As a fence company owner of a company that's been in business for 3 decades- we literally have a video on our page detailing why never to buy your fence from a box store. The posts are thinner, the fabric is a thinner mesh with larger diamonds giving less support, they recommend putting a line post every 10 feet, and on and on. Yes, the cost of a fence has become almost prohibitive to the am American consumer. When I started we could install a good quality residential chain link for $4/ ft, now that same galvanized chain link fence is closer to $18/ft. It's sad, really. Thank you for posting this video.
Man I want to do my 2 acre yard had a dog show up on my deck about a week ago. Idk if it was mean or what it was just staring at my kid and cats. By the time I got the stove situated to go investigate (maybe 90 seconds) . That dog was long gone like a fart in the wind. At first I was like oh no big deal. Till I saw a video posted of a dog running up on a guy in his OWN yard barking and looking mean AF. What if my kid and wife were outside without me there?????
I installed about 450 feet of chain link that’s 5 feet high and I spent a little over $4k on it but that was 3 years ago and not vinyl coated. Lowes was more expensive but the gauge was twice as thick as Home Depot. For $3 more per post I got twice the gauge from Lowes. But I’ve found Home Depot’s always cheaper because their stuff is lower quality. I’ve done a lot of concrete work and I wouldn’t recommend just dumping water into the dry mix in the ground because too much water will cause it to be brittle over time. It needs to be a thick mix if try and do that.
Excellent analysis, thanks! 👌 Just a small off-topic question: 😅 I have these words 🤨. (behave today finger ski upon boy assault summer exhaust beauty stereo over). Not sure how to use them, would appreciate help. 🙏
This is awesome! Im buying a large (resalvaged) chainlink fence this weekend and I want to have good negotiating information. Could you share that farm company with me so I can see how much the fence would cost new? Thanks!
I need 100 foot installed in front of my house should be an easy installation since I already have a wooden fence on the side and another chain-link where it can meet in to the neighbors really for now I would just like to have a chain-link gate in front of my driveway to keep outsiders out like that for now
I'm going to make mine out of PVC FENCING (diy) & hope to come out a LITTLE CHEAPER but If Not then I can say it will LAST a WHOLE LOT longer with what I have in mind of what I want.
I bought my material straight from the manufacturer. Installed my total cost per linear feet of fence was around 5 dollars. I don't know where everyone is shopping but you are all getting screwed. You can get everything cheap from Alibaba folks. You made a good video though. Warning people of places that will really give a purchaser a rogerin.
I installed a 4’ High by 80’ long fence with a 4’ x 3.5’ gate, poles, miscellaneous hardware, 13 bags 60 lb. bags of concrete. $620.00 This would have been considerably less, if it were not for the low supply, due to the “Pandemic”. Be prepared to raise your hands when you walk into the store.

Great VIdeo! Thank you! Can you name the farming supply company?
What's the contact info for the farm supply company you used?
I never buy steel from lowes or homedepot. The price are crazy high per lb.

Foam fill the pipe 😉 and cement fill all posts
The simplest ideas are always the best lol
What's the purpose of the foam fill? Does it stiffen the pipe? (without adding the weight of concrete?)
Great vid.
No links??
Thank You
How deep for 8 foot poles
How for 6 foot poles
Sir how much it may cost for 25cents...
I will tell you for the small fee of one quarter
can you share the info for the farm supply company?
It's called the Dutchman Farm Supply in Barnett, MO. I think the owner orders his fencing from a supplier out of Kansas City area, but I'm not sure.
Bro, thank you.
