@@tgaming173 You conveyed perfectly why the ending was so hard hitting and why the season as a whole is almost perfect, seriously I started tearing up at the end.
Long before time had a name Ninjago was created by the First Spinjitzu Master by using the four Weapons of Spinjitzu: The Scythe of Quakes, the Nunchucks of Lightning, the Shurikens of Ice, and the Sword of Fire. Weapons so powerful no one can handle all of their power at once. When he passed away his two sons swore to protect them, but the oldest was consumed by darkness and wanted to posess them. A battle between brothers broke out and the oldest was struck down and banished to the Underworld. Peace returned and the younger brother hid the Weapons. But knowing his older brother's relentless ambition for power, he placed a guardian to protect them. And for fear of his own demise, a map for an honest man to hide.
@@tgaming173 thank you for the video, the ending perfectly encapsulated my feelings for the show and great memories it brought to me and my friends. the perfect video representing childhood and nostalgia but also showing how much more it actually was intended to be and a better understanding of something we love/loved
My personal favorite season will always be possession, but this season will always be close second because of the contributions to garmadons story. The biggest thing that made me like the ending though was the fact that Lloyd was the one to send garmadon to the cursed realm fulfilling the initial green ninja prophecy
Oh my god. I loved this arc. As a kid i loved all the elemental powers and now that im a bit older (your age) i love the character development and intricacies of it.
Awesome video! As one who still follows Ninjago, I always appreciate seeing someone talk in-depth about why the show is such a success. I personally have a number of seasons I prefer more, mainly Sons of Garmadon and Master of the Mountain, but every point you make about this season is valid. The animation and fighting scenes especially get better. Dareth do be looking kinda fresh though . . .
This was my favourite season as a kid, but with that parachute scene, Kai and Jay could both use their elements to fly since it was shown earlier in the season. Wonder why they didn't, b ut it's still one of if not the best Ninjago season.
2005 kid here too :D! also, 1:43 is interesting to me because they all generally stopped around the same seasons... for me, i was obsessed with seasons 1-2 for a while, then moved on. when seasons up to 7 came up, i watched all those but never continued when newer ones were added because my younger self absolutely hated the new designs for whatever reason lol. only up until recently i accepted the designs and actually started watching all the things i missed and i'm on seabound right now despite still being young, it feels weird being 17 and watching this show but i've really been enjoying it and i've loved watching analysis videos like this, good work dude!!
I'm in the same boat as you. I watched all the way up to season 5 as a kid. Recently just started watching through the whole show and am on season 9 rn. So far I'm liking the older seasons better than the newer ones with the new designs. I'm also 17 and my sister and I have been binge watching it. Even though the target audience is for kids I absolutely love this show and glad people still have an appreciation for it.
This was the greatest tv show ever, there is no show that can compete with it. It literally shaped my childhood. I dressed up as a ninja 6 years in a row because of it
For me “greatest tv show ever” is tricky to say cause from a complete objective standpoint there are shows with better writing and animation and characters. But from a nostalgic and retrospective look- it’s hard to say many shows come close to matching how incredible it is
The first 4 seasons as a group were so amazing that unfortunately they could never really match it with attempts to replicate that. Every season after this HAD to have a "twist" with the villain connected to one of the ninja, or a "death" of a main character, or new history for Wu and Garmadon. It never quite landed the same, although some individual moments came close, they didn't earn it with a full season of quality.
Ehhhhhh i sort of disagree. I agree on skybound HOT, and every season after 9 but season 5 is pretty much on par woth this season IMO, the first two parts of the ONI trilogy were amazing and almost perfect, almost matching the early seasons. Season 1-2 as well as 4 ( 3 is a little worse imo )are still the best but theyre not that far above or even on par with SOG, Hunted and possession
Another 2005 kid here. Ninjago was my bread and butter in elementary/middle school. From the pilot to Season 5, it was great. I stopped watching after Season 6 when it started going downhill, but I still think of the early seasons (through Season 5) as a masterpiece. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
@Elico 2589 yeah S6 was fine, it wasn't really bad but I didn't like it as much compared to the previous seasons. That also was the last season I watched
2:20 Idk man, this line annoys me more than anything Kai is very much saying he should of been the one to die and Zane should still be around. He's going through some serious survivors guilt. And then Lloyd calls him selfish 🧍 Kai is a very cocky, self-centered character but this was not one of those moments to call him out on that lmao But yeah other than that this season is one of my favorites
Loved this season, favourite one probably My only issue is how Lloyd in like a minute 'controls his fear' when Zane took like 6 episodes, its basically a non-terrible / atrocious version of Anakin winning a podrace when he had never finished one before or being a better combat pilot than trained professionals despite only being 9 and never flying a ship before. But at least Lloyd was the green ninja and rye only beat kylo cuz he was hurt physically and emotionally (as evident from Kylo beating Rey in episode 9)
So completely unrelated, I had a nightmare once where I was fighting Clouse and was just stuck for like five minutes in the wormhole, and then I crawled out and woke up in my bed. Half of my dreams unironically were just a bunch of scenes from shows I watched as a kid idk 💀
@@tgaming173 fr, like sometimes I could fly in a dream and then I’d touch down and couldn’t lift off the ground anymore. I hated that so much 😂 (Another odd dream I had was where I was basically Morrow, and I’d survived the water, and made it to the boat and tried creeping around the boat while trying to avoid the water. One of my favorite kid dreams ngl 😂)
Late 2006 kid here, but GOD this show was just amazing. I was completely obsessed with it but only watched up to season 5, sadly. Watched seasons 1 and 2 twice. It was my childhood. It was our childhood.
