Great video Aaron. I’ve watched it twice so far and will watch it a 3rd time and take notes. I’m planning on doing New Jersey this year and your video is really helpful with my planning. Your narration and mile marker points are great. I also used your Maryland video to do that section earlier this year. Thank you.

Aaron, thanks for the very nice video. I'm new(ish) to NJ and my kids have become interested in the AT. So I proposed a start by hiking the NJ section. Your video is a really nice educational tool for our planning.
One bit of information I can offer you and other who see this video: At 41:10, when you see the southbound and northbound AT markers and then the S/L and you say "I don't know what that is"...That is the State Line trail that follows the NJ/NY state line down to the roadway along the shore of Greenwood Lake.

Just came across this. I’m from West Milford, the township where the Jersey section of the AT ends. Great video, makes me homesick. The Jersey Highlands are a beautiful place to live. The brooks and streams up there have brook trout in them put there by God, not man. And the first 2 A’s in Wawayanda are long A’s and the last 2 are short A’s.

I too lived in West Milford for 7 years 1985 to 1992. One of the most beautiful places in the state of New Jersey. Hunted and fished the entire area. I remember waywayyanda state park, Greenwood lake, monksville dam. I lived on Bearfort mountain in Bald Eagle Village. There were so many bears around back then I lost count. Shutter to think how many there are today. I now live on Long Island but truly miss that area. Enjoy!

    Hi Aaron.
Watched this again, and enjoyed it even more.
I am impressed with the variety of scenery in NJ, especially the views from along the mountain range.
I really like the way you film, narrate, and organize the story.
This gives me a great view as to what I will face once I finish Pennsylvania.
I plan to do NJ, NY, and CT in one long hike.
However, it is ironic that, if I did NJ only, I was going to hike into NY and exit at Greenwood Lake, NY!
    So, we think alike... :)
