Had run out of electrolyte mix and our health food store was out of it as well. Came across this video and made it on the spot. The packet mix has a yucky sweetish after taste. This ain’t too bad. Will make it again. Thanks Dr. Berg.

Thank you for your help,my brain feels like it's shrunk and I am not thinking straight. I have not had much to drink over the past few days. I hope this helps me. Thanks
Ironically, dehydration is not solved just by drinking plain water. The exercise regime through sweating takes out those important electrolytes (potassium, magnesium, sodium, calcium); the whole point of electrolyte drinks is to specifically replenish these depleted electrolytes which cannot be done with plain water. In fact, the plain water will make a dehydrated person sicker.
Some brands of baking powder have aluminum so, check the labels before buying. UPDATE: Or did you mean "baking SODA" as some of the commenters suggest? Would be a good idea to put an annotation correcting this in the video if YT still HAS annotations. I haven't done that in a while myself so, I'm not sure that's available anymore. If it's not, perhaps you can put a correction in the details then, that being the case (that you MEANT baking soda). Anyhow... all the best.
I unload trucks at FedEx and since May I've required a quart of water ever hour, due to the heat. I have been getting muscle cramps and I almost passed out Thursday. Two questions: (1) Would you recommend a liquid droplet supplement to add to my water? and (2) Can you recommend a do-it-yourself mineral replacement drink without fruit juice? I can't handle the sugar.
Always carry a small packet of GOOD PURE SEA SALT at ALL times, no matter the type of weather! IF it doesn't save your life, it just may save someone elses! Just add water, but if you happen to have LEMON or LIME, add it to DOUBLE ITS POTENCY!!

Baking powder had me confused for a sec as well.. Baking Soda: Baking soda is a popular supplement among athletes, who also call it sodium bicarbonate. Baking soda may help delay fatigue due to its high pH, letting you perform at max intensity for longer. The baking soda provides sodium bicarbonate to the body which reduces acidity and helps muscles recover quickly.

Wouldn’t ingesting baking soda make your stomach and system more alkaline? Aren’t you at risk for alkalosis after vomiting and diarrhea? If not, what are the benefits of drinking baking soda?
@@tonygayle1958 Baking powder is just soda with a solid acid added to start the reaction (for the use of getting "air" into baking), so it does the same like soda, since you already have acid in your stomache. So, if you are having reflux, adding a CO2 yielding base is not the best idea.

If someone is already taking mineral pill supplements such as zinc , magnesium , calcium , potassium , sodium ect etc through out the day, every single day, is it still necessary to purchase ELECTROLYTES beverages after a good sweat from a gym workout ? or would their body already be covered from the minerals they already take through out the day every single day?
Should already be covered unless your body doesn't work so well. My husband is a quadriplegic with heart problems, he takes vitamins and the doctor gave us this recipe to help more, his body doesn't work so well
Cranberry Juice does not have as much potassium, which is important for this electrolyte drink. If you don't like orange, try Apricot Juice. Hope that helps!
i believe it should be baking soda not powder? Baking soda makes the body more alkaline and baking powder has aluminum in it two different things. My grandmother used to drink water and baking soda for acid indigestion as do I.

Are people aware, that the baking powder does react with ascorbic and citric acid from citric fruits? If the intention for this drink to be a lil bit alkaline, I can tell you, this mix is actually slightly acidic, I would estimate the pH value to be between 4 and 5. But if that is intentional, I would stir it well, so that the CO2 yielding reaction is finished, to prevent your stomache to fill up with gas.
Baking powder has strong electrolytic properties. Here is the NHS recipe: 1 litre water, 1tsp salt, half tsp baking powder, 6 tsp sugar (that's not many calories don't fret).