This season was basically Squid Game before Squid Game became a thing. I also really liked Chen as a villain unlike all the elemental masters and villains the Ninja have faced which have powers, Chen's true power is his power of manipulation and deciete, to manipulate others fear and to use his words to think ahead, yet that is also his biggest hubris as his power mad hungry obsession to be stronger and not as weak as others around him makes sense and he compensates that insecurity by trying to gain as much as power as he can, like a insecure child.
Phenomenal video. I was born 2004, have loved the show for years, and even revisiting this season years later, it is definitely the best one. I am highly critical of the well-respected Sons of Garmadon, but we see eye-to-eye quite a bit on the best aspects of the season.
my 2nd favorite season! what an absolute banger of a season. all of the ninja are on point, the new masters are fun characters and chen is the most, just the most
THIS VIDEO IS SO UNDERRATED! I nearly cried at the end of watching this. This always was my favorite season of ninjago so I'm glad someone did a video talking about it. Always bothered me as a kid tho that they never brought Amber back. I thought she was going to become the "Orange Ninja",
17:53 actually jakob does appear again, i noticed it in my last rewatch. In episode ten in the beginning when wu explains the plan jakob is there for some reason for multiple seconds he takes up a big part of the ecreen
I was literally rewatching it the other day and thinking about how tournament of elements, hands of time, and possession were probably the best seasons.
17:53 What’s funny is that they actually didn’t. That part could be argued as just being added as a none canon joke. Because in the final episode of the season. There is a very clear camera shoot where Wu Is explaining how they plan to stop the Anaconda, Then they cut to All of the Masters Of Eliminants cheering, Including the Master Of Sound. I’ve paused, counted and re watched that scene countless times. And I can confirm that he is in it. Or you could argue that as just being a animation error, But he was in there for several scenes, So it’s unlikely that they just messed up for one image. But it’s wired because in this image with all The Elemental dragons In the Sky. I only count 15, Meaning that one is missing. So maybe they did originally forget him but someone relished and decided to come back for him, Which would explain how he was back in the final episode
@@tgaming173 It’s all good man, We all make mistakes. I don’t even think I noticed he was there the first time lol. I just remember when I re watched the season, I paused that part to count all of them to make sure if the animators remembered everyone, Then I saw the Master of Sound and was like: Wait, Hold on… That shouldn’t be there
@@tgaming173 5 times? Well that would make sense, This season Is just phenomenal and SO Re watchable. And It’s all good man. I only found out because when the camera cuts to scenes with “ALL” of the main characters in it. I like to pause the episode and count them all to make sure that the animators remembered everyone. But I think that what happened was: The animators we’re trying to make sure that All of the elemental masters were in that scene and probably just forgot about the Cut away Joke about how The Master Of Sound was just left on the island. They most likely did originally forget him but then something happened like Lloyd: Alright let’s do a head, or I guess dragon count to make sure that everyone is here. 1,2,3, 15. Wait a minute- We’re missing one Kai: Wait, Wheres the Master of Sound? Cole: Oh No, We forgot Jacob Karloff: Don’t sorry, Karloff will go back and get Mr Blind Guy. Rest of you go to Ninjago. Will meet up with you soon
I also want to clarify that the scene he was in wasn’t long or obvious. When the camera cut to all of The elemental Masters. He was in the background for like 2 very brief scenes that was in total like half a second. You wouldn’t notice it unless you intentionally paused the video on that scene and started looking for him. He was in the scene where Wu was explaining the Plan in the base about their last attempt to stop The Anacandra before they reached Ninjago. Then the camera cut to The master of Smoke, Invisibility, and Jacob all in the same scene. He’s right next to the 2 of them lol. In season 4 episode 10 minute 4, second 31. So 4:31 and 6:52 In the episode Is where you’ll find him. It’ll feel weird that he’s basically just been hiding in plane sight this hole time and no one in the audience seemingly noticed him, But he is there all right lol
I don't care what you think of this season, but this season has the best scene in all of ninjago. "speed isn't an element." "so says the master of lighting."

