uploads during my confinement at home. DON"T let the Osha buttinskies, and shop mechanics who never worked a day outside - much less through the year bother you. Hey Warren the next time you are trying to remove a broken bolt with a left-handed drillbit , before using your left hand drill bit just take an 1/8 or 3/16 drillbit and drill a pilot hole about a quarter of an inch deep , Then use your left-handed drillbit the pilot hole will allow the left-handed drillbit to grab easier , you don’t have to push quite so hard .Also in a pinch you can grind a right hand drill bit backwards and make a left handed half ass broken bolt removing drillbit , did it once ,wasn’t pretty but it worked
Can't help but wonder how the conversation went between the folks who decided to put the fuel transfer tube right through the transmission case. "Hey Bob, where ya goin' fer lunch? " "I dunno Bill, gotta work out this transfer tube first" "Hell Bob, that is easy, just run 'er through the trans, get the foundry to cast up a case with a passage tube in it, it'll be perfect. If possible predrilled a small pilot hole with a regular bit. Then use larger left hand bit the pilot hole will give more chance for the left bit to grab

your right you gotta head em off. With the new design obviously stronger, my luck with only changing one i’d soon be changing out the old soon. Good vid
If a frame is cracked that bad and that far deep it will continue to ged deeper over time even if you weld it. Remember welds can hold new position. What I mean by that a welded plate will hold its position if no opposing forces are forced upon it. If a frame is split in half horizontally it will continue and break welds that are trying to keep it together. If you have a frame that is cut vertically so say the way the government does to resell trucks to keep newer fleets then you can weld plates on all 4 sides of the frame with lag bolts going through to re establish the frames integrity.
Sure glad that is a Buler and not a CIH loader that broke. None of that stuff is easy to get to. I thought I was going to have to drop the fuel tank to adjust my clutch. Instead I had to cut a hole in the cab floor and make an access door.
Wholly shit,, must of put one hell of stress on that to snap that,,, We have a Case 885xl,, Bought it from new,, brilliant machine,, Oh and a jcb 3cx 44 years old,, still goes,, the bloody metal they put into that machine,,, unreal...
The weather here in South Carolina is the same. I got a lot done here today also. Enjoy this fine weather because it will be hotter than hell before long.
Not just release the pressure. Making sure the the connectors are working is even more important. Not a huge job to dismantle them and give them a good clean, while making sure the lock rings slide nice and easy. Tapping them with a hammer is not a recommended way of installing the H-connectors. Not criticising, just pointing out from 30 years of working on similar things as a CAT maintenance crew member. Running a tap into those rusted treads wouldn't go ashtray either. Giving the parts to be worked on a hit with a pressure washer prior to starting helps to make the entire thing a job to do, rather than a chore.
I just started watching this and loaders are designed to be taken off with the bucket on the loader. You need a bucket on it plus a level place to to unmount it.
You're not lying about the price of AeroKroil. Tacoma Screw sells it here for $24, and that's for 10oz. can. It's saved my ass a few times, but if I can find something that works just as well and is cheaper, I'll definitely use it.
When your attaching your quick connect hydraulic hoses depress the little nipple that sticks out of the male end against a solid preferably clean surface before you insert into the coupler. This relieves a little bit of the pressure and they snap in a lot easier.
Welding that crack was not an option? Fist time I saw some left handed drill bits in action :) Looked more useful than a screw extractor set. Are they harder to grind?
Almost gureteed to crack again being as there's no good way to plate it New mounts are an upgrade and a safeguard against down time Animals missing a feed or 2 can be costly in turn around time to market If the tractor was just a glorified garden tractor then you'd prob just weld it up and deal with rewelding it every year Iv got a 40ft slasher that leaks more oil than it holds and has many frame cracks But it's only for mowing my roadways so I just deal with it cause down time on it is meaning less yet I'll change out perfectly fine bearings on the combines based on others experience with failure times because down time on them is everything
And the only thing hard about grinding a LH drill bit is in your head Its the same as a standard bit but reverse They get so little use iv only sharpened 1 Had 1 set for 8yrs
makes you wonder why the thickest piece of iron on the whole loader is the one that broke. I have welded the same piece on the same loader. possibly they stressed it at the factory when forming it to shape in their heavy duty press
think it wouldve been wizer to replace bith those holders , and give him back the one that didnt broke , since one of them cracked it probably tweaked or weakened to other one , you got the thing off nd no need t do it again when the other one decides to let go wonder if it would help decouple the loader if you weld a piece of steel over the crack to hold everything in place
No trouble from me Warren. I followed you from the first video. I don't Question a mechanic with 25 years. Thanks for having a channel to educate us.
If all people worked as hard as you, the world would be a far better place. from UK
@wayne goff What do you do as I am an engineer/mobile welding?

