What that glue

Is the bottom not sewn at all? Won't things fall out? Love the bag, just wondering about the bottom.

How thick is the leather you are using for this? my leather is quite thin and the flaps don't stay closed very well like yours do. AMAZING pattern. Thank you so much for sharing my all time favorite design. So clever!
