- Today I installed the Raxiom Vector V2 Taillights on 05-09 s197 Mustang GT. I did a side by side comparison with my old V1 vectors to show the differences in appearance and overall build quality. I definitely think the V2 vectors look better but they are quite expensive. I've heard that many people have problems with the V1 vectors (including me) so the V2 seem like a logical step if you like the s550 taillight look. Hopefully they last!

Good Video. Anyone who gets the V2 please post back here if they malfunction like the V1's. I know I'm not the only one on the fence about dropping another $400 after getting burned on the V1's. I'll probably wait another 6 months and if no problems arise, I'll bite. They are awesome when they work.
Yo I have the V2. In general it’s amazing on my S197. Love the looks, but I’ve found that they turn off by themselves after hitting the brakes a certain way, or if you hit the brakes while running the parking lights. This could be a “my shitbox” issue, but it’s a mildly annoying one at least, and a fixit ticket at worst. Could be a short in my system, or a short in the tails idk. Thinking about calling Raxiom at this point, I’ve been trying to figure it out now for two months.

KAIDEN, I just found you and it’s incredible. We both drive an S197 mustang and I also own a VW Cabriolet. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the cabriolet on your channel. Nice vid. Content again !!! I got those 400.00 dollar v2’s 💸💸💸, haven’t installed them yet , I’m waiting for the carbon fiber badge less panel another 💸💸💸$200.00 give or take 20 or 30 bucks . I been waiting for someone to do a install video showing the finished install , and after watching ur video I’ve decided to wait til the carbon fiber panel arrives ... I think the panel finishes the look I’m going for 🤷🏼♂️ but anywho thx again for the dope content 💥😬🤙🏼

Just picked up a pair of raxiom gen 5's. Had the hardest time trying to decide between them and the vectors. Those V2' s look so much better.

Gen 5 and v2 vectors are the best tails for these cars hands down. Either of them look badass.

I like them a lot. I own a set of Gen V's and a set of white V1's that suffer from the same "work when I feel like it" attitude as yours that I'm gonna junk. I went back to the stocks for now because they really blend with the aftermarket 3rd brake light I'm running, but will be watching the V2's for quite a while to see if they are better built before I donate another $400+ to American Muscle. Though I really don't like the fact that I'd be spending nearly $900 bucks to get one set of working Vector tail lights.

That V2 gives a great combination of retro looks with new technology. I was considering trading out my Gen 5 Raxioms for these, and this video helped confirm my decision! Now to save up some bucks...

@@edmundiverson6377 okay thanks main let me know if your dude doesn’t fall through , I want those gen 5 raxions , just put the v2 vectors to peep em’ tonight , man so worth the 4 hundo , but I like those gen 5’s so much too , and they only took me like 15 20 min.to complete the removal and switch , so next time should only take 5 to 10 min. updates the s197 well , carbon fiber badgeless decklid panel on the way , when these suppliers gets them in , im scooping em’ 🤷🏼♂️can’t wait , thick ass piece of carbon fiber from the pics I’ve seen in advertisements , seen some bad reviews though , on the fitment , hope they don’t send me a badly done or one that’s rushed ... it’s like about two bills gove or take 39 or 40 bucks plus the shipping on them too , 💸💸💸but I think they have trouble keeping them in stock ...👌🏼🔥 gt is going be looking lovely 🔥👌🏼😬🤜🏻💥🤫🤙🏼
@@allancooper3865 the gen 5 are badass. I have them on my 07 gt500 with a smooth carbon fiber decklid panel and it looks sick. I Def like the v2s second best those are for sure the best 2 tails available for these cars but the way gen 5 look during the day and the night is tough to beat.

Been rocking my v2's for months. When they first dropped they were 350 ( cheaper than gen 5). But use klarna app and pay over time.

Yes the vector twos look so much better then the vector ones. Thought about having them turn in to three back up lights too only then there would be no brake lights. Do your two reds show brake lights when in reverse ? Thank.you so much for doing this video and showing the very nice difference. Do you have any thoughts on changing the truck rear view mirrors ?
Yes the two reds show brake lights in reverse. I replaced my side mirrors a while back and the look is cool but depending on which aftermarket mirror option you go with, you might experience a loss in visibility. My MMD side mirrors have terrible visibility so I always look over my shoulder

It happens naturally. Condensation in the atmosphere can get inside the housings if they’re not sealed properly. It happens to aftermarket taillights a lot

I bought the stripe kit on American muscle. I’m not sure what they’re called. Pretty sure they’re just generic Ford panel clips. If you go to AutoZone or some other auto parts store they usually sell big packs of them

Great video bro and awesome build! I got the v1’s however when I go into reverse gear the reverse bulb don’t turn on. Do you have any idea what I did wrong or what I could do to fix it? Thank you
Did you put the reverse bulbs into them? The V1s don’t come with bulbs
@@kaidanodom yeah i used the same reverse light bulbs and over time only one of them comes on now. I imagine it’s an electrical issue I’ll have to take care of

Hey Brother, thanks for this video. So here we are about 1 year has gone by....how are these V2 hanging on? Any condensation? Issues?
They’ve been great for me! Still function perfectly and no condensation. Last summer they survived 100+ degree weather for a few weeks straight and they just survived an Oregon winter where it rained every day for like 2 months straight and snowed a few times as well. I definitely recommend them, and I bought them myself so I’m not being paid or sponsored to say that 👍

I was wondering what was going on with the old ones you had because I have the same ones on mine rn and they are giving me a whole bunch of issues like randomly going out intermittently and flickering and it’s just getting so frustrating. Did you experience the same things? Also with these new ones would you need to run a load resistor?
I had all those same issues and the taillights got condensation in them. You don’t need a load resistor because the light is plug and play. Any required resistors are built into the lights

How are these V2 holding up? I went through 2 pairs of the v1s within 6 months where they would stop working randomly. Which was seriously dangerous as all hell! I returned them for a refund after the 2nd pair died. Wondering if they fixed them on v2? I love the look but can’t be using stuff that’s gonna go out like that
The V2s are great. Had them for a couple years now and haven’t had a single issue.

It’s in the my color option on all the mustang GTs after 2005
@@kaidanodom it isn't on all mustang gts just the premiums I believe? Def not on base models. I think even the s550 was like that when you have the analog gauges.

I had the V1's doing the same malfunctions,,,, one or both inop at start up. You usually can fix by turning the car off and back on that like resets the tail lights. I finally sent the V1's back to the
company that I bought them and from and they sent me a new set out. That was about a year ago and I am still having issues with the tail lights function...one out or both at start up. But they do reset and end up both working. I believe they come with a 2 year warranty. May try a warranty claim on these I have.

@@kaidanodom When you use your turn signal / hazards, they turn slightly orangish yellow. Or is that just on the camera? Take a look at exactly 6:36 or 7:17. (I understand there you're not using your turn signals, it just looks amber.)

Bruh it’s just a few hundred bucks it’s a good cheap mod. OEM lights on the s550 are like 2k for a pair.

The halos are LEDs but the actual headlight is halogen
Maybe it's just me but these don't look right on an older s197 it feels like the equivalent of putting 5.0 badges on a V6
Alas, I also was duped by those trash vectors😑😑😑😑. I heard about the problems with them, so I bought an “improved” set off eBay from a 3rd party lighting company that supposedly fixed the problem and warranted them. They lasted about a month. I guess I should have known better for $280🙄🙄🙄.
