Good afternoon, Roquete. I used a small screw entered into the old seal in order to pull the old one out. Then, replaced it with a new rear main seal. Take care.
@@AdventuresofHappyOurs Hello, Adventures. The seal is behind the flywheel and is pressed into the engine block. I pulled the old seal out at 7:34, using a small screw entered into the old seal via screwdriver, to pull it out. The new seal is tapped in place with a rubber mallet at 7:36. This is a time lapse video over a few days of working on the Escape, GoPro might not catch everything. :-) Please take care and good luck.
@AdventuresofHappyOurs Yes, it is just another gasket...it is getting to it that is the work and a large amount of time. It would have been easier if it was a rear wheel drive vehicle. The Escape has been a very good vehicle for us and we still enjoy driving it.
Thank you, Billy. This was actually my first time removing a transmission on a FWD vehicle. Recently, I swapped out a performance clutch pack on my AWD Subaru STi, which was much easier than the job on the Escape. Take care from Texas!
did you press the new seal over the old seal???

@@adamekk9kayaking456I didn’t see you pull the old seal. Did it come out with the flywheel?

@ ah yes! Now I caught it! Are all rear mains that easy to replace one the trans is pulled?

You knew to put a pan under the trans when pulling out the axle. Not your first rodeo.
