Thank you for the video !! Also professor, how would you suggest the Socratic Reasoning/Questioning for the engineering disciplines. Should I utilize my time before the session starts learn to implement it ? Secondly, how would you advise to take notes during lab sessions or practicals, when the discourse is primarily verbal. Also, what is the correct way to ask doubts to professors? At school, I used to resolve my doubts, usually written down in a notebook, two- three days after the lecture, in order to properly understand where I lacked. Would it be practical to do the same at college ? Is it possible to use the law of compounding to excel in the coursework at college ? The concept finds its mention innumerable times in productivity books and lectures, does it apply to the process of learning engineering subjects as well ?

3. Prepare notes, especially for the insights and analyses of difficult concepts(which are usually not mentioned in books)
4. Try to attend most of the classes (atleast stay up to date with the progression of the coursework). Effectively utilize the time during the classes.
5. Make use of online resources as and when required. But treat them as lectures and not shows to be passively watched. Find a single, comprehensive and robust resource and stick to it.
6. Be careful at handling bad performances. Try to maintain some sort of data of your errors and pitfalls. Identify the root flaw in the understanding using Socratic Reasoning.
7. Focus primarily on curriculum in the first year, especially, math and programming. Once a sense of understanding of the broader nature of the Department curriculum is obtained, then progress with projects.

Well done on getting IIT Kanpur. All the best!
I join BS physics major under The university of burdwan. Thank you much for you advice professor.
Ref. books should only be used for solving questions. This should be made a rule 😂. The theory and concepts in the lec. are more than sufficient, practicing questions from the books will give a grasp. But reading the same content in a comprehensive manner...ugghhh it's a torcher😂😂😂
Im joining IIT Kgp CSE this year. Thanks for the wisdom you're sharing with us 🙏🏻
Congratulations! Welcome to the Institute and all the best!
Sir I am getting agfe in iit kgp and cse in jadavpur university.. i don't know about my interest.. I only know I love maths ... My parents tell me to join ju cse bcz it has better placements and a good branch also ... But my mind always resist me bcz of the iit tag .. I don't know what to do ... Is engineering is all about only placements?
Good afternoon sir, Should I opt for Mechanical engineering in Nit Warangal or Electrical engineering in DTU.
Sir i was expecting that i would get iit with around 2k rank but i get 21k rank in jee advanced although my jee main rank was very good so jointing nit Trichy
I got 1 month full of depression, lack of sleep, anxiety,
People say that nits are nothing infront of iits... And that's true i realised
Top 3 NITs are always OP, don't be disappointed. I don't want to hurt you, but I'd be very grateful if you answer one question - why did you expect crazy 2000 rank with less than 120 marks?
@@ankitbhattacharjee_iitkgp my mock test performance was quite good I score around 50-60%.after giving my exam I sure that I would be score 55-60% but after checking my answer key mad so many mistakes got. 32%
@@mujahidkhan-fz5hn I understand, but kindly expect your rank only after matching you answers of even better if you don't expect anything. In 2023, I expected around 7K and got about 9.7K. That was very disappointing.
@@ankitbhattacharjee_iitkgp bro my jee main rank is 1571 and almost every test I used to score above 50% in jee advanced mocks in Allen.... Despite this on the final day I couldn't perform well ....
It's very painfull... But I'll try to overcome...
@@mujahidkhan-fz5hn no worries, excel at NIT Trichy...!
Thank you so much sir for the guidance❤❤ btw joining IIT Indore CSE this year
Bad decision .
You should have joined any branch in older iit .
Sir, is this ("Do not start project from first year")
relevant for a student in tier 3 college with no great placement.......please reply🙏

Hi sir I'm dropper and lost old iit by just 3 to 4 marks and joining nit cse. Umm I don't know why there should be some regret in my mind but no i have no regrets . Well i will meet you someday for sure 😄😄
I wish you all the best to do very well at what you have chosen.
We all did damage control in jee prep for chem
What do you mean?
Why department change is removed?
Sir, do consider making a video about curriculum/system changes introduced in IITKGP this year from 2024-2025 onwards, like no depc, double major, dep courses from 1st year, etc
Sir how is smart manufacturing engineering branch i am getting it in iiit jabalpur . If i join AI-ML minor degree can i get a good package from it ?? Or i should go for ece in new iiit or core branch in some good nits
Sir I chose iit d mnc branch instead of iit kgp cse . I don't have any subject preference. I'm from Kolkata . Did I make a mistake? Btw I've been following your videos since class 11 they're really insightful
If you are really interested in Maths, it is the correct choice because in Maths and Computing, you will first get to study the classical Maths subjects. These can be challenging (Eg. Real Analysis) but extremely enriching.
@@Prof_JC Thanks a lot sir that's definitely encouraging 🙏
Sir I got 98 percentile in mains and didn't qualify jee advanced,I am not getting any good circuital branch in NIT's.How to get over this fact sir,I am not able to accept this reality, plz help me sir...
I am joining iiser Bhopal will surely keep that in my mind
i wish i could ever have a mentor like u.... sir i have a request if u can make a video on it.
It is that i have an issue of keeping my mind into one thing, and the task ranging from every basic thing i do in my daily life till the important ones which decide my career...whenever i do any task my mind wonders on any thing like a hopping rabit. Different songs, old incidents and talks just keep running in my mind. i even messed my jee prep due to this and i couldn't even realise it at that moment. Please sir if u can help
Seeing these videos in your 4th year also helps.

In nits teachers do not teach properly
Thank you sir 🙏
Sir I've completed my 12th this year and I wanted to take up physics as i was interested in astrophysics so i thought i would do masters and then go for phD.. but then i heard that there is not much scope and also..a PhD takes so many years and a job is not so promisable. I don't know if I'm up for engineering if i wanted to do it.. So i was planning to take a repeat year and all..but now it's too late and there's only 5 months left now😢 I don't know if i should prepare from now or join a private engg college sir..This is completely unrelated to the video but I would greatly appreciate it if you would reply.. Thank you ❤
Sir I am BCA, MCA passout and currently doing mtech.. I am more interested in academics than IT industry.. many people say, that my academics career may go wrong because of my non btech background... will you pls help me abd guide me about what should i do? is it really impossible to lecture in technical colleges because of my background?
Thanks sir for your great advice. This year i am going to iit guwahati (mechanical engineering) ❤

Sir, I am joining NIT Allahabad next week. But I'm not that confident in speaking English like the way you are doing. What to do for that to grow the confidence?
