You're driving a rally car and you don't know the Norwegian flag.....
The Captain "I'm gonna be from that country"
Oh boi and soon its or national day 1 x in my books if me hating this guy
*You're
I watch some rally and I have no fucking idea what Norway has to do with rally that id need to know the flag lol
If it's rally and Scandinavian everyone is going to think of Finland
Cant watch this. Why couldnt the person be a car guy instead of a non car guy
Rob Seb
And furthermore; a rally guy.
Comments like, ‘I don’t know what that flag is’ made me shudder.
tats the whole point of this video... to put the car through the normal daily stuff... the driver had to be a regular driver... the lesser he knew about it the more he would admire it...
@@adc420able Except he is supposedly one of the biggest 'motoring journalists' in the country. Not a regular driver.
I love how the non-car-guys are always the ones that get to do this type of stuff.
very much a non-car guy. When he had to have the starter explained to him (and didn't know Norway's flag) I realized it was going to be like watching someone else's baby learn to walk.
they sponsor people that wont criticize them in any way
What is actually his beloved spare time hobbie?
I want to screw it up. 😊
You get to drive a WRC car and yet you drive it like a sexually frustrated soccer dad in a mini van
you get 2 drive a La Ferrari or 918 i think you would drive the same. you cant afford it or cant afford an accident
Its the point of the video tho
This is the best and true :D :D
I have 2 words: public road.
@@georgekurgansky5986 doesn't mean shit in the US man
This guy doesn't even understand what rally is, and hes acting like genius
huh?
This host is cringy to watch.
13:28 this guy should've been the host
Would have been funny with the original topgear team, this guy is a funny as cardboard.
tigesinaus I would prefer May over that Guy
Honestly I think he's just another online car reviewer who got lucky with a channel that has resources, I don't think he's as bad as people make him out to be though, I prefer him to modern Mighty Car Mods
drumboarder1 mighty car mods atleast know what a car is
Non car guy turns on the engine:
hears the perfect engine sound*
Just says *okay*
thats

Wouldnt u be
Lmfao yuh I mean it is 750k that get me scared shitless
I was thinking he’s probably more nervous with him then he’s probably ever been with the rally driver lol
Yez
mr beast uncle.
Got to 3:42 and decided that I had enough. Get people to do these test that actually get excited and enjoy it.
I can;t watch this guy drive. I'm out.
Host: "Believe it or not, this car once started life as a regular Hyundai I20"
Me: "Wow, so I can rally my Hyundai?!!
Host: "$700,000 of modifications later..."
Me: "Daaaamn!!! There goes that thought..."
To make it admissible to a rally on a budget you might get away with just spending about $10k (most of it in safety equipment). But then again, you would have no chance to even make qualifying.
@@yoshyoka Really depends on the cup, class etc. etc.
Some friends and I partake in a few rally cups every year and we do get podium or near-podium quite often.
Total investment made on our car? Around 8K including purchase of the thing.
Rally isn't just WRC, there are also plenty of amateur cups specifically made for "rallying on a budget".
Get out of that machine you peasant!!
Rally cars are awesome ;v
I got stuck in it, those seats are tight :-) - Alborz
el Mikas lmaooo
i guess this guy never drives a manual.
I was wondering if it's a hyper sticky clutch... But then he wasn't giving it gas while raising the clutch initially, so you're probably right.
even a person who can usually drive manual would have a hard time with this type of clutch and gearbox. A race type clutch is simply on and off, no slip and instant grab.
Like jean luc says... there are no sprung hubs in these clutches and they are incredibly difficult to get off the line if you are not used to them. I can guarantee that everyone in here would stall that car on first launch.
No no. Ive driven brass button and triple puck clutches before, they are simply on and off, you just cant ride them at all, and theyre incredibly jolt-y, but i did have one in a daily car for 3 years (brass button, if you ride it, it cooks)
Broienk Baieyne did it have a sprung hub or not though? The sprung spline hub helps loads and these cars don't have them.
I didn't think the presenter cared that he was driving a real WRC car. I would kill to drive one. I've seen them up close but never driven one and that's my ultimate goal, drive one. Overall this could of been better or maybe given to someone who actually cared about the car.
