"I hope for all of you that you find a partner, that when you say her name people applaud like you've won an olympic event." -- Nick Offerman I admire the love and adoration Nick has for Megan.
Offerman is the reason I got into woodworking when I got neuro long Covid in 2020 and have been disabled ever since. He gave me a purpose to keep learning new things and I will forever be grateful. I started with a hand plane and am still making only boxes 😆
Picking up hobbies, especially when you're sick, is soo good for your mental health, which in turn helps your overall health. And making things is a way to feel a purpose, even when you can't value yourself in the most common way society puts a value on you; your work. I am really happy Offerman helped you, and I hope you get better soon! I used to read all the books when I was younger, as a frequently hospitalized youth. There wasn't really a choice since there wasn't internet and not all rooms had working TVs (and I was that kid with her nose in a book anyway). But there came a time where I was too mentally worn down to read and I picked up some of my room mates knitting needles in my early twenties, and I haven't quit since. I do a lot of other crafts and DIYs, but nothing as frequent and stable as knitting.
Glad you found the joy of woodworking! Consider coming to Makers Camp next year. It's a good time with all of us like minded folks hanging out and chatting over a few days in the beautiful Catskills.
Love that Seth gave Nick his flowers for his amazing episode on The Last of Us even with the strike. Both Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett deserve all the praise they get and more for that masterpiece of an episode.
whenever I encounter an instance of toxic masculinity/adolescent boys being weirdly specifically sexist, I say to myself in my head in Offerman's voice "son, one day you may well be a man. But today is not that day" and it makes me feel marginally better.
Have always appreciated Offerman the carpenter, actor, comic timing genius. When I read his book and found out he’s in a bromance with Jeff Tweedy, my appreciation went through the roof.
8:03 I liked how Seth didn't made him or let him say anything about "the thing that he did", but moved immediately to goodbyes. That way he didn't need to get around it or be awkward about it
@@caronstout354I had never heard of the game, and went into the show blissfully unaware of it, or how the storyline played out. When Mr Offerman’s part had run its course I genuinely wept, and it took me weeks to process that story arc and get back to the show. I genuinely have immense respect for him as a fellow woodworker & fellow maybe midwesterner, I aspire to be as well versed and well read as him, and I’m continually awestruck, genuinely, at both his comedic with and acting ability, from the silly to the profoundly dramatic. He is the model of what I hope my sons grow up to be…
I feel like this man was great at playing a hard ass, dont care character but in real life, he is reminding young men who feel that being like is character is necessary to be a man, to slow down, look around, and take a deep breath. Enjoy the world you're living in and do it with love and respect to everyone and everything.
That thing Nick did on that show with that other man, was so amazing, it made me do this thing where these wet things fall out of the things that I use to see other things.
Holy crud, I forgot that this man is friends with GEORGE SAUNDERS, the best writer alive today and one of the best ever. I think Nick did parts on the audiobook for Lincoln in the Bardo. Lucky man
Just adding in case anyone is interested-canoeing or kayaking the L.A. river is a really important act which some environmental activists undertake : if it is shown to be a navigable waterway it is eligible for national clean-up resources
Great guests! Have loved Siobhan's appearances for decades in film, always brilliant and unique performances. Will look for her new film with great expectations. And equally fascinating Nick Offerman is aways a joy as well. Though I have enjoyed his performances for years, I'm still reeling from his incredible role in HBO's Last of us. The emotional intensity and sensitivity was so impactful. And just the mental image of he and Megan Mullally together makes my heart sing.
I just take his not wearing a suit as a further extension of the sloppiness that has afflicted America. It’s sad when the guest is better dressed than the host.
Megan Mullaly is one smart, and fortunate cookie! Nick Offerman is a man like Whitman would have loved. He is masculine, funny as hell, kind, interested in learning, and in love with nature. He is the perfect man (I am certain he has flaws I cannot know about. But if a woman like Megan has loved him for this long, he is worth it!) #besthollywoodcouple
He brings up something that we humans tend to forget! We are literally nothing more than hairless ape’s. Falsely thinking that we are separate from nature! We are not!
This is THE Modern Renaissance Man. I model myself as a father after Nick. Oh. Hey. Seth's there, too. Huh. Anyway, Offerman brings a story about Girth Fresturae the Chef AND shaving before Colonel Angus? He's the man.
Can’t recommend SIP (Sub-irrigated planter) enough. Watering from underneath the plants for all sorts of reasons. Take a horse trough Make a rain gutter empty in the trough. Use a 4” bi-metal hole saw 1/3 of the way up from the bottom. That’s bottom of the hole. Install your 4” corrugated pipe. Your going to want to make sure that’s permeable. The water needs to flow through. Connect the end of the gutter to the hole on the inside. Then French drain the water from there with non permeable pipe. Connect them on the inside with silicone doesn’t have to pretty. Line the bottoms up to the same level as the existing pipe. Fill with a spaugmum moss, warm casting, perlite mix, something like a clackamus coots recipe. Stage is set. Plant what you want. I had a okra plant with a trunk as girthy as my wrist.
He brought his tour to his old alma mater, University of Illinois in Urbana, where he also built a gazebo for Japan House, where he learned woodworking, among other things, from a professor there who was a big influence on him, very interesting.

