- Arne's favorite car is his Bluesmobile and his favorite drive is the Cannonball Run. He asked Ed Bolian to come along with him on the 2016 C2C Express race from NY to LA and Forrest came along with them.

"We started to drive through this miserably dense fog. Almost impossible to drive though. We could hardly maintain 100mph"
This was an awesome event. Arne built an amazing car and the Blues Brothers livery added to the experience. I was glad to get the opportunity to come along.
Ed Bolian I love all your videos
You are awesome 😎
Oh. So I got ya. I gotta beat 34:16 in my 78TA to set the new one for an antique car. Got it. Thanks. :-D 2019 Here I come!!!
Remember, it's not called 'hitting it with a hammer'. It's called 'percussive maintenance'. Hopefully that can add to your already exceptional linguistic capability.
Neither radar gave you time to slow down?
@@DirtyVegasVids Kind of like we haven't been able to use the word ni#*$r rigged for quite some time...... Now it's called a presidential solution.☻
I like the combination of multiple storytellers for something like this. Great idea.
I agree on the back and forth, an awesome way (although more editing for you) to roll the story. Went VERY WELL!!! Enjoyed it!
Forest was tinkering, Arnie was distraught, and I had a wonderful nap.
Best line of this story.
"Explain to Forrest what a useless human being he is at the moment"
Hah
StaticImage read your comment as soon as he said that. Lol
"And channeling his inner Jeremy clarkson..."
We need more people like Ed in this world
106 miles to Chicago full tank of gas 1/2 a pack of cigarettes its night and were wearing sunglasses. HIT IT!
damnit! you beat me hahaha
Its got a Cop motor. Cop brakes. Cop suspension.
Ya need ta fix the cigarette lighter.
Car's got a lot of pickup.
Favorite movie line when I was a kid driving a similar 70's Fury that we Beat the shit out of.😁
More Cannonball Run content for the channel. We put together a playlist of Cannonball related stories. Be sure to check it out!
"i had a wonderful nap" Savage
All I can think about after he talks about being stopped by the police is the scene from the blues brothers where Elwood gets pulled over and they run his licence and it shows that he has a suspended licence and 56 moving violations.
ED Bolian is the Mark Twain of the 21st century. What a wonderful story teller. His mind pictures always bring you into the moment, as though you were actually right there, watching it unfold.
Want a TopGear style show to work in America??? Hire Ed as the American Clarkson... and the rest will fall into place.
II McG II dude that is so true
Ed Arne and rabbit there you go
Ed actually auditioned for Clarkson's job when they were looking for his replacement! Fact!
Dude I wish this would actually happen. I miss the old real Top Gear so hard and I'm sorry but the new guys are so ungodly lame/boring. I mean, Ed and the gang wouldn't replace Clarkson, May and Hammond but at least wed all be able to watch it without having to choke back vomit. Lol.
@@bossboyritchno1287 seriously?! I had no idea. Awe oh my god why didnt it happennnn... so sad rn. Lol.
Best Cannonball Car idea ever. I cannot believe the cop gave you a ticket in a Bluesmobile!
Some officers have no sense of propriety........
some people have no sense of humor
You need to tell Dan Aykroyd about this, he would be proud
Honestly id say belushi would have been more entertained may he rest in peace
@@eriktruchinskas3747 noway dan is the motorhead
So I guess you could say the fuel pump was a "shrewd" negotiator, only to be over come by the blow of a hammer?
Yes, you could.
miatamilitia LOOOOOOOOL
“Almost impossible to drive thru, it was hard to maintain 100mph “ bruh
Automatic thumbs up for any cross country stories
njshift automatic thumbs up for anything vinwiki 😁
I hope Matt Farah makes an appearance on this channel. Or Ed and Matt do something collaboratively. That would be gold.
Arne _and_ Ed in one story? It's about Cannonball _and_ the Bluesmobile? *Best VINwiki ever!*
Cannonball story and blue brothers. Will be brilliant if there was a police chase involved as well. XD
Hang on. Is that License plate actually El Woods? XD wow.
More ed!
I genuinely don't think I'll ever get bored of hearing his stories
Because of this channel it is officially on my bucket list to do a cross country rally like these. Thanks vinwiki especially ed for being a great story teller and sparking my interest for this.
That Ray's Music Exchange bumper sticker is freakin' awesome!
2:15 Blue Brothers getting chased by the Polizei. Close enough lol.
One of Ed's best lines..."And I had a wonderful nap."