Trust me, I love WRC and I grow up owning a WRX that was heavily modified and I have enormous respect for the genre and its drivers... we had a lot of restrictions with what we could do with this car, we basically weren't allowed to go fast or turn on the anti lag system or put it in race mode. So we did the best we could
Fair point, that explains things now.
Nice. If i had a fucking huge amount of money, would never buy any of those fancy sportscars. Just imagine stuck in the traffic with a rally car, and spotting a nice gravel road, leaving all those peasants behind...
good luck with that , but there not road legal. only during official events can drivers go between rally stages to drive them on the road.
jean luc Dubinator I know that at least here in the us the cars in the rally events have to be completely road legal to run, so I would assume these would be able to be ran as daily driver if you wanted
+Declan White during an official rally cars are inspected and giving a temporary Mot and can only circulate from stage to stage at the legal speed limit. After the rally is complete the cars have there temp permits removed . If your thinking of registering a full spec rally car at local DMV good luck , these cars are no way road legal . I know this from personal experience.
No you do not jean... Here in Australia we can acquire rally registration. this is extremely cheap but is also rather limiting. you can drive the vehicle on the road within a radius of the registered address of the vehicle, between certain times, if you are to go outside of said radius or outside of said times, you must contact either RMS to check and obtain allowance to do so, requiring a reason being either a car show of which you are to participate in, relocation of the car from one place to another or competing/transporting in a rally.
Also these cars are road legal under rally registration, they are exempt from all road rules so long as they are given a certification by an approved engineer after inspection.
+Declan White nope, there only legal between stages and for a short period. Like I said if you don't believe me go to your local DMV with a full spec rally race car and they'll just laugh and say ..... Eh No . At least in North America anyway.
2:48 Such disrespect
just let it be so everyone thinks that ur real Mikkelsen
at 2:59 that's so offensive for NORVEGIAN people for christ sake. This is not like a lost country my god get your shit together and learn a little bit more about th mainstream geography jesus
PWOX™ yea i got a bit triggerd there Im from norway
I think it was joke, he knows what country it is
I REALLY hope for him and his culture knowledge
Gees dont you guys in norway know what humour is?
hexagonview it doesnt sounded enough sarcastic to be viewed as a joke from my POV and I'm personnaly from france but i though it must be painful for norvegian people aswell if he was serious
You don't know the Norwegian flag?? Dra til helvete 🇳🇴😠
Ford Sierra yeah 🇳🇴😠
🇫🇮😇
Phoenix AO you play my summer car?🇫🇮🇫🇮🇫🇮🇫🇮🇫🇮
the lunagamer169tm ive played it but i got bored fast :P
the lunagamer169tm do you have other games
You can obviously tell from the chief mechanic’s face that he is so done with this dude
huh?
That has to be the engineer's dream, drive a rally car through a drivethrough haha
so did you like never driven a car without a start/stop button before? :D
Most start/stop buttons in regular cars are simply push and release, no need to hold the button - so it is understandable that he didn't know you had to hold this one in without instruction from the mechanic.
Every race car ive ever driven/built we simply wire a momentary button to the starter motor, hold it like you hold a key in a normal car
@@nightowlnzab yeah but he didnt hold it like 6 times
My GAZ 52 has basically same system
I don’t think he knows what a clutch is really
Those fools drive with automatics
Nah tbf this clutch is quite aggressive you need much more throttle than you normally would need
Poor subaru 15:27, must've felt intimidated
Shadow _1 true, but if the subaru had 700k on mods it Would smoke that Hyundai.
@Nai-son ` BOI. YOU DONT KNOW ABOUT SUBARU IN THE 90s

That one lucky WRC Neuville fan that got to sit in Mikkelsen's car... if that was me i would have shat myself of joy
That would have been interesting on video! Thanks for your feedback!
Sent a complete amateur im jealous

"Im gonna be from that country, Whatever that is"
13:27 That guy is probably a Dutch or Belgian tourist on holiday, based on his accent.
And he supports Thierry Neuville (BEL)
Probably.
