    It's a complete eye sore and as the narrator said at the beginning of this video there is nothing environmentally friendly about building one of these, just the amount of quality steel that goes into them, steel I make at the mill I work at that is anything but green, I know people will say we have electric arc furnaces and they are starting to develop hydrogen powered blast furnaces,,, good luck, I wish you well but for right now we use coal, iron ore, we love coal at the mill, we burn it till it becomes coke and use that in our blast furnaces coal is the best thing I've ever seen this planet make only way to make steel, good steel is from scratch, raw material and it takes a lot of fossil fuels, I welcome something new but we just haven't got there yet.

      @ladyselenafelicitywhite1596 3 года назад

      @Kidreyli I found the thread. I don't know why you didn't just continue there. I reread your four irrelevant points.
      @Kidreyli you're 10 years old?
      There are several problems with what you wrote and I will try and keep this as simple as I can.
      1) Oxygen is not corrosive as it doesn't produce an alkaline or an acid when dissolved in water. It does cause oxidation of certain materials, such as iron.
      2) Carbon Dioxide when dissolved in water produces a mild acid called carbonic acid which is corrosive. It causes the destruction of corral reefs and damages buildings, especially metal, concrete, and cement.
      3) Oxygen makes up appropriately 20% of the Earth's atmosphere. Even if we converted all the Carbon Dioxide into Oxygen and stored the Carbon, we would only add less than 1% extra Oxygen to the atmosphere.
      4) Trees help cool the local environment by creating shade and via a process called transevaporation. This is the same process as how sweat keeps you cool. They also protect crops and animals from heat stress.
      5) Trees help prevent salinization of agricultural fields. Salinization is where an excess of salt ends up in the top soil and prevents crops and grass from growing. When trees are removed the ground water rises to the surface and evaporates, but as it evaporates it leaves the salt it is carrying behind. Whilst this can be dealt with by flooding the fields with fresh water, you have to have an abundance supply of fresh water. It is better to have trees that stop this process from happening.
      6) Trees help prevent desertification. They do this by holding soils and moisture in the ground. They also act as a barrier to sand. For example China is planting the "Great Green Wall" you can find videos about it here on RUclips. Both India and Africa are carrying out similar projects.
      I hope you find this information helpful.
      Edited. I'm always confusing carbolic acid with carbonic acid!

    • @ladyselenafelicitywhite1596
      @ladyselenafelicitywhite1596 3 года назад

      @Kidreyli continued, as for your four points.
      1) Ecosia funds the planting of Mangrove forest. Those forests protect fish and other aquatic life as well as acting as spawning grounds.
      2) Trees provide food for forests dwelling animals including bears and bees.
      3) Plastic pollution is a separate issues and can be tackled via different charities.
      Look at the links I have been posting!
      This website supports charities ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ that removes ocean plastic pollution...*
      Please also consider using thenonprofits website. It can also be found as 70 clicks to donate. All the clicks cost you nothing as they use advertising money. They plant trees, protect forests, and help many humanitarian causes. 🙂😘
      *They also have links that fund projects that protect turtles, dolphins, whales, coral reefs, and encourage sustainable fishing policies.

    • @ladyselenafelicitywhite1596
      @ladyselenafelicitywhite1596 3 года назад

      @Kidreyli I'm sorry, my intention wasn't to be rude. You'll have to forgive my bluntness.
      I am aware that carbon monoxide is dangerous, but not particularly relevant to our conversation. Most of the historical sources of carbon monoxide have been dealt with via modern technology.

    • @ladyselenafelicitywhite1596
      @ladyselenafelicitywhite1596 3 года назад

      @Kidreyli oxygen levels have been as high as 30% of the Earth's atmosphere. However, even if we converted all the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere into carbon and oxygen, the amount of oxygen in the atmosphere would increase from approximately 20% to 21%
      The problem is you're using the wrong words. Oxygen is an oxidizing agent so will "corrode" certain materials. However, that process is called oxidation. Carbon Dioxide is corrosive as it produces carbonic acid when dissolved in water.

    Question please ,regarding how turbines work
    As the outer portions of the blades travel really fast , many hundreds of KMH, I’m puzzled as to how the prevailing wind, (possibly only 50 KMH ) can make it spin so fast, or rather how is the fastest travelling portion of the blade actually helping with the turbine, ?? I can’t sort out why it’s not hindering the speed and power production 🥺🤯

    • @kasperimerandersen3755
      @kasperimerandersen3755 3 года назад

      It is all about the amount of energy contained in the wind. Looking at the turbine from the front, the blades are designed to capture as much energy as possible from the incoming wind, while the leading edge of the blade is designed to be as aerodynamic as possible.

      I know how difficult it is for a car (no matter how aerodynamic) to travel faster than 300 kph the wind resistance increases expadentially the faster you go, and these fan blades (the outer portions) travel over 500 kph. ? 🤯🤯

      If the blade was against the wind at the same angle from center to tip, you would be correct; it would not be beneficial due to the difference in wing speed. So they correct for that by making the blade angle more and more shallow as it gets toward the tip. That way, the forward push by the wind is the same all along the blade.

Suction piles aren't the noisy pain in the arse to install that driven piles are but they aren't free to install and they weren't supplied by carbon neutral elves either.
    Political Statement: the AGW crowd are inherently dishonest. If the AGW crowd were honest and devoted to technical accuracy they would include the CO2 debit that energy sources disingenuously deemed green start life with as well as the CO2 debit to dismantle existing fossil fuel energy plants. But unsurprisingly the AGW crowd like every radical revolution before it draws a huge amount of its support from folks who are profoundly ignorant concerning the system they believe the dismantling of will benefit everyone.

      Yes, though my quick literature research hints that the positive effects are not that clear in general. While there may be spill-over effects to the surrounding, they aren't guaranteed in all locations. There is also the risk of attracting invasive species, which could have net negative effects. More research needed.

      Certainly there is no promise of habitat creation. At least there is no chance of a spill or well blow out like sometimes happens with other energy platforms in the ocean.

      @@insectbite1714 You obviously don't understand anything about how turbines are made or how they work.
      1. Just your statement of "they make global warming" is just nonsensical. Everything contributes to global warming. Some things more than others. Like burning oil, gas or coal just to spin a turbine. When you can get the same outcome with just using the wind itself.
      2. Most wind farm that are built (at least in the US) are put up in areas that have already been terraformed or cultivated by agriculture. Agriculture is the biggest contributer (Mainly Beef livestock) to deforestation. So if you actually cared about trees you'd stopped eating beef.
      3. I don't know where you get the idea of Methane coming from wind turbines. I think you have some wires crossed upstairs. If you're against Methane leaks, then you should be against using fossil fuels to produce electricity.
      If you're going to argue against wind power. At least bring some actual facts next time.
