I don't know about anyone else, but I just bought a 12"X12" piece of galvanized sheet metal (Amazon) and stuck it underneath my regular cutting mat. It works. You could also get a sheet the same size as your mat.

I am making a cutting mat with iron plate.(Get closer to the magnet to get stronger magnetic)