The rest of the season is about cole finding out things about his powers and about his mother while he is stuck underground. The plot of seabound is that nya’s powers get out of control and the ninja find out that the reason why is because of something happening deep in the ocean so they go explore the ocean when the find an underwater kingdom where a fish guy named Kalmaar is trying to find two amulets to awaken an ancient beast named wojira. It’s like, When the show started with the Skeleton’s. They just felt a little too Goofy to take seriously, Especially After their arc was over. The Serpentines were better and did feel more threatening, but at the same time they just had a somewhat jokey nature to them and didn’t give off a vibe like: We could conquer all of Ninjago If we wanted or tried hard enough. But when the Stone Army Showed up. We immediately got the impression that they both could and literally were conquering all of Ninjago city like these unstoppable killing machines. And they didn’t have a jokey Nature to them that detracted from being able to take them seriously either. @@doctorofskillz2932 I like season 3 just for the pure fun it provided, like seeing the ninja's get elemental powers without the need of another object, even tho the way they got it was kinda dumb but I understand that it was needed for the shows long term success, and seeing them all go golden.
@@ProjektTaku the character assassination of 3 different characters in a side plot that goes no where is the part that causes me to skip this season every rewatch

One of the best Ninjago retrospectives I've ever seen, always liked Tournament but after watching this it might be my new favorite season. Great work!

@@tgaming173 You conveyed perfectly why the ending was so hard hitting and why the season as a whole is almost perfect, seriously I started tearing up at the end.
@@NinjagoNostalgic honestly me too while writing and editing it-
@@tgaming173 I can imagine, it would be cool if we did a collab on something Ninjago, let me know I'm up for any ideas if you're interested.

It’s something about S4 that makes it feel so great IDK why
Hence the 26 min video
Tournament arcs in any show are goated
I've only just figured out, after 9 years, that the master of sound lived.
Well, that might've changed...
Long before time had a name
Ninjago was created by the First Spinjitzu Master by using the four Weapons of Spinjitzu: The Scythe of Quakes, the Nunchucks of Lightning, the Shurikens of Ice, and the Sword of Fire.
This season was goated. The mobile video game associated with this season also holds a very special place in heart. Great video!
OH MY GOD I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT UGHHHHH I LOVED THAT GAME
A legendary game, I remember playing it all the time on my iPad mini 1.
@@tgaming173 thank you for the video, the ending perfectly encapsulated my feelings for the show and great memories it brought to me and my friends. I still remember the thrill of waiting episodes to find out who the green ninja was going to be and I am really happy to see that other feel the same way abt one of my favourite shows ever.
the perfect video representing childhood and nostalgia but also showing how much more it actually was intended to be and a better understanding of something we love/loved
That’s- really fair
2005 kid here too :D! also, 1:43 is interesting to me because they all generally stopped around the same seasons... for me, i was obsessed with seasons 1-2 for a while, then moved on.
when seasons up to 7 came up, i watched all those but never continued when newer ones were added because my younger self absolutely hated the new designs for whatever reason lol. only up until recently i accepted the designs and actually started watching all the things i missed and i'm on seabound right now
despite still being young, it feels weird being 17 and watching this show but i've really been enjoying it and i've loved watching analysis videos like this, good work dude!!
But from a nostalgic and retrospective look- it’s hard to say many shows come close to matching how incredible it is
@@tgaming173 couldn’t have said it better
Season 8 did it right. Harumi would have been the best twist villain if it hadn't been spoiled.
I’d say the peak of Ninjago is seasons 4-6 and 8-9
@@shortstackofpancakes13 I have to be honest, the WildBrain era was also one of the best eras too.
2:20 Idk man, this line annoys me more than anything
Kai is very much saying he should of been the one to die and Zane should still be around. He's going through some serious survivors guilt. And then Lloyd calls him selfish 🧍
Kai is a very cocky, self-centered character but this was not one of those moments to call him out on that lmao
But yeah other than that this season is one of my favorites
Season 4 will always be the best
Preach!
S4 was kai season @@tgaming173
This has given me so much nostalgia. I always remember loving this season. I really just want to rewatch this season now
i cried bro i miss this so much. Happy this was my childhood
Loved this season, favourite one probably
My only issue is how Lloyd in like a minute 'controls his fear' when Zane took like 6 episodes, its basically a non-terrible / atrocious version of Anakin winning a podrace when he had never finished one before or being a better combat pilot than trained professionals despite only being 9 and never flying a ship before. But at least Lloyd was the green ninja and rye only beat kylo cuz he was hurt physically and emotionally (as evident from Kylo beating Rey in episode 9)
Here after it was confirmed we're getting another Tournament this year.