I agree fixing the brake for the gentleman hate to get the machine on him, thank you for your videos.
You’re the best ,and talk thru the any situation that occurs. That makes you a super mechanic on heavy equipment..I enjoyed very much your videos
The fight is real! Keep up the good work Warren, thanks for the video.
Very cool Warren. It was great to see a job from start to finish without you having to wait for parts!!
loader valves are always a pain in the ass put together new and only when something breaks when they get used, good job .
Exactly what I was thinking. My loader frame by the valves will never rust, its coated in hydraulic oil from me smacking the detents to depressurize them 😆! That's the only time they get cleaned out and work right too.

I thought that's what they were going to do, but no leave a brand new one on a palet to rust....sigh
A nice flat, dressed pedestal grinder and you can hand sharpen all those drill bits in just a few minutes.
Warren, as much as I love how much you work to get the right camera angle. I'd be happy with a camera angle further away if it would make your job easier. Don't forget to add your stories. Love those.

I’ve found drilling a pilot hole first in a broken bolt with a right handed bit then change over to a lefty get her done.

Cross over line "through" the transmission. That's nearly as "Batt shit" as chevy's axle shaft hole through the oil pan.

Warren, if you’re ever traveling through northern Illinois, stop by the shop lol. Great video, never seen one of these break like it did.
As usual. Another awesome video. I bought a can of catalyst at ace hardware here where I'm at. 16.00 bucks. It damn near takes your whole paycheck to just stay working. And as far as Napa go's. There expensive as heck. Hope you have an Awesome day.
Add on loader not to strong. Good for light duty work not digging .
Excellent work Thanks!
Isn’t just your kids my pal, ours in England - exactly the same. You ask ‘Take the recycling out’. They do it, and leave the rest. They say ‘But you only said recycling’ 🤬🤬🤬
I use a product called (Move It) as a penetrating fluid. I am from Canada so you may not see it in the USA . BLESS YOU MAN
That stuff is the best stuff i have ever used
I haven't heard of "Move It" but it sounds good. What I use is "PB Blaster". It beats them all, except, perhaps, "Move It". Also, I'm in Canada. I really enjoy this channel. Keep posting your videos...they're Great!
Warren you worry too much what all the youtube armchair mechanics think or say, your the best so continue to do your work I love watching you
Working with that much steel, pinch points tight spaces requires his patience, the new one's are improved makes no sense to order the set and not put them both on, but I know it's not what the customer wants. God speed in your work.
How about those drill bit sharpening tools?? They pivot left and right and the bit mounts at an angle. Maybe one of those to give you razor sharp bits. Determination makes up for an awful lot of problems!
A nice change of pace with the videos. Good to work on something different.

Just another day for Warren, glad the weather is warming up for you.
Nice video :-) Hope you and the family are well. Thanks for another great video!
As a farmer I spend my life tapping hydraulic hoses on hitches and wearing hytran all day after hooking something up. Hoses are just a bugger. Especially when the new tractors have them up in the sky and you are working at shoulder height. I feel your pain.
I've had good luck with Drill Hog drill bits. Made in USA with lifetime warranty. I have a LH set from them, very handy.
I hope this comes out okay. On the wall of our farm we had a sign that said, "Never try to teach a pig to sing, it wastes your time and annoys the pig." I bring that up because there are some people that you just can't reason with. Forgive them and move on. Not because they deserve the forgiveness, but because you deserve the peace. Who'd have guessed the hardest part of the job was plugging the hoses back in
As soon as they bolt came out so easy I knew something else was going to be a fight
Always seems to be the way haha
Try plugging in a snowblower attachment in 30 below and 2 feet of snow. 😨
you are one hard working man. it sure would have been great to have another set of eyes and hands helping you.
NAPA: Don't have clue what part you are asking for, but always willing to sell ya the wrong one for twice the price of their nearest competition.
Makes no sense to keep a new one as the spare. The old one yes. The customer is always right.
NO the Customer is not always right BUT They will always be the Customer.
Nice to see you can drop that loader without a bucket or other attachment on the front. Some will come over backwards with no weight on the front.
I hope you get caught up so you can take your VACATION you sure have earned it.
put some angle iron across break the weld it on, holds the frame steady while you remove it
Can't help but wonder how the conversation went between the folks who decided to put the fuel transfer tube right through the transmission case.
"Hey Bob, where ya goin' fer lunch? "
"I dunno Bill, gotta work out this transfer tube first"

