Nice video, definately the 80s used to be motorsports golden era. I'm missing endurance racing cars (Group-C) in the video, as these used to be the craziest machines human ever created, capable of going 400 kph for 24hours and beating the hell out of F1 cars from the same era, especially having so much power with just about 890 kg.
Lautaro Pepa Behind every smart technology there is a smart brain. Please recognise the talent which is still required today. But not just the drivers.
I remember vague on everything, but my dad was a motor sport junkie, he took us to all of these famous places the rally history like 1000 lake rally in Finland, the Mone in Monaco,..... if I see this pictures from this era, the memories coming back and I get goose bumps, I just can say thank you dad that I could witnessed this time with you...... and thank you Antti, that you bring me back these memories.
Everytime I watch this video, I think of my father. I’m lucky he’s still around. But it certainly brings me back to happy times sharing one of the few things we have in common: our love for this sport and these categories especially.
This guy Antti is only 20 years old?!! Can't believe it cauz the background musics he uses for his videos are in no F way related to his age! Good job, respect and hats off..
Antti you should get involved in a movie on motorsport or something because your videos almost make me cry, seriously. I felt so much emotions by watching this and also the 1998 wrc RAC rally.
of course this is the golden era of motorsport! 80's when nobody who doesn't really understand what is motorsport taking too much involvement. the era when no one too much thinking about the 'green' thing.. just pure passion, sheer bravery (Y)
Adelle's Turning Tables fits quite well on this video too. Jan Hammer's song is a master piece but muting this and playing Adelle's song gives a very different experience.
racing will be the death of me. all the blood and sweat poured into hours and hours of tuning my car are just building me a faster/funner coffin. theres nothing i enjoy more, you can bury me on the street
Bel video complimenti! Anche se avrei voluto vedere almeno una comparsa della leggendaria Delta Integrale plurivincitrice dei mondiali Rally di fine anni '80
the increased power/performance of cars, wide range of talented drivers and low safety regulations made the 80s the best era for racing.
Senna,Toivonen,Villeneuve...when Gods walked the Face of Earth.
Bellof
Senna is overrated.
@@justussaikko2557 Yes, absolutely yes, were many others driver like him, Bellof, Villeneuve ecc...
truly
@@seawolf9616 😆just like Hamilton
Ohh god I was born too late!!! Fantastic little video, and that music is so damn 80s! hahaha
after 12 years this is still one of my favourite videos of all time, thank you Antti

Great song choice and visual
This video deserves much more views. Is one of the most beautiful videos on RUclips.
So damn good Crockett's Theme and slow motion racing!
Great video. Love the '80s rally cars.
Just blow my mind, but this video need one more thing, the cars of the WSC under the Gr.C regulations, thats is the golden era of the 80's.
Fuck, it would be a dream to be born in the late 60's and go experience all of this.
Great video. Crockett's Theme fits perfectly.
Ahhh..the old italian cars (Fiat/Abarth, Lancia and Alfa Romeo)😍😍
This is and will always remain one of the great videos in the internet.
Watching this while taking a shit that you've been holding in for a while is the most peaceful feeling ever.
80's, 90% mechanics 10% electronics
2010's 90% electronics 10% mechanics
Lautaro Pepa
Behind every smart technology there is a smart brain. Please recognise the talent which is still required today. But not just the drivers.
The calibre of modern F1 drivers has dropped significantly from senna's days.
50% mechanics, 50% electronics.
That would be better.
@@Sniparator Behind that small technology there is a short life of the product. Mechanic lasts ten times longer
80s 100% big ball
Tive o grande prazer de viver essa década de ouro! O mundo era bem melhor!
1980's-early 2000's are THE golden era of Motorsport

drivers in the 80s to mid 90s (in any kind of motorsports) had balls of steel. it was a real connection of man and machine.

@aragonfe The song is called "Crockett's Theme", by Jan Hammer
Can’t forget ending the f1 season with wonderful tracks like ceasars palace and having 7 other american street circuits on the calendar!
Fantastic :')
Missing some Group C and DTM stuff. But those Group B Rallye-cars were just monsters. Sad to be a 90s kid.
I've been looking at buying a new car and I think after watching this i'm going to go for a 205 rallye
Have you?
AgainstDaOddz good luck to find one 😁

i missed it, i was born in it, but too late.back when the fans were as much a part of the race as the racers themselves. :(

No Group C or 80’s Indycar?
Probably no indycar because of the whole CART/Indycar/USAC fiasco.
@bry3500 and Toivonen , Röhrl , Alen , Kankkunen , Mouton , Blomqvist and many more
Need some clips of imsa gto in here!
Always nice to see a clip from you.
Specially Ayrton Senna.
Where do you get the material. I think you must be a friend from Bernie Ecclestone :-).