I could listen to Ed talk all day long. Him and David (thatdudeinblue) are my favorite guys on the channel
You got soul, man.
Austin's Garage Their girlfriends be like " You better think about what your trying to do to me".
It's cool to see that guys who drive high end cars daily still fuck with the old stuff. Even if it is just for a goof
LS motor only did 125.. heck even the stock 440 police motor could run 135 mph! but they did run hot
Channeling his own inner Jeremy Clarkson 10:49
This video was amazing, I love the cannon ball/2904/what ever stories, they're so fun to listen too
I love the fact that the muffler shop (2:03) you guys went to is right around the corner from my house LOL
I owned a 1977 Dodge Royal Monaco Interceptor; 440 4barrel; it would do 150+. great car!
"I had a junkyard LS"
*eye begins to twitch*
The doors being wrong also bothers the hell out of me.
The Bluesmobile didn't have vent windows
Not going to lie, Ed’s sense of humor and way of telling the stories, he’d have fit right in in the blues brothers movie
I think I've watched this three times. I totally love these stories, it's such a childhood fantasy of mine to do a Cannonball. I recall going to the movies when I was 12 or 13 to watch The Cannonball Run with Burt Reynolds and co. I live in Canberra, Australia, so the idea of doing an actual Cannonball is a complication fraught with difficulties. I'm so glad there's a bunch of maniacs who keep this dream alive for the rest of us who don't have the resources or balls to actually do it. You guys are inspiring.
One more thing. Not really a question more of a PLEASE PLEASE run it again in the Blues MObile!!!
The best car to do it in! I wish I could have been in the Bluesmobile too
This story was awesome! I love the cross country stories and loved the way both of you told the story!
Getting stopped in the wrong state sucks. My last speeding ticket for 90 in a 55 was written up at that speed with a $361 fine and 6 points off my licence( wisconsin gives you 12 points in a one year period ). After going to court without a lawyer it is now my most expensive parking ticket. They changed it to a $500 parking ticket and 0 points because it was then a non moving violation.
atombomb232610 I got a ticket in Sheboygan for too fast for conditions when I slid into a guard rail due to ice. I was going under 10 at the time. I could’ve fought it but I just paid the $216
I like Ed for his amazing voice and great story telling, but I really did like the partner story telling gig that’s going on, really great quality.
Thanks. We might try to do more of these. Tougher to edit but the outcome seems worth it.
+VINwiki you guys do a great fucking job I love your content
Wow antique cars are sure different than they were in my day, 32 Fords, 40 Fords, 49 Mercury's. I had been driving five years when your car came off of the assembly line!
This is an epic story here, "arrive and drive" lol, love it
The Blues are indeed strong with you!
Great event and an honor to run with you Ed!
/me tries to imagine Ed trying to keep Arne awake, his dulcet tones and smooth delivery would calm down a meth addled tweaker on PCP.
Best video yet! I like the back and forth, sticking to the same details in the timeline. Do more like this!
"And channeling his own inner Jermey Clarkson" I'm dead
The fact that you guys won after all that went wrong proves that it truly was a mission from God.
Laughed quite a bit at 4:26 , Ed still seems disappointed at that incident
Lmao...!!!
Best video in a while...
Ed and arne telling stories in the SAME video...!??
Doesn't get much better then this folks...!!!
I could listen to ed telling storys all day @@
Love the dual personalities of this video.
More of Alex and ed! This channels blowin up!
Ed is the best story teller
Very interesting for us Walter Mitty types. I totally get the trying to stay awake part, having driven a 2600 mile trip in my misspent youth. Not at 100mph, however, in my 1964 VW bus. LOL
Love Bluesbrothers, want a Bluesmobile and love the concept of the run but lads mature up a bit - check your tyre pressures if that's what your doing. I've driven the unlimited speed highways here in Australia enough (most still are despite "laws"). I'm all for doing midnight cannonball runs but I'll always check tyres, it's the first thing cops do if you're caught and if you can tell them what tyres your running, when you last checked and the temp change then you're sweet to go. Truckies are mad about it here to. Once got passed on the Flinders Highway by a road train doing 170KPH. A lot of prime movers have faulty speedos.
We have a half a pack of cigarettes it's night time and we're wearing sunglasses ....Ed
Officer: Do you have any idea why I stopped you?
Ed: Would you believe I was on a mission from God?
