I can't believe Darla is having Wesley's baby! I didn't snap to it till I remembered that line when Angel was able to tell Wes had sex with a bleached blonde by scent.
Her shock and surprise seeing Darla pregnant at the end was refreshing. 😂
Such a shame The Master won't be around to see his grandchild, especially as he was so good with The Annoying One.

Now that Angel and Buffy are on different networks I wouldn’t expect to hear the two shows referencing each other very much. Notice they only said Buffy’s name towards the end and only during the one conversation. Angel being not all that sad about Buffy dying is a sign to me that the show is really trying to move away from the Buffy/Angel soulmates thing.
I love Phantom Dennis. He makes a great roommate.
If only they would listen to him. So much could have been avoided.
It is a bit weird though that he's always around for Cordy's bathtime...ahem.

Dennis is a guy ghost, so sure, he probably enjoys seeing Cordy naked. But if Cordy doesn't care, neither should we. And it isn't like he's 'touching' her, he's just trying to make things easier for her. He's the best.
This is my second favorite Angel season, it has a lot of great episodes, plot lines and best of all it really gets into the characters.

Vampire hunters are not the same as Vampire Slayers. Vampire Slayers are supernatural creatures in their own right. Always a girl with super powers. Vampire Hunters are just regular humans, either male or female. It's more of a job.

@@phoenixmagi2 Once in this episode. And that was the point. This was the first episode BtVS and AtS were on different networks and the two networks wanted to distinguish them, but the writers had to acknowledge they were not only the same universe, but that Buffy had just died. Luckily, the idea of not saying her name until the end fed into the character and plot. There are many times they almost say her name and then stop, thus rthe _try not to say Buffy's name_ reference and the laughing emoji.

Vampire Slayers, the chosen ones, in a long line of Slayers ARE always women. Holtz is a vampire hunter, as anyone could be (though he's skilled at it).
I remember reading a comment from another channel. They explained it like this. Angel won the trials to get Darla a second chance at life.
But she was already given a 2nd chance. They owed them that life.
That time they had that one night stand that life was given to them w she was able to conceive.
Dont know if this is canon in the buffyverse.

My theory - remember the Trials that Angel went through to give Darla a second chance at life...only to discover that they couldn't because she was already living her second chance? I think whatever powers govern that stuff needed to balance the scales due to Angel's success, and they did so by making it possible for Darla and Angel to create a child - a brand new life, instead of a new life for Darla herself.
I thought Heartthrob was a really strong opener. Again in this show we get to see Angel himself as a more richer character, as opposed to the one dimensional character he was in BTVS. A great scene on the subway train mirroring Spike's scene in BTVS episode Fool For Love with the Slayer from 1977. A startling reveal at the end with Darla being pregnant, the consequences of which will drive this Season insane! A good bit of comedy before that with Darla sucking the lime after biting man at the bar. Great comedy moment too when Angel tells Fred to get back in her room after trying to get her out of it before. S3 is great with some brilliant plot lines building, and of course we have the team growing now with 5 regulars at this point, giving the show much more scope.
Angel did earn that extra life in The Trial episode.