You needed the bucket to take the loader off. These are so simple to take of if you knew what you were doing.
Warren you know the old saying " If you want something done right , do it yourself " lol
Nice work buddy,in my opinion you can’t beat diesel in a squirt bottle.
Cheap and you get the same mind effect.
I am certain unless you soak tight bolts multiple times over a long period it has little effect.
0:39 Who else said, "Oh, shit!" out loud when they saw that.
More along the lines of "impressive" lol
Same emotion but the word was WOW!
your right you gotta head em off. With the new design obviously stronger, my luck with only changing one i’d soon be changing out the old soon. Good vid
Viking drill makes a great bolt removal kit with 4 or 5 left hand bits and matching ez outs. And it's usa make. Saved my ass a few times.
get a set of drillhog left hand drill bits i use them all the time.. they work great and have a lifetime warranty.
Just wondering about the rational for replacing the frame instead of welding.
Got to have an attachment on the front. Then the tilt cylinder can take the pressure off the mounting pins.
I have never tried sharpening a left hand drill bit. But would try before buying more bits.
Good call to replace them both with the new extra strength modification. Should have qualified as a factory recall.
Thanks for sharing Warren 👍🇦🇺
Thank you
You might try drilling out the center with a small bit then I believe you will find the left hand bit will bite in much better.
The weather here in South Carolina is the same. I got a lot done here today also. Enjoy this fine weather because it will be hotter than hell before long.
Just out of interest, how is the grader project going??
You should release the pressure first before plug the H-hoses back on.Make it easy.
You might like to try GT85 lubricant spray if you can get it in the USA. It’s the best I’ve tried in the UK Warren. Not too pricey.
Another good job done and a great video Warren
I just started watching this and loaders are designed to be taken off with the bucket on the loader. You need a bucket on it plus a level place to to unmount it.
we use Kroil were I work. One of my coworker frustrated the hell out of me using our left hand drill bits for enlarging a hole.
Weather looks so nice!
Easy enough to fix. Thanks for sharing.
Are you sure you want to lift that.........WHOE....I GOT HEADED OFF AT THE PASS.... LOL.....👌🇨🇦
Did Buehler cover the cost of the older design cracked frame and replace it with the updated design free?
Minus Mufflers highly doubt it
That reminds me, my left handed screwdriver is blunt. How do I sharpen it? Can it even be done? I don't have a left handed grindstone.
You're not lying about the price of AeroKroil. Tacoma Screw sells it here for $24, and that's for 10oz. can. It's saved my ass a few times, but if I can find something that works just as well and is cheaper, I'll definitely use it.
Castle Thrust . Sold at most NAPA stores. Not cheap compared to WD40 but works well. The last can I purchased was about $12 I think.
When your attaching your quick connect hydraulic hoses depress the little nipple that sticks out of the male end against a solid preferably clean surface before you insert into the coupler. This relieves a little bit of the pressure and they snap in a lot easier.
You dont need to purchase new drill bits. Take you old drill bits to the bench grinder and sharpen them. Takes two min and they are as good as new.
Always a thumbs up. Thx for the post.
Nice! You set up videos to release while you're on vacation. : )
He canceled his vacation. He said that on one of the grader videos.

Did you get it? He cancelled his plans
Ah, I must have missed/forgot that bit. That's too bad.
Who else wanted to reach out and push on the hoses to take the slack off while he hooked that last hose in.
Me.
Thank you man!!! keep up the good work ethic👍
Next time at Napa make sure you give the counter man the VIN # for those left handed drill bits...it's the only way they can find them lol
buy a DRILL DOCTOR and have no more dull bits! They really work great!
Bruce The Curmudgeon : You right ! I have one and it works good as long as you sharpen them at least 7 revolutions !
Do they work on left hand bits? Might be worth a shot
Welding that crack was not an option?
Fist time I saw some left handed drill bits in action :) Looked more useful than a screw extractor set. Are they harder to grind?
Almost gureteed to crack again being as there's no good way to plate it
New mounts are an upgrade and a safeguard against down time
Animals missing a feed or 2 can be costly in turn around time to market
If the tractor was just a glorified garden tractor then you'd prob just weld it up and deal with rewelding it every year
Iv got a 40ft slasher that leaks more oil than it holds and has many frame cracks
But it's only for mowing my roadways so I just deal with it cause down time on it is meaning less yet I'll change out perfectly fine bearings on the combines based on others experience with failure times because down time on them is everything
And the only thing hard about grinding a LH drill bit is in your head
Its the same as a standard bit but reverse
They get so little use iv only sharpened 1
Had 1 set for 8yrs
I guess it feels awkward to grind a left drill,
when you are used to grinding ordinary.
Hey warren I’ve got a question. Why is my power steering reservoir under pressure and back feeding fluid out the fill neck
Vent is probably stopped up
makes you wonder why the thickest piece of iron on the whole loader is the one that broke. I have welded the same piece on the same loader. possibly they stressed it at the factory when forming it to shape in their heavy duty press
think it wouldve been wizer to replace bith those holders , and give him back the one that didnt broke , since one of them cracked it probably tweaked or weakened to other one , you got the thing off nd no need t do it again when the other one decides to let go
wonder if it would help decouple the loader if you weld a piece of steel over the crack to hold everything in place
