CIGI Campus Celebration, featuring K'naan

CIGI founder and chair Jim Balsillie and Somali-Canadian recording artist K'naan were among those who participated in the CIGI Campus Celebration, held on September 16, 2011. Guests also included 200 community leaders from the academic, not-for-profit, business, technology and public sectors. The celebration kicked off a week of activities to mark the near-completion of the new campus, as well as CIGI's 10th anniversary. For a special rendition of his song 'Wavin' Flag,' K'naan and his band were backed by a children's choir, composed of students from schools in Waterloo and Toronto.
