Danni & Joe
Great paint job Danni, its good to see you putting on plenty of paint, when so many people just scrub the paint over. You will get the benefit of a clean engine bay for years to come.
That is our thoughts exactly! All worth it in the end
That rustoleum paint is the best. I'm digging Joes work shorts too.
Leopard print til I die!
It is nice watching RUclips and hearing a Somerset accent
It’s a lovely county!
Engine bay looks great now. Great work
Thank you!
That’s one clean engine bay, well done.
So pleased it's done, thank you!
Danni, you go girl. Well done for getting stuck in with the painting. Looks awesome but will definitely need a second coat all over to provide maximum protection from water and oil 👍👍👍
Thank you! Just coming round to the thought of painting it all over again!
I'm very jealous of your lovely clean engine bay. I've just spent the weekend soaking out filthy, oily water with disposable nappies and then scraping out the gunge of years of oil and debris. Still got to degrease the whole area then paint. There's nowhere near as much room to move about in there either. I'm determined to get it done before I start on the rest of the refurb. Thanks for the inspiration tho, I nearly gave up on my plan to get a narrowboat but wathcing you kept me going.
Aw we know how you feel! It feels good now it's done for sure. Thank you, that's very moving to know!
I very seldom comment on videos but WOW! awesome job with the engine bay, (i have subscribed and am currently watching through all the old videos :-) )
Thanks so much!
I like the large open area surrounding your engine, compared to other narrow boaters. Well done on the preparation for painting, you chose a great day to do it.
Thank you yes it’s a lovely outside space, well it will be when it’s painted!
Stumbled across your site and I absolutely love it! Really entertaining, interesting, and great fun... and sometimes hysterical Keep it up...!!! Greetings from Sydney, Australia
Thank you so much!!
Hello from Long Island New York. Looks great so far. You're doing a good job.
Thanks so much!
It looks great. Glad the heat took a break 😃
Thank you!
We love watching you guys. So industrious and you make it a fun watch. What are your day/ night jobs?
Thank you 🙂 Danni is a Nurse and I (Joe) work at a Builders Merchant
@@ItsOhJoe I'd guessed Danni is doing some kind of nursing. Well done you guys for working so hard and keeping on with the boat. We share our time between a Norfolk Broads Cruiser & a Narrow Boat moored at Crick. Both boats we've renovated but not to the extent you're doing. So we love watching your progress and appreciate the hard work involved. All best wishes xx
Glad to see you got a proper mask, you had many of us worried with that sanding episode! That engine bay is looking shiny!
Thank you! Money well spent in the long run!
Moving right along! You should feel proud of all your hard work. All the best from Missouri.
Thanks so much!
Got be one of the cleanest engine bays on the canals now, keep up the hard work guys.
Thank you!
The engine bay looks fantastic. Well done Danni. Also your artwork on the hatches looks terrific. This is going to be one cool boat.
Thank you 🙂
Danni, Jo, Wow your engine bay is looking amazing. Well done both. I'm really enjoying following your progress in getting your boat ship-shape. Take care.
Thank you!
You two inspire me more than you could ever know :) Have a lovely week! x

Danni really is a keeper
@@ItsOhJoe Half the battle is knowing that and letting her know you know :) :)
Great going the engine bay looks awesome , also great to see you got the respirators. 😉👍👌😎
Thank you! Safety first!
Well done!!!
Thank you!
Good job on the engine bay .... i need to do mine but always fine other jobs (funny that isnt it?) ... anyway, I think I'll do it next, thanks for the inspiration! Good to see you have two skin tanks - your boat will thank you for that if you go on rivers!
Thank you! Yeah I’m pleased we’ve got the skin tanks we didn’t really know what different cooling systems these boats came with it’s all learning
Good job 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you!
Good job!!!! Enjoy yr vlogs!
Keep up good work.👌🙌.
Thank you!
oh man, that's one snazzy engine bay :)
Thank you!
you efforts is priceless and I really enjoyed watching
Thank you!
good vid
Thanks 🙂
Hard work that!
So glad it’s (nearly) finished!
There must be a better way to deal with water on the bow deck than running a hose the length of the boat into the engine bilge??? But even if you keep the current arrangement, you have to have some sort of mesh /filter over the bow drain hole?
The boat was designed at a wet bilge so the bow deck is almost at water level meaning we can’t drain straight off the deck back into the canal, the pipe is a temporary fix whilst we figure out a rain water collection system - but yes will have a gauze/filter system and an additional pump for the overflow
My dad ain't got Jesus... 😄 I've only just recently started watching loving what you two do than you 🙂
Have you considered putting in a live well pump for the front deck. It is a hose fitting in and out. With an automatic float switch it would pump that water overboard w/o having to send it back to the engine area.
Yes we’re going to try and collect the rain water into a separate tank and then have an overflow pump overboard, the long pipe is a temporary fix 🙂
It's always the tequila shots! seems like a great idea at the time...
😂
Hi where are you moored? I’ve just brought my narrow boat. Heading to Bradford on Avon. I’m local to Bristol to ☺️
Bradford on Avon marina 🙂
I'm sorry to say so... but it's not light you see.. it's some new paint. Well done!
😂😂

Thank you!
I would have slid the engine out of the way, instead of struggling in that confined space. But, all in all, it’s coming on great.👍
Didn’t have access to an engine crane unfortunately, what was annoying is that the previous owner only put the engine in not that long ago!
@@ItsOhJoe you didnt need a crane. You could have slid it back and forth.
:)
Thanks for watching!
Love the vlogs but the sound levels on this video is pants.
Any particular points? Will take a look!
@@ItsOhJoe The music blasts right out throughout the vlog - your personal audio ie speaking by comparison is very quiet. So its a constant volume down volune up volume down volume up its very tiresome. Like I said we really love what you are doing - its going to be an amazing narrowboat when youve finished it because it will have your love and care in it and be a complete one off. Just the sound - pretty please?