Lol I remember seeing you guys on that run in California on the 15 freeway
"Miserable fog, we could barely maintain 100mph"
As a PA resident I would like to say our police absolutely suck when it comes to 'spirited' drives. If you need people to run interference on your next trip we're here for you.
I'd love to be involved in this race! It's been a dream of mine ever since I was a child watching movies about it. It's doubtful that I will ever get to do this and it breaks my heart. Anyone that has such a memory to look back on is truly blessed. I subscribed to this channel 2 videos ago lol. Thanks for sharing your stories with us who can only dream about it.
Yay something to watch while I wait for my late professor 👍🏻
*THANKS VINWIKI my professor ended up canceling class 🤷🏻♂️
I once drove from Indianapolis to Rapid City, South Dakota in 12 and a half hours. I was booking it. I was by myself and only stopped for gas and to pee. I'm Cannonball ready.
I think I speak for everyone when I say... MORE ED, PLEASE!
Man, the blues mobile is my dream car, too bad they're super rare and expensive here in Sweden :'(
Ed should do a fan cannonball run ....
I wish we had something similar in England. It sounds so fun.
bigBatZ You need a wider country!
Top to bottom is 874 miles (including Scotland) so running both directions would be a nice challenge
You have the whole of Europe to cross. That's even better. There are many events organised there including "Scumball Rally" and of course the "Gumball 3000" which often is trans Europe. But "Scumball" is designed for those on a budget. 1000 pound cars, and no hotel and glamour stops. Camp sites lol.
We are already on it. Between a few like minded folk, we have done some small scale under radar events. It went well on a local scale. The only problem we found is after first event as word spread and reputation grew, we had trouble with idiots getting involved
Great Stories. Trips like this you never forget.
respect for putting the adv at the end and not the start always let the end ads run
This is the best one yet.
THAT was an awesome story! You made me day! Question; did the cigarette lighter work? 🇺🇸
I love this idea! VINwiki your app and RUclips are amazing! Much love for both!
how are stories like these not confessions where they can just write a ticket based on your own statement of the situation?
"and I just lay into the throttle..."Yes!
when i read the back windsheild i hear dan akroyds voice. one of the best movies ever made.
*ripbelushi*
This reminded me of those Drake & Josh intros 😂
you're right about one thing but nobody's likes an LS motor in a Mopar. But the car still wicked cool
I went from Detroit, made a stop to pick up a load, had to wait for it, then finished the 2,550 mile trip to LA in under 38 hours, solo! Man I was beat when I got there! Felt like I was sitting on a picket fence! Took seven gas stops, never even set my foot on the ground in Nevada! I'll never do that again!
“Pennsylvania was under heavier construction than normal”
Clearly you aren’t very familiar with the PA Turnpike...
"Channeleing his inner Jeremy Clarkson" lmao
You could say, they were on a mission from god. Lmao
obscured mirage God **
Was he their co-pilot?
LOL Awesome, I am more than a little jealous you can afford to do this sort of thing, but I will happily live vicariously through you!
Almost impossible to drive through we could hardly mantain 100mph lol eds the best
A HAMMER and a CRESCENT WRENCH !!
Awesome! You guys create automotive envy.
Cannonball Run and Ed, what's not to love?!?
This dude is just like Beavis and Butthead cartoon character
This is blowing up big. I believe maybe 2 months ago wen i started, yall had 22k subs
Man, Arne has really long blinks. Talk about "if you blink you'll miss it" if Arne blinks he'll miss an entire decade. Lol.
More of these guys. Please
🙌💃🎊🎉 those crazyKiwis were prob from my hometown ChCh.. Our University started the Undie500 over 20yrs ago... All cars worth $500 or less..& race from Christchurch Uni to Otago Uni in Dunedin...
Once again proving that Matt Happel is a legend!
“Channeling his inner Jeremy Clarkson”
This needs to be done with Model "T"s! But you have to include the build time into the race. I would definitely have to participate.
Bah! Lightweight!
"Amish Sea to Sea" FTW! "Clippety-clop/Clippety-clop"...for a solid month.
32 Hours 7 minutes T-shirt. Nice touch :D Have 1 myself.
Runkle is back ;) (Alex Roy)
Since there's no reciprocity you just got to pay the fine and deal with it. I used to get tickets in Jersey all the time and I'm from New York with a New York license and none of the points ever transferred. Even though the New Jersey cops always lied to me and told me the points for transfer I used to almost laugh at him after that. so it was just kind of biting the bullet and paying the fine
