I’ve seen soap making videos before, but this one made it look so much more realistic to make on our own. Also, we’re gonna need more Steph and Bri crossover videos on each other’s channels. Y’all are great together!
Due to allergies etc, we can't have any chemicals or preservatives, in our soap, shampoo, lotions, lip balm etc. I have been making our own natural stuff over 25 yrs, you can add beet root crystals, purple carrot powder etc for colors, add oatmeal, there are so many wonderful things you can do. Thank you for showing how much fun it is on a rainy day 💖🔆
You two should watch Shawn on Zion Hill. He is the one who built the goat playground at ISS. He brought Jami some of his soap. It is amazing to watch him make it!
Interesting! That would be rewarding, especially doing it with a friend or relative. My grandma actually had lye soap when I was a little girl. It came wrapped in paper and was light green. I loved when you could just barley see little Kash’s face looking up at y’all ❤
Fantastic instructional video! Thank you for putting the recipe on screen. I screenshot it. I enjoy your calm and patient demeanor. Thank you Steph! Have a great day!
I love home made soap. I’ve done it also with dried flowers in it as well as exfoliating ingredients like coffee and oatmeal. I had the plastic soap molds you’d get from Hobby Lobby when I did them as party favors and gifts, but I like your soap box. Looks like it makes it so much easier. Now I like to make more liquid type soap as it’s what we use more of, but I’ve love to figure out something like a whipped body butter soap. Fun! 😊
I thought soap making would be a difficult process. You made it look like I could actually do this. The video was very interesting and it was enjoyable to watch you and Bri work together. Thank you for sharing your talent. 😊
I’ve never seen soap made. I remember lye was used to make soap, although I thought that was only in the early days of our forefathers. Learning about the lye was interesting, as well as the soap making process. Again, thank you Stephanie for sharing and Bri enjoyed you participating. ❤
Hi Steph🧼🌻. Awesome Video. I am a soap maker so I Loved watching you pass your knowledge & skill on to Bri. & that you shared it with your YT Family 👍. Hope it inspired people to learn soap making. They put SO many chemicals in commercial soap, that's why people have so many skin problems, sensitivities & allergic reactions. A gentle Homemade soap could 100% resolve Laramie's skin sensitivity 👍 Tell Bri the sodium hydroxide(lye) reacts to the fatty acids in the oil. If Bri looks up the Saponification process, she will understand that no active Lye exists in a calculated hot process soap recipe. Keep posting 👍. You are killin'it on your Channel Steph.🔔
Would not be a beautiful Morrow video without the kidos in the background. It reminds me of when my kids were small and me and my friend would make cookies and cakes. I miss those days.
✅ Well done Stephanie & Bri! 🧼 You never know who might make soap next. Probably not me, but Stephanie's instructions covered every question someone might have. Thank you ladies. 🇨🇦❤️🙋🏼♀️🇨🇦
My Mama used to make Lye Soap. I don't remember the details, but she did it the old way, in a big iron pot in the back yard. She used wood ashes to make the lye and added lard. It was used for everything, handwashing, bathing, washing really dirty clothes. It was very good and amazingly gentle on the skin. I grew up with those brown rectangles of soap on hand. This brought back lots of memories I haven't thought about in a very long time.
Have made lye soap back as a young girl with grandma an she used wood ash an made our skin feel great an was fantastic for our hair too! Also use lye making hominy! But really like wood ash best just more natural ! Never made it mixed in water but it makes sense! If not using milk !an we used lard or tallow an she had a huge iron kettle for all of it also did our laundry in that pot !Kim is starting a stand so get some made ahead ! An yes you can sell on line ! Have one ch I watch he makes cold soap but colors an senses his an adds like oat meal an other things but can not get enough ahead to buy any of his !
Glad you’re teaching Bri I remember her mentioning making soap in one of her videos once. I really hope Kim follows through with her farmers market idea. I think it would be a big success.
Afternoon Stephanie and Bri. What a fun informative video with two fab creative mums. Your a very good teacher love your step by step guide for any one who is interested. Your full of many talents and enjoying your videos along the way. Have a great day take care and God Bless. 💕🙏🧑🌾
Very interesting soap making process. I love making different things. Many years ago I made candles. Loved doing it too. Thanks for all your interesting videos. ❤❤❤❤❤
Steph you make it all look so easy and now I want to do this also. Not sure it will turn out for me but you explain it in a way that is so detailed it seems to make me feel like I can do it. Thank you so much and great video❤
Stephanie great video ❤️ you are so talented. I enjoyed watching you and Bri and I learned a lot about making soap. Love y'all and God bless you and your family ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oh I enjoyed this girl time! I want to see the different colors next time Steph please. This was so satisfying to watch! My daughter has did this but I didn't get to see the process but the soap was awesome!
