@ClassicSoloSpotlight Instinct? You must have become quite familiar with Malmsteen's phrasing from transcribing so much of his stuff, that you can more easily pick out his faster sequences. Like, "oh, I see what he's doing here," without the need to slow it down or anything... Me on the other hand, I need to slow it down and try and catch each note and build the entire phrase from scratch. But on FBTS I have noticed a few phrases he uses over and over.
@@JakeFortel Well, the more you listen, the more you transcribe ...as long as you test and audition every lick yourself, to train your fingers... the more you develop instincts for his pattern choices ... eventually you just know where any given lick or patterns is placed on the neck... instantly. Because, Yngwie, like the rest of us, is a creature of habit. Which is typical of any great improviser. If you get the notes right, but not the correct fingerings and positions, the result is like those old Wolf Marshall books... decent but not accurate. But once you learn to recognize and notice his position and box patterns, his playing just opens up for you like a book ... a nice old leatherbound book.
And it's very good that you build every phrase from screatch. That's how you learn. There are no shortcuts. Now, add in a few vintage videos to catch his positioning patterns, and you'll be on your way.
Amazing, as always. Reproducing anyone's else improvised playing isn't comfortable, but with YJM we're near to the impossible… To caught the spirit and the feeling of the song and make it yours… Such an accomplishment, well done, Peter :)
Absolutely amazing. Congratulations. I will not say that this song is or was underrated but it is for sure a masterpiece that many people do not paid the well deserved attention…at least yet even being almost 40yo. Congratulations again
I never was too fond of this song, but you gotta give credit where credit is due. This cover is, just like your other covers, so stupendously accurate it's getting scary. Small, intricate vibrato dynamics, legato exactly where Yngwie played it, consecutive downstrokes where Yngwie played them, you heard all these things and you grinded every passage to make this cover. This just oozes talent. Bravo!
Great job. I was actually doing something on another window and this came up randomly in the background, and I never would have thought it was a cover until I heard the improvisation. Beautifully done!
Only four words to define this piece: AMAZING INTENSE PURE PLEASURE. As always, great fabulous choice...Congratulations and lot of thanks for spreadind the feeling!!!
One of my Malmsteen's masterpieces and my favorite from the guitar god. And you nailed it right from every bit and detail. Great work on your fretboard !!!
Absolutely amazing, Peter. Bravo, and Well done ! Not only is your technical mastery on full display, but also your excellent tone, attention to details of the performance, as well as professional production value of the video. Very clear, and superbly recorded. Any chance you might consider tackling Yngwie's "Flamenco Diablo" on acoustic? He never performed it live, nor are there any legitimate covers of this piece on RUclips. There is, however, a rather blatant and shameful Fake, in which the guitarist is shown playing, however the audio is simply the studio recorded version by Yngwie. Shameless, really. In any event, cheers, and please keep the great performances coming. :)
Thank you for the kind words. I'll have to check out that acoustic piece, I've never heard it. In the meantime you will have some acoustic YJM from "Disciples from hell" (and later on "Trilogy Suite") upcoming.
Here's an update for you Chester: I did some looking around and between all the strange videos of people with Covid masks, bass players and dancing videos of spanish girls, I heard a really nice instrumental that I haven't heard before. So thank you for that, I think I'm gonna do this one. I'm not fond of that super compressed acoustic tone Yng uses, so I'm going to try to do it with a more natural steel string sound. It'll be a fun challenge. /Peter
@@ClassicSoloSpotlight That is awesome, Peter. I am glad you enjoyed it. It is a real sleeper, by Yngwie. Very much looking forward to your interpretation. Cheers, John
hi ! I come now and then to check out your videos ; amazed every time. I cannot imagine the strenght of the commitment to your instrument to perform the way you do. Extreme generosity to your listeners ! Whatever ... My question : do you play classical guitar too ? I am thinking of something like "saturday nite in san francisco" (Al di Meola, Paco de Lucia, John Mc Laughlin...) ?
Thank you. I'm actually very lazy and I hate to practice ;-) Yes, I know most of Elegant Gypsy and Mediterranean sundance. Though I would call it more spanish/fusion than classical. Cheers
Amazing Job; the best cover on youtube. this is one of my favorites but the definitive Yngwie song for me is krakatau a very bitching song as the man himself would say 😁 too bad he never played it live as far as I'm aware
Krakatau is great. Obviously his tone and playing was a bit rawer and "sloppier", straight after the accident, but there's actually some superb melodic soloing on the album. A lot of heart and soul which fit the songs well.
Amazing play! The song is one of the most underrated song by Yngwie. I have loved the song since 1986.
Thank you very much. I consider "Crying" a true masterpiece of guitar dynamics and musicality.
It's definitely a masterpiece!!!
It's not a song, McFly.
It's a composition.
Yngwie makes it sound 80’s and the 1700’s. Unique
Neo classical😂
Holy sh..! That was insanely accurate playing...a true masterpice👍
Man kan inte bli annat än imponerad…. Jag tror Yngwie själv skulle vara nöjd och hedrad över denna prestation👍 ❤
That's the most accurate cover of that song I've ever heard !! BRAVO !!!
Nice and tasteful... one of the first YJM tunes I learned in the 80's as a teenager.
Thank you. It's a personal highlight for me.
Incredible, yjm tone and vibrato on this is from anothet planet.
The best song by Malmsteen. I never saw played live by him. Thank you!
You're very welcome
Omfg! This is one of my most favorite Yngwie tracks! Amazing cover! You really nailed it! Right on!🤙🏽
Perfect Perfect Perfect.... You are the best Cover!!!!
So good I’m speechless.
The patience you must have to scrub every single note until it aligns with the specific tone and rhythm of the original recording is so inspiring!
It's a fun process. I mainly coast along on instinct & ears. Listen carefully, play carefully. Rinse & repeat as needed. Good headphones help.

