Stay tuned.
Awsome video! I've been thinking about buying these but was not convinced they did anything. You saved me a hundred bucks lol.
+Brian Morrow Very cool! Glad it helped! Give it a share...hope to get the word out and settle the post-MAF tube debate. lol
rmp5s have you shared this to the370z.com forum?
Brian Morrow I think so, but please...feel free!
Just a little think in my opinion ! the power gain is probably better on more restrictive air box compare to 350z.. for example 4 bangger build for economy.. keep in mind the tube look better and better than stock tube for heat.. Intake temp and engine temp was the same for bolt test ? sorry for my rusty english
The maf tubes aren't designed to make "power", they are designed to stop the turbulence that the stock tubes have. these paired with a higher flow air filter will have a smoother graph on average than one without, the Dyno runs on my car the graph was way smoother with the maf post tubes, they have absolutely no purpose for power just on how the flows. With a k&n drop in and the maf tubes I picked up 14whp on the dyno which was the exact same as my stillen gen 3's. The throttle was more responsive ( before and after my tune ) because less turbulence, they definitely aren't gunna make a difference with any who but will help with the throttle lag on the 370/g37 if you wanted something to help that without a tune the filters and maf tubes do help smooth that out and with the factory air boxes being so efficient it made the same power as my stillens
I just got the z1 silicone and k&n
@@itsdannyb5795 how Are they I’m thinking on getting that layout too
The Dyno he shows at 2:05 reflects this, especially in the upper rpm. A much smoother output.
Thank you I’m considering getting rid of these k&N air intakes and putting the stock ones back on with the k&N air filter and z1 silicone upgrade, ima take your word for it stranger 🫡😂
Honestly I don’t care if it doesn’t increase any hp, they do look good!
They DO look a lot better than the stock piping...for sure.
I think at this point you really have to go ecutek tune to gain anything short of a HUGE investment in forced induction... there are obviously other things you can do with little to no gains. I'd change out the rear diff however, wavetrac is a sweet setup and if you have the funds, you can change the final drive to greatly improve responsiveness
07wrxtr1 Yea man...test pipes and a tune are inbound. I'll check out that diff, though. Never heard of it. Thanks!!
try it again with k&n drop in. some claims they got like 6 to 9 hp gain. but really this should slightly increase the throttle response and like 1 or 2 hp
My car has those. I wasn't testing those, though. I was testing the tubes...which did nothing.
Try it with any top quality air filter and you'll see the difference. Anytime you upgrade to these you should do the filters. That's the point. Although I used them on the g37 so even though it should be the same, maybe not. Who knows.
EL34 XF2 LiFe i can feel my car breathing deeper and throttle response improved slightly but I don’t really feek any hp gains. Maybe a little from the filters
The k&n drop ins add 12-14 hp, a dude on here dynoed before and after
@@el34glo59 He has filters.
thank you was looking at getting some for black friday but def not worth it performance speaking.
I see that swiftech h220x on the shelf, I got the same CPU Cooler :D
Glad to help!
Hahaha...yup...still rocking the Swiftech. Don't think I'll ever buy anything from them again. Had an LED burn out within...like...two months of getting it, too. I've got vids on here of my machine...just search my channel for "The Nasty". What are you running?
I almost bought it. Thanks!
+john doe No problem! Glad to help!
Thank you sir for saving me some cash!!
stephen gillenwaters Absolutely! Glad to help!
I'm only looking to get them because I can't find stock ones so If it don't lose any power I'm cool
Yup...shouldn't lose anything. And they do look better than the stock accordian kind.
Did you notice any difference in sound whatsoever ? Intake tubes do away with the resonator and smooth airflow so I would have thought induction noise might be a bit better ! Gutted it never made more power.
Nope. Didn't notice a change in sound at all.
@@rmp5s dyno result shows gains in hp & torque throughout the rev range but it evens out at the top and produces the same peak power, dissapointed there was no extra induction sound though.
@@Rokyckyj There was no meaningful gain. Only difference was within the margin of error. DEFINITELY nothing you'd feel. The only thing these things are good for is for changing the cosmetic look under the hood.
Mine seems to run much smoother. Air definitely was effected with turbulence original air intake. Now it sounds much more uniform or smooth.
Don't completely disregard these silicon tubes. In this application is was basically pointless but for example in my Lexus is300 the OEM post MAF tube has a silencer that the air must travel through to reduce intake noise. There's no doubt in my mind that the HPS tube provides increased airflow since its a striaght path to the throttle body instead of having to travel though a silencer. If you car has a silencer then this purchase is worth it, if not and the OEM tube already has a straight path than this upgrade is basically for looks.
This video was a literal "before and after". It is what it is.
Only reason I want those is cz the oem tubes suck. It's good unless it robs the engine of power.
So it doesnt do anything at all? Specially if its not tune?
Nah. Not in my case, at least. Makes sense if you think about it. They're a whole...like...6 inches long...lol
@@rmp5s dam man this video is so old and thanks for the reply.
@@cediepurificacion8480 For sure! I still have the car!...still has those stupid tubes on, too. Hahaha
@@rmp5slmaoo i was thinking of getting one to better my throttle response .
@@cediepurificacion8480 Yea, I'd put your money towards a tune. I didn't notice this doing literally anything at all...on the dyno or perceived...nothing.
i think it just breathed better
Nah. They don't do anything.
Exactly what I expected a complete waste of money for those tubes just saying!
Gaia Miranda Performance wise? Yea...pretty much. Cosmetically? If that's your thing, there it is.
Not a waste of money. Hate when people act like that. There are more reasons then just hp. And I've seen different dyno results with the air filters upgraded along with these and I'm also not crazy. I 100% got better response the minute I got done installing these and the AfE filters. I had to push it before. I pulled off with these for the first time and the car jumped. So maybe not dyno results, which aren't everything btw, but definitely got response. It's literally caught me off guard when I hit the gas. So idk what to say but this whole complete waste of money screaming is immature.
This along with performance filters is almost the same as a new CIA considering the g37 already has A CAI. But hey idc, I'm happy and that's all that matters . Not like they're gonna break the bank lol.