I ❤ it! I might have to try making some soap too. Thanks so much for sharing your soap making skills with us. I saw the lightening out side the windows, perfect activity for a rainy day.⛈☔️ 🛁🛀🧼
I love it. I have been thinking about making soap, and watching it made by people I love makes me want to make it even more. I know you can make honey and oats too and that's so good for your skin. With your honey that you already have that is an idea for you.
That was cool to see from start to finish! Teamwork! I never see a human on Morrow Hill without an animal nearby 😁 If you do venture into goat milk soap (which I've become addicted to) Zion Creek Farm (an ISS survivor) makes wonderful videos and the soaps are like works of art. They are worth checking out for sure. Anyway, love seeing all your collaborations with the family. Audio is always good 👍👏🔊
THANK YOU STEPHANIE FOR SHOWING THE ACTUAL STEPS OF SAPONIFICATION SOAPS. I HAVE BEEN MAKING MY OWN COLD PROCESS SOAPS FOR YEARS NOW AFTER DOING RESEARCH OF RUclips VIDEOS AND READING EVERY BOOK I COULD FIND BUT I NEVER TRUSTED THE LYE PROCESS BECAUSE OF THE CHEMICAL REACTION. ESPECIALLY USING KITCHEN UTENSILS THAT I MIGHT FORGET WERE USED IN THE LYE PROCESS. YOU MADE IT SIMPLE AND I AM NOW GOING TO ORDER NEW STUFF TO GIVE IT A TRY CUZ WAITING 4 MTHS TO CURE - WELL IT GET TO BE A BIT CROWDED. THANK YOU SO MUCH AND SO GLAD YOU GUY'S HAVE JOINED THE TRIBE ON THE HILL.
This is so neat, I’d love to learn how to make my own soap !! I always thought it was a long hard process, I remember my grandma cooking soap in a large cast iron kettle over the fire in her back yard stirring it with a long paddle looking stick, and she used pot ash and I think hog lard and I’m not sure what else ! She wouldn’t let us kid near where she was cooking her soap is what she called it! Step can you recommend a good book on making soap the easy way like your doing with Bri ! I’d definitely buy your soap and chapsticks if you sold them Steph , thanks for another great interesting and informative video!!! God bless ❤️🙏🙋🏻
I think that’s awesome I wouldn’t know how to do it even though you showed me I just don’t think that I can do it but it is awesome God bless you both and your whole family
The soap making was very interesting, although Lye scares me, especially around babies and animals. Great to see you two ladies collaborating on soap and video making. Kashton smiling at the camera was adorable. My goodness those babies are growing up too fast! What would Morrow Hill be without Crocs? 🤣 Those furry pinks ones are adorable. Can’t wear crocs here in winter, snow boots are the footwear of choice here. Thank you for another instructional, education video. You do such a good job explaining the processes you use and why Stephanie! Boy the rain was pouring down and could see lightning through the window. Take care and stay safe y’all ❤️🙏
This is so much fun, thank you for sharing. I will definitely buy stuff from y'all. I've always had real sensitive skin but now have Psoriasis, so this soap would-be perfect.
Pure coconut oil is my favorite it's useful for many things, it's a natural anti-inflammatory great for your hair also olive oil has many great uses also
Yes, I would buy some stuff from your shop and I love the idea that Kim had with Pawpaw also concerning her milk, eggs, and all of Stephanie’s goodies that she makes!!
Stephanie another neat project. I thoroughly enjoyed watching you ad Bri making soap. When my great aunt was alive she raised 4 of us siblings and she would talk about soap making using lye. This brings back memories. Thank you
I thought about making soap… but watching I have decided I should support soap makers. LOL Yes, I know I can do it I am a granddaughter of a Grandmother who did it all. My Grandmother use lye is other things. I remember her making ash soap I think for the boys to use outside. I think she added sand for the grit.
Great job girls 👍 when Bri said , oh it just feels like when insulation touches u, I was thinking u may need to wash off ur arm, LOL Kash is growing way too fast 🥲 he’s such a lil cutie 🥰
