    The rider in 1:00 is a good friend of mine. she’s a paraplegic with also limited mobility in one arm. She couldn’t sit back up when the horse spooked and lost control. She’s an amazing rider and competes at an Olympic level. What happened was just an accident. It happens to all of us

      She is an awesome rider! Many people don't realize no matter how well behaved the horse is, how good the rider is, that is still an animal that weighs over 1000 lbs, can run 30 mph and has the strength to throw itself over 5 foot fences and has a mind, sometimes the ground will jump up and slap you, hard!

  • @maura_the_rose

    I think the scariest part of a lot of these falls is how determined the riders are. Like-- they tried so damn hard and did everything thing they could to stay on yet still ended up on the ground. Yikes.

    A lot of people blaming the riders. But remember, horses have a mind of their own. Sometimes they misbehave too - some of these no doubt, were at the riders' doing but many others the horse was acting up.

    • @Winterthehunterjumper
      @Winterthehunterjumper Год назад

      Other horses can act up of the rider , doing something wrong, that the horse doesn’t like it, obviously act up I agree with you, but again, if the writers doing something wrong. Of course the horse is going to act up again we shouldn’t blame either of the rider or the horse. It’s gonna happen out of nowhere.

    When they don't let go of the reins and you can see the horse's head being pulled just makes me so annoyed. It's understandable when you're falling, I mean I'm not a miracle rider but when you're on the ground you should be able to let go
    Edit: I understand that you don't want the horse to get away. I completely agree with this if you get up quickly. I don't agree if you're lying on the ground and you're pulling their head

      @@filippa7579 I agree but I know in my case and my friends cases that when you're lying on the ground even after a bad fall that you're able to let go because it's easier on your arms. I do understand that when you're in shock it's harder to think straight. I fell against the arena door in a gallop and couldn't think straight at all. But I feel that people should try to get into a habit of letting go when you feel the strain on the reins

    Honestly you can see that most of these fails are due to the rider pulling on the horses mouth just before they jump so of course the horse is going to get confused and scared! Also, just from watching these videos you can see that by holding onto the reins when you fall you may just cause the horse pain especially if you fall onto the other side of the jump and are pulling the horse with you. However I know that it is difficult to let go of them in the shock of falling off - I’ve done it myself when I tried too late to abort a small jump but luckily I dropped them so the reins just came off her head - but we should try and let go so we don’t scare the horse. I don’t pretend I’m an expert, this is just my opinion after my personal experience and seeing the same thing over and over again.

      @@gatita99 I understand where you are coming from, but dressage saddle are very recognisable and that was extremely obviously a dressage saddle. The shape and make is 100% different to jumping or all round ones. The colour has nothing to do with it. It also has a dressage bit and is actually from a video called "DRESSAGE HORSES SHOWJUMP" I rest my case. :)

      "Horses have been domesticated for at least 5000 years. They have been used by humans in many different ways for travel, work, food, and pleasure and showing. Cavalry horses were used in war until the middle 20th century. They are used for riding and transport."
      Horses have been used and bred for transportation and work for thousands of years. Sure, that's not the case anymore, but only because of the advancements in technology, etc. If we didn't have vehicles or machines, we would still be using horses.