I admire the love and adoration Nick has for Megan.
I never get tired of this man and his giggles.
His giggles are the best !! 🤩
To make him giggle must be the most sublime feeling in the world.
Same.
Nick is awesome. Seth and his brother seem like smug weirdos.
Offerman is the reason I got into woodworking when I got neuro long Covid in 2020 and have been disabled ever since. He gave me a purpose to keep learning new things and I will forever be grateful. I started with a hand plane and am still making only boxes 😆
@khallo151
I'm sorry you were disabled but it's awesome you turned it into something positive!
hey!! a fellow covid long hauler in the wild!! i started picking up random hobbies too

I’m so sorry that you are struggling with long Covid. Kudos to challenging yourself. Woodworking is not for the faint of heart!

I’m slightly biased to Murray to win the Emmy but I think Nick will win. If neither of them win, we storm the academy
I was wondering what the heck he was talking about there, thanks.
That was such a great episode and he was fantastic!
Best episode of the show. And it's a good show.
@@tvtomsthats why I looked through the comments just to find out what he was talking about. It's been so long since The Last of Us
I love him and Megan Mullally together. They're perfect! ❤️🤗
I love that he never fails to shoutout Megan. 💗💗
whenever I encounter an instance of toxic masculinity/adolescent boys being weirdly specifically sexist, I say to myself in my head in Offerman's voice "son, one day you may well be a man. But today is not that day" and it makes me feel marginally better.
Can I just say that I read your post (in my head) in Ron Swanson’s voice !
Same here
U should say it to the offending individuals in his voice 😅
I like when interviewers assume he is toxically masculine and he says something like, "Son, you are forgetting that I am an actor."
👍🏾
Have always appreciated Offerman the carpenter, actor, comic timing genius. When I read his book and found out he’s in a bromance with Jeff Tweedy, my appreciation went through the roof.
This thing that he did last year was amazing. The best thing that happened in the entire thing.
It’s surreal seeing him without his beard,it made his eyes look intimidating
I feel like it was always a mustache
Without my glasses, at first I thought it was musk. I was so relieved when i put them on.
I can handle no beard; I've seen him no beard, but the no stache really messes with me
I didn’t recognize him!! 😮
Lol, I thought the opposite.
His laugh/giggle is the best. 😂
Nick Offerman has such a great laugh 🤭
Iconic
Girth.
It's more of a giggle 😂
8:03 I liked how Seth didn't made him or let him say anything about "the thing that he did", but moved immediately to goodbyes. That way he didn't need to get around it or be awkward about it
4:58 "What if we go walk somewhere pretty?" is such a cute sentence.
Nick is my actual hero. I love everything about his definition of “fame”. He is my one true friend crush.
“Gerth Forshur” is the best ad-lib I’ve ever heard! 🤣🤣🤣
On "that thing that you did", I cried. It was amazing how much I loved both of them in just an hour.
I love Nick Offerman little chuckle, it just give him humanity that separates him from his famous roles.
It's a giggle.
He seems like such a solid, content, and appreciative person. Sureounded by good people. Now I gotta go find out the Thing he was in❣
They were talking about the Last of Us Episode 3. Definetely check it out if you havent :)
If you think you are ‘not into zombie stuff’ DO make an exception and watch TLOU at least until the third episode! At which point you will commit!
Offerman called his episode a "bottle" episode, because you WILL need a bottle of something after watching it...

