  • In late August we rallied some serious man-power to knock out this entire farm project in one day.
We built some funneling fences, hung 5 stands, 3 box blinds, treecoys and more. To cap off the day, the farm's new owner, Tim stopped by to see everything taking place.
If you have been considering a purchase in Iowa, we discuss "Why Iowa?" with Lee in this video. ‪@LeeandTiffanyLakosky‬

    About The Whitetail Group
The Whitetail Group was created by Bobby Kendall with the vision of becoming the country’s preeminent developer of recreational properties for the ELITE whitetail hunter.
Bobby’s passion for the outdoors and recreational development burns so hot that he moved his entire family to the Golden Triangle in West Central Illinois from their home in Up-State New York.
Bobby’s entire career has been devoted to honing his woodsmanship skills and continuing to deepen his understanding of the behavioral patterns of America’s most popular big game animal. This knowledge and understanding of whitetails manifests itself in the careful layout and meaningful improvements made to each tract of land The Whitetail Group develops.

    Explain the fencing plesse

It's meant to funnel/bring deer into bow range. The fences are 49" woven wire with a gap on the bottom to allow critters to pass underneath. Some deer might still go under or jump over, but a majority will walk the "path of least resistance" around the ends. On this farm we built two fences. Each fence had a tree stand or box blind within 40-50 yards on each end.

Does that 49 inch high woven wire 100% of the time keep deer from jumping it. If along a fencline ? (Plus the one foot up) 61 inches high I’m assuming ?
Let’s just say if you want to keep deer out of a neighboring property?
Or does it need to be taller.

Needs taller .. the more out of their way you want them to go the higher it needs to be … goal with these funnels is that if they needed to escape from
      Danger they could
Jump it but will take the path of least resistance to bow range under normal circumstances

These days the farms for sale are like the leftovers…leftovers compared to 2015 ish and prior. Prices are insane. Just mad I didn’t cash in on it when I could have. 😢
