There is no specific time period to learn Fund accounting, it’s a vast area. But within 2 to 3 months you can learn the basic concepts and different fund structures. Having said that, you can gain more knowledge when you perform the activity on a daily basis.
Fund accounting is basically keeping the books of records. FA will take into accounts of all assets and liabilities of the fund and the capital activities, then it will arrive at the NAV of the funds. Dividend is a part of Corporate action itself and as it is an Income to the fund, this is considered under "Income".