Doug Demuro needs to do this. I would love to see the Doug Score
Has this guy ever seen a manual transmission car in his life? If he only knows automatic (not much to know about it anyway), he shouldn't be trying to drive this one and eventually damage the clutch (not cheap on a WRC car).
At least have some respect for a country's flag my man. I'm not from Norway but still that wasn't necessary.
i love the way the driver of this car rolls on rally streets.. so fascinating.
Thanks for the feedback!
i dont mind drive this in daily drives
Rookie, my 83 year old Mum could have rev'd and feathered the clutch better
I understand the sarcasm to what youre saying but... you cant feather the clutch in these cars due to the clutch type in the transmission
Broienk Baieyne Thank you!
OK but why is there a clutch pedal then? I'm sure it can be modulated.
@@rolfen In order to prevent stalls in the corners. When pulling the handbrake, it is always best to use the clutch to prevent stalls. But, this and all other WRC cars (WRC, WRC-2, WRC-3, J-WRC) either use paddles or a sequential stick shifter. Also, just like a normal manual car, the car will stall if the revs bottom out completely. If you hold the clutch when you are at idle, it won’t stall, like a normal H-Pattern car.
You should hava taken the last guy for a ride!!!
An 11 year old could shift better than that guy
14:13 this guy Dutch
The Guy can't even drive a manual gearbox. No wonder the mechanic had to take over. No clue at all.
This was painful to watch, like worrying about bottoming out in a car park over a small speed bump I mean he’s clearly not watched the Finnish rally 😂😂
He doesnt know a Norwegian flag ???
next time turn anti lag system on or else it's kinda boring
not allowed on public roads. Sorry, we tried.
CarAdvice.com pussy
Completely destroys the turbocharger so I guess it was for the best
The WRC I20 is a Legend
Why is always the noobs/media guys that end up driving race cars? Geez, all of us gear heads here craving for such an opportunity and they put a total oblivious rally guy. behind the well. Hell I would be delighted with a passenger ride!
they guy who drove this use to have a WRX modded as a rally car and grew up watching wrc. He wasn't aloud to put it in race mods or even rev it up to much he said he really wanted to but they had him by the balls. He replied to a couple other people
He obviously does not drive a car with s manual transmission let alone a sequential gearbox. But he knows his way around a fast food drive thru restaurant based on his physical size. 😋
The way he touched that START button 3 times. OMG. Just like looking at 5 year old kids that have never seen a button phone, with exception of this kid being 30 years old. I need a hug now.
Can’t even finish the video, I cringe to much watching this guy not knowing how to drive manual.
i Cringe at you not knowing how hard a race clutch is. Even people who have driven manuals there whole life stall the a couple times when using a race clutch
@@ItsLost its because the clutch is ver y short?
I have always dreamed. If I was a millionaire. Having a sleeper i20 or Fiesta that is Rally or RallyX built underneath. Nobody would suspect a thing... Apart from the glowing exhaust
Okay i would drift the sh*t out of it if it was me driving even if i got punished afterwards
Thanks for your feedback!
I feel sorry for the engineer
Real question for a second (thought you may doubt its legitimacy for a minute!)
What MPG do you get out of this? Looking at buying one for my daily commute to the old folks home then maybe to the bingo hall which is a distance of at least 8 miles from my current convalescent home - im worried ill only be getting about 1.3 mpg just like my last car my Tyrell P34 which ill have you know is fucking useless, cant even get my zimmer frame in the thing! If anyone could help me out and if anyone happens to have some idea about part exchanging my current car for this Hyundai WRC Car it would be great - Thanks HAROLD (87 years young!)
Can he drive a regular manual transmission?
A lot of jealous "gear heads" here
Yeah coz an dumbfk is driving an wrc car and the real people who really respect it can't
It looks like he is tata indica driver
🇳🇴 … wherever this is. Not even 30 sec research on what & who’s car he’s about to drive? Cringe guy.
I would kiss that car if I ever come across it. No kidding, film me or not. I would lick that car clean.
He didn't even know where norway is and what is its flag...sheep
This was a horrible horrible experience for me.
Taped up the name tag.