@ClassicSoloSpotlight I'll take another look at some of his late 80's videos. I noticed he played a bit closer to album at that time.
I never get tired of this masterpiece
A masterpiece indeed
Amazing, as always. Reproducing anyone's else improvised playing isn't comfortable, but with YJM we're near to the impossible… To caught the spirit and the feeling of the song and make it yours… Such an accomplishment, well done, Peter :)
Thank you very much Jeremie. Bien dit comme toujours.
Amazingly played man......and I love the Chicken Pick incorporated onto your Neo Classic Play
Great! One of my favourite Yngwie numbers, and you truly did it justice. Excellent control and perfect technique.
Just beautiful...And perfect as always... 👍
Excellent use of pup switching... Great video!

This was the Yngwie tune that hooked me, so many years ago
Great job! Spot on playing, man.
Thank you sir
Absolutely amazing. Congratulations. I will not say that this song is or was underrated but it is for sure a masterpiece that many people do not paid the well deserved attention…at least yet even being almost 40yo. Congratulations again
Thank you, it's a personal favourite

Many thanks. Much appreciated.
Agreed, very impressive. Would love to see a bit of classical vibrato thrown in as well.
Lol how can you not like this song? Clean your ears dude, with all respect.
I was more fond of some of his songs with vocals like Fire, On The Run Again, Magic Mirror. Great hooks
As a long time guitarist i can only dream of reaching this level of mastery!!
Amazing work 🤝
AMAZING!!!!! You got a subscribed!! Congrats from Brazil!!!!
The Odyssey tour was probably my favorite show I saw with Joe Lynn on vocals...it was mind blowing! Super cover my guy!!!
with Joe Lynn Turner it was Odyssey
You are correct, and I saw that tour as well, thanks!
Awesome technique, well played.
Super cool rendition 🎉 🤟🏽
Excelente... parabéns pelo trabalho!
Well done sir. Very well done. Your interpretation was spot on. This song is very melodic and is one of the Maestro's most underrated songs.
Thank you. I tried to do this masterpiece justice.
Great job. I was actually doing something on another window and this came up randomly in the background, and I never would have thought it was a cover until I heard the improvisation. Beautifully done!
