  • In Sep 1994 I went to the Reno Air Races for the first (and only so far time), I took a lot of video of both the ground display and flying display as well, here is all that film I took over both days.
17th Sep runs from the beginning to 1hr 27min.
18th Sep runs from 1hr 27min to the end.
Total running time is 2hrs 54 min.
Lots of great footage and action here from a very unique airshow, I had a front row seat on the crowdline both days so got some great shots.
I remember listening to the tower on my airband radio and a passing United Airlines 737 on a ferry flight asked if they could do a flyby, this was allowed and you can see it at 43:07.
Some amazing Warbird Racers here including Sea Fury 'Dreadnought' , Bearcat 'Rare Bear', Sea Fury 'Critical Mass' and Lefty Gardners P-38 'White Lightning', also lots of other great aircraft on display and flying including A-10/F-15/F-18/F-5/KC-135/C-130/B-25/P-51/Sea Fury/Fury/F-4U Corsair/T-28 Trojan/Mig-15/Fouga Magister/DC-3.
There was tragically a fatal crash on the 18th Sep when 2 x SNJ ( T-6) collided as they entered the start of their race, and one of them crashed immediately, the other one landed safely, I did not film this but at the end of this video there is some news footage I filmed from the TV in the Hotel Room, discretion is advised if you watch this as it does show the collision and crash.
Check out my other videos for more vintage airshow footage from the 1980s/1990s/2000s and subscribe !