Didn't know what the Norwegian flag is.
Took a WRC car on errands.
Drove it like you had 3 kids in the back seat.
Also the gear switching, oh dear. I know it's difficult driving a race car slow since it operates totally differently compared to a street car, but what were you doing? Were you trying to keep the noise down or something? I was on the verge of tears watching this.
Oh and if you brought that Ice Cream into the car, I would've climbed through my computer screen and strangled you to death xD
If anyone else said they were just going to get a taxi instead of driving a wrc hyundai I20, I would've had a fit. But after the past 15 minutes, I think it's the best thing you had said during this video.
You did this on purpose right? It seemed like you did. It seemed like you were purposefully trying to piss rally fans off. You were just trolling us.
If you did, hats off to you. You did a good job.
If this wasn't on purpose then I kind of hate you.
Why'd he tape over the name, wtf man it's not your car, you're not the official driver.
I never let this clown drive this precious car not even a civic
Poor car has to endure him.
This could have been a really cool video.
Would you imagine if this kind of videos were made with human athletes (thinking this cars as the athletes of carworld), like "join Usain Bolt on shopping" and he just goes and... walk around
It seriously takes $700000 to make a rally car out of a Hyundai? That is complete bullshit
I think that car isn't stupid, that's so nice! It's even hard for you to start the engine of that car! And i think you really don't even know how to drive an ordinary car!
money can't buy skill
4:00 R.I.P Car
He know nothing about car or rally..what a shame..go do a hybrid car..that what suit u 🙄
My soul hurts wen I watch this video 🤦🏻♂️
I'd like to remind people how hard upgraded clutches are to deal with
Come on you didnt know what the flag of norway looks like
Would have much preferred to see an average man on the street trying to drive the car on an airfield with everything turned on. driving on roads with the car in non competition mode with the active diff turned off, the engine on its most fuel efficient map so BHP down considerably , anti lag turned off, is frankly lame and a little pointless . Its a pure bred rally beast and should be used as such
the host said in some other comments they wouldn't turn on any of that stuff not even anti lag
I was a little saddend by this video, the fact that almost Nobody seemed to even look twice or care that there was a real, world competing rally car driving the streets. Most of them probably thought it was just a fake copy. The drive through was pretty funny, i would love to ride around in it for a day.
Am İ the only one surprised to see a German plated car in Australia and to see someone not recognising the Norwegian flag? 😂
I was surprised by the latter but not the former.
$700k worth of modification. Yes, I believe that could've started out as a regular i20.
How many more of those could I buy with 700 000?
良いなぁ😊
運転してみたい🚙💨
On a big car you tube channel and doesn’t even know how to release the clutch
If you fail going away from place 2 times in toyota, it'll break the gearbox... maybe that's why hyunday is not first in wrc
he dosent know how to drive a car
Y'all who laughing about the stalling rally clutch is very aggressive .....also that gear shift holy shit !!!!!
They drove it in Australia?? With stearing wheel on left??
This is really painful to watch especially when he tries to start.
I mean, is you daily drive car a Toyota Prius?
Damn terrible
Mundane car for mundane guy.
Funny how he says he does not want to make a fool of himself...
3:43 The engine sounds like an airplane 😎
Did you even know how to drive a manual?
Got some big feels he never got to drive it on public roads himself hah
Australian $750,000 = Indian Rs.37392750.00/- ...
3.7 crores for this car !!
Can I atleast sit in such car in my life !! I don't think I'll ever get to see such mechanical art here in India..
I agree. It’s not that expensive though.
You did not understand. They took the normal car and modified it. The modifications cost $750 000. They put all very expensive racing modifications in this car.
I feel ya bud.. *sigh* how I wish that I could atleast touch it, let alone sit in it
HI CarAdvice, such a different video for a rally fan! Amazing!!, what a experience driving on the city. Its that really an i20 WRC or a 100% replica ? or its that Hyundai offer this one to promove the activity?
Shame on you Fallah for not knowing the flag of Norway
@15.27 when the real rally car appears 😂
It is as tradition: It must be street legal, and transport itself on public roads to the next rally stage.
