    • @secretforreddit
      @secretforreddit 3 года назад +452

      @@superlolgal555 It's not a Daniel Thrasher thing; it's just a linguistic thing. "Boris Yotsumenov" is a very Russian sounding name, and Russian uses a different set of letters than English does, called the Cyrillic alphabet. The Russian Cyrillic alphabet has 33 letters, most of which are very different from the Latin alphabet (which English uses). For example, the name "Daniel Thrasher" in Cyrillic is "Дэниел Трэшер." The idea that Hoodie Guy would be sent to train to learn the ABCs with someone whose native alphabet could better be called the "АБВ"s is funny.

    I learned something today! Apparently typing the alphabet quickly is a real thing, with real record holders. The current world record is held by SK Ashraf with 3.37 seconds, which means that Hoodie Guy is not just beating him at that, but, with his time of ~.68 seconds, is beating him by like a factor of five. Okay, it's based on a Cold War era form of competion. To prove their superiority, the former USSR would find gifted kids and train them for high-profile international competion in chess, gymnastics, etc. How did this help the kids prepare for adult success? About as much as devoting their childhoods to alphabet-typing would. EXCEPT in Daniel Thrasher's alternate reality where the alphabet/keypad corresponds exactly with Mozart /piano keys! Now you understand the synchronicity of the Thrasher-verse. 🌌 Where all effort eventually produces beautiful music.

    Making things out of paper. Houses, clothes, etc. I always used to come home from school and grab a stack of paper, crayons, scissors, and tape, and doing that for many years led me to having a lot of knowledge about the art of making things out of paper.
    In my middle school tech theater class, we had a project, and part of it was we had to make a set of clothes out of paper that we could put on and off easily without it ripping. Our teacher told us how to measure everything and how to know how much paper to use, etc, but since my mom designed clothes for a short amount of time, I already knew things about clothes design. And adding in my knowledge of how to craft things out of paper in an effective way, I ended up having the best paper clothes out of everyone.
    That is my useless talent. Making the most random things out of paper. When I was younger, I was great at small houses, bags, and a start on clothes design, and now I focus more on general experiments with the supplies I have, while also getting better at clothes