Favorite thing that came out of this season was skylor, too bad she didn’t become a series regular
Trueee
I love the use of Persona 5 music in the background
This will forever be my favorite season
So completely unrelated, I had a nightmare once where I was fighting Clouse and was just stuck for like five minutes in the wormhole, and then I crawled out and woke up in my bed.
Half of my dreams unironically were just a bunch of scenes from shows I watched as a kid idk 💀
THATS HOW IT IS SOMETIMES THOUGH! Childhood nightmares were bizarre
@@tgaming173 fr, like sometimes I could fly in a dream and then I’d touch down and couldn’t lift off the ground anymore. I hated that so much 😂
(Another odd dream I had was where I was basically Morrow, and I’d survived the water, and made it to the boat and tried creeping around the boat while trying to avoid the water. One of my favorite kid dreams ngl 😂)
I definitely preferred this much more as a kid but I did enjoy listening to you talk about it, made me like this season a bit more
I’m glad :)
Remember watching this show on TV when I was in kindergarten, and Tournament of Elements was the only arc that I could vividly remember
I personally like s5 more but S4 is definitely in my top 3
Seeing wu be genuinely angry and show actual emotion terrified and surprised me
LITERALLY SAME
this video is an absolute masterpiece, thank you for posting it
Thank you for commenting I’m glad you enjoyed it :)
Phenomenal video. I was born 2004, have loved the show for years, and even revisiting this season years later, it is definitely the best one. I am highly critical of the well-respected Sons of Garmadon, but we see eye-to-eye quite a bit on the best aspects of the season.
my 2nd favorite season! what an absolute banger of a season. all of the ninja are on point, the new masters are fun characters and chen is the most, just the most
What’s your favorite if you don’t mind me asking?
I remember doing the same. Getting back from school and watching the very newest episode, this made my childhood, even now its an awesome show
THIS VIDEO IS SO UNDERRATED!
I nearly cried at the end of watching this. This always was my favorite season of ninjago so I'm glad someone did a video talking about it. Always bothered me as a kid tho that they never brought Amber back. I thought she was going to become the "Orange Ninja",
Tysmmmmm 😭😭
Looking back, i never realised just how much this season spewed mortal kombat 1 vibes
17:53 actually jakob does appear again, i noticed it in my last rewatch. In episode ten in the beginning when wu explains the plan jakob is there for some reason for multiple seconds he takes up a big part of the ecreen
Yeah I had that pointed out to me I just didn’t spend enough time double cjecking
Hm thanks for pointing that out I guess I overlooked it
@@tgaming173 It’s all good man, We all make mistakes. I don’t even think I noticed he was there the first time lol. I just remember when I re watched the season, I paused that part to count all of them to make sure if the animators remembered everyone, Then I saw the Master of Sound and was like: Wait, Hold on… That shouldn’t be there
@@Anime_Stand_5 bro Fr and I’ve seen this season 5 times 💀
@@tgaming173 5 times? Well that would make sense, This season Is just phenomenal and SO Re watchable.
And It’s all good man. I only found out because when the camera cuts to scenes with “ALL” of the main characters in it. I like to pause the episode and count them all to make sure that the animators remembered everyone. But I think that what happened was: The animators we’re trying to make sure that All of the elemental masters were in that scene and probably just forgot about the Cut away Joke about how The Master Of Sound was just left on the island.
They most likely did originally forget him but then something happened like
Lloyd: Alright let’s do a head, or I guess dragon count to make sure that everyone is here. 1,2,3, 15. Wait a minute- We’re missing one
Kai: Wait, Wheres the Master of Sound?
Cole: Oh No, We forgot Jacob
Karloff: Don’t sorry, Karloff will go back and get Mr Blind Guy.
This was fantastic and the analysis was brilliant, I love Lego Ninjago so much.
I don't care what you think of this season, but this season has the best scene in all of ninjago.
"speed isn't an element."

Yes I also like master of the mountain and seabound tho
@@shortstackofpancakes13 haven't seen seabound yet and kinda off forgot master of the mountain do you mind giving me a summary for both please and thank you
Master of the mountain is about the ninja getting invited to the kingdom of shintaro and finding out about an underground mining operartion being ran by the king of shintaro who goes under the identity of the skull sorcerer. Throughout the season, Nya learns more about her powers along with the help of her mother, Maya. I hope these summary’s helped :)

The best one toooo 😔
@@tgaming173 Yeah, Like the Stakes of the show when The Stone Army showed up was: Holy S*** We have to get EVERYONE the hell out of here NOW
It’s like, When the show started with the Skeleton’s.
Like when their on screen, Their basically always serious and really gives off a terrifying power vibe like, No matter what we do, We’re Un able to stop these things like a unbeatable swarm of evil.
