I have a paludarium and that white stuff will bloom in it too. Idk what it is, figured it was mold but whatever it is the spring tails and Isopods eat it. It doesn't grow on my coco fiber background though and that would definitely suck

I'm loving life because I've got probably 30 kiwi plants growing right now and I'm malting out some white corn kernels to hopefully grow some corn before winter... Hopefully it won't freeze too early this year after the late summer this year.

You shouldn't put your leachie in that giant tank he's too young and too small you won't be maximize his growth or health that way, also Exos suck they don't hold humidity at all

I've basically finished my viv and I found a great deal on a sweet extreme harley, kinda tricolor crestie I might be getting next week, from a breeder on morph mkt! I'm so stoked. I have a few plants, five I think, coming in today or tomorrow, some bg cover, ficus pumila quercifolia, a couple of humidity tolerant very colorful tillandsias, an luna red Peperomia caperata (those look insane), and a Peperomia pulchra (?), something pulchra anyway lol, all from NEherp. Aside from those, I have two nice 13" or so sansevierias with about 4 or 5 leaves each, a cool metalicky Begonia rex, salsa cultivar I believe, a Janet Craig dracaena, cause cresties really love those, a couple of neoregelias, red veined fittonias, and a black velvet alocasia, which I sure hope takes off. It seems to be struggling, but I really love that species of alocasia. It's a small three leafer right now. I've resorted to using some plants I'm not at all interested in, but I know cresties love. I think I'm growing to appreciate them more. I've been thinking about making an Instagram account. If I do, I'll post some pics for you to see. It didn't turn out exactly how I wanted but I think it looks really good. I had to reorder microfauna from NEherp because the cultures that came with the substrate kit, which is awesome, we're very sparsely populated and didn't take. They sold em to me at half price, which was quite fair, imo. The weather here turned really cold again, so I hope I don't get the same result as last time. I thought about trying to culture them outside of the tank, in smaller containers, to increase the populations before adding them to the viv, but idk. Anyway, I'm enjoy these old videos. Good luck on your Madagascar trip. I can't wait to see more of your awesome travelogue content.

They aren't poisonous in captivity. Because they are only eating fruit flies which don't contain the toxins that they use in order to become toxic

I get them from a local orchid show, if you live in the states they are pretty easy to find.
that cianobacteria is not fault of the substrate, it's fault of the poor ventalacion inside the aquarium, all my closed terrarium got the same thing
