I think it turned out great! I like the new layout much better. It will be warm and I’m sure everyone will notice her beautiful warm quilt in the kids school colors!💛🖤
My deceased husband had quite a few flannel shirts. I have deconstructed them and want to make a quilt for his sister. You've given me some ideas of what to do. I'll probably have the same problem with the lines in the plaids not being straight. Thank you so much for giving me permission not to worry about it.
Thank you for sharing, just found your channel. For me this was an aha moment, would of never thought to deviate from a pattern. Liked how it turned out, and the easier way to do the mosaic quilt.
Such a beautiful / fun quilt. The second layout distributed the darks better. I wouldn't have put so many darks in a quilt. It reminded me of a long ago quilting lesson that a little yellow goes a long way. The yellow sure brightened it up.
My family has always loved flannel quilts. I made my son one in blacks and greys using three dudes quilt pattern. It’s absolutely beautiful. I love how you worked this out. Beautiful!!
I love that you included that you didn’t like the way it was turning out. And then changed it until you did. I once donated a “ mess” of a quilt because I didn’t understand that I could change it or rip out and try again. Your quilt is beautiful! Love those colors together.
When pairing up the units at first, take all of the light units and put them in a paper bag. Then stack your darks, and reach into the bag, eyes closed, and grab your first light. Then immediately sew them together. Set aside, and repeat. If you sew them together immediately, you will be less likely to want to make color changes. Because that means ripping them out first. This helps speed up the process. Most people get delayed at the pairing section because of all the options. The bag method also almost guarantees a scrappier quilt. Eleanor Burns had the bag idea 40 years ago on her PBS series. The quilt turned out great.
When my son played hockey I used to sew on binding between periods or if there was a whistle. The quilt kept me warm at the rink while I stitched away.
That happens to all of us. I don’t use purchased patterns so I have to reserve the right to “change my mind” at any time…😁. The quilt is a beautiful success in the black and gold…
I’d have a problem with those checks not being cut straight. I like how you figured out to make it all work out by just cutting in half. It came out really cute.
I just love this version of the staduim blanket . Thanks so much fir your tutorials. Ive been bonne watching. Subscribed yesterday. Hugs

Excellent idea! I will give it a try. Thank you for sharing and watching!
Her quilting show is still on some PBS stations.
Thank you for letting me know about her show! I will look for it. I am also looking forward to trying the bag method in the future!

What a great way to stay warm and get a quilt your completed!
Love the fabrics & colors. For some reason I liked the bottom half more than the top. I think I will give it a try.
Very pretty. Nice and warm for those cold sporting events.
Thank you!
Thankyouvery much. It is a very cute project and easy to do. PR/TX

Love the catchey name #down the rabbit hole" yes, like Alice in wonderland!
Exactly!!
Nice! It would be helpful to know what the pieced sections measure after you stitch pieces together. 😉
I will remember that for future videos 😊 Thank you for the suggestion and for watching!
Beautiful.
Thank you!
New layout much better .
Much better cutting in half
What size needle do you use for flannel?
I used an 80/12 needle for cotton flannel
How did you finish it? What kind of backing? Also flannel?
Yes, flannel. 😊
I forgot to mention it’s been machine quilted.
Is it "minky confetti?"
Yes, pretty much. It’s a fabric called fireside which is similar to minky. Very soft, but causes “confetti” too.
