I've had to do that every year since 1978. I have to do another one this weekend.
Two of my elans have Mikunis. They can have problems too.
We got a couple out on Sunday. Had a blast.

On the twin cylinders, I just take the entire intake off. It's two M8 nuts no need for the special bent wrench. the gaskets from manifold to head are rubber, so you can just put a dab of grease to tack them in place and re use them.

Good video. How’s that twin compare to the single? Got a twin that’s a little rough, trying to figure out if I want to fix her up.

It's a different kind of power! Hahaha. I like the twin because it's not such a violent vibration, but then again, that's half the fun with the elans! They both have their place!

The twin is a little heavier, but I couldn't give you an exact number! In 1971 the élans singles total dry weight was approximately 246pounds (I'm assuming with an almost empty tank) in 72-73 they got a bit heaver with thicker frames and of course when they put the twin on them. Thanks for watching!