Yes, a stand up fellow.
Of COURSE he hangs with Wilco guy. 🥰 Love this.
Holy hell that man is peerless!!! I hold him above countless other men. He's amazing.
Got off your knees.
THE LAST OF US!!! Nick totally nailed that part, I cried nonstop.
I am consistently fascinated by this very sweet, very loving, very observant guy, and his child like giggles.
That thing Nick did on that show with that other man, was so amazing, it made me do this thing where these wet things fall out of the things that I use to see other things.
Ok, at first when you said "made wet things fall out" I was like, uh-oh .. 😅
So glad to see you back Seth! Missed your show so much! 😊
they have great banter 😂
Nick made this Nick cry sumthin powerful
The thing that he did last year with that other actor was one of the best, most moving performances in the history of television.
Holy crud, I forgot that this man is friends with GEORGE SAUNDERS, the best writer alive today and one of the best ever. I think Nick did parts on the audiobook for Lincoln in the Bardo. Lucky man
A brilliant man. Top chat boys. What I would have given to join that hike or canoe trip ✨🦋
That would be so cool to be hiking along and see Nick Offerman
ONE WORD GIRTH 😂😂😂😂😂
not sure who is the lucky one in their marriage. both are national treasures.
Partnerships aren't zero sum games. They're both wonderfully fortunate.
Just adding in case anyone is interested-canoeing or kayaking the L.A. river is a really important act which some environmental activists undertake : if it is shown to be a navigable waterway it is eligible for national clean-up resources
He has the sketchiest laugh and I love it.
I love his face and voice! He makes me happy 🤣

Actual legend.
Megan Mullally is my favorite 🥰.
The thing he did really was a beautiful piece of work.
Nick looks soo dapper! 💙
Sweet Seth complementing Nick’s work in The Last of Us. Nick has so much talent we need to see more of him .
That role was unbelievable, I knew he was good but that was next level
He talks about being the little brother and then the giggles and then i know it will be all ok, and when i giggle like that its ok not feel bad.
I very much hope he wins an Emmy for The Last of Us.
I find it awesome that Seth has the IDGAF attitude about not wearing a suit.
I just take his not wearing a suit as a further extension of the sloppiness that has afflicted America. It’s sad when the guest is better dressed than the host.
He has such a gorgeous smile, especially with his dimple.
Yes he should win emmy for last of us.....unbelievable acting skill on his part.

You dont have to fk him. JK!!!
Nick looks without the beard younger and very handsome man. Besides he has great sense of humor.
Looking sharp, Nick! 🤩😄
"I am dumb and donkey-like" now that's a relatable celebrity
good interview....it is SOOO nice to see intelligent interviews after suffering legacy network hacks for 5 months....
I love how everyone is promoting books amd magazines during the strike.... maybe reading will become a thing again 😂
Lmfao 😂😂😂2:04😂😂😂😂😂 one ☝️ word Girth😂😂😂😂 too funny 😂
I love me some Nick and also Karen Walker.❤😂

We are apes, but we're not hairless.
Lucky you!
What MAN, "Meghan Mullaley... HOLD FOR APPLAUSE" 😂😂😂😍🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊
That man is too handsome! It's so unfair.
We love your show seth meyers
Love this man. If the Emmy nomination is for THE LAST OF US, he should definitely win that.
It is and he should and he will!
I love Nick's tie in this.
Wild Horses lose their federally protected lands to beef ranchers. #StopWildHorseRoundUps
Do you think that sometimes, pretty often in profile, Offerman looks a bit like Gary Sinise?
I watched until he laughed, that's it I can't anymore 😂😂😂😂
How great is this cat.
He looks like a cross between darth Vader and Tom sellac.
His laughs like an animated character
Wait, is this the good one or the evil one??? I can't tell without the beard!
I love that, in spite of his stoic exterior, he shaved basically because his wife said so.
So handsome without the beard.❤

🎶 What a might good man!🎶
It's a character. A fantasy.
the way he loves his womannnnnn
I unliked the video, before I realised I already liked it. I, of course, corrected my mistake. Happy now?
Yes but just make sure it never happens again 😊
I recommend the book and I love the man who wrote it.

No wonder things seem so backwards these days… Nick Offerman has no facial hair.
I love his laugh.

I hope the SAG strike ends soon, can't wait to see Nick Offerman act again.
Girth! 💀💀💀👏👏👏

What a scabby hugger😂
Good time to add that American Industrial Food has been banded in Europe, and will be soon banded in Japan.
He brought his tour to his old alma mater, University of Illinois in Urbana, where he also built a gazebo for Japan House, where he learned woodworking, among other things, from a professor there who was a big influence on him, very interesting.
Not the moustache too!
Gonna win an Emmy for that thing he did. 🏆
megan offerman! who what? All your eggs and bacon WOOOOOOOOOOOOO WHOP WHOP!!!!!
Man looks good in that suit !
Yup, he looks younger, more dapper looking shaven , can get more serious type character roles now, serious type agents, govt. Spies, hitmen, etc.
He looks younger without the beard ❤
What is the song called that the band plays while Nick is entering? I'm totally gonna learn his dance moves!
Wow, he can't even talk about a previous project that's finished? That stinks, he deserves all the praise he can get for Last of Us.
Striking is a sacrifice, not a vacation.
