- If I were to make up a fish story, I would probably tell a story about catching fish. But the ways things went this week, I don't have to make up stories. When fishing on Oak Island, stories just happen. You can't make this stuff up!

Some days you can’t buy good luck and then along coms a big red to change the mood and keep you coming back for months! Great reminder of what is possible around here. Your favorite spot has produced several nice black drum in the past week or so.
Was down week before last and caught a little of everything. Best was a decent size red. I need to up my game to some live minnows next time I’m down. Thanks for the great videos.

Always entertaining Ian. BTW, first custom rod build was a fail. Started #2 this weekend. Looks a little more promising on the start. This one is going to be an inshore light tackle rod. Medium heavy fast action.

I went flounder gigging last night at oak island between the point and gigged a 23 inch flounder
I’m jealous. My wife and I talked about trying to get out there this weekend but things got busy. I hate that there are only two weeks
Fished there a week or so ago and we caught just about 1 of everything from the surf / canal. Nothing to get too excited about but who cares.....we were fishing. Since I started watching these videos my catch rate has improved 1000%. That said, my wife hates it when I say we need to go 150yds down the beach 'cos "the guy on youtube told me to read the surf".
