I really like how this guy's "ads" for his business are actually useful tips on technique; that is, ads that aren't really ads(but nor are concealed as such) but are worth watching in themselves. I'd buy from CheapJoe's if I didn't live across the street from an art store.
It's smart marketing. During the shutdown last year, I began shopping with Cheap Joe's and find the customer service to be excellent. Most people and businesses sell, sell, sell, and offer nothing, but not Cheap Joe's Art Stuff. I also have an art store very close - 3 actually, but there are some items that only Cheap Joe's offers or items that aren't readily available in my local shops.
Good teacher. I learned about some values, which can be difficult for me. Your compositions are also helpful. Thanks for your teachings, please continue, I use your stuff.
Wow! I really enjoyed this! I started watercolor after I retired two years ago and I used hardly any water. Then I thought I was doing it wrong. Turns out I was just doing it different! There is no right or wrong in art, right?
I love the video. I adore you Joe! I never paint watercolor the traditional way as you can see from my baby Icon on the left. This is a watercolor. I always save the whites and lights of the paper as in traditional but thats all. I don't use black either.
Love this video it gives you a feeling of being FREE and not confined to using the paint the other way as most teach. I'm ready to give it a try. Love the richness of the paints anxious to purchase some soon. Thanks so much! Hope you have videos on watercolor papers how to use like hot and cold pressed confusing to me....:)
Well it's pretty simple really. Hot press paper is smooth. Cold press paper has texture. So you choose the one you want according to the effect you desire.
It was fun to watch you and your method. Thanks for naming all the colors, and brushes as you went along.

I’d buy from him too, if I didn’t live in the U.K.

That overhead camera's such a help to understanding what you're doing, Joe. I learn so much from you and watch your vids over and over. Thank you.
I think you are so talented and such an entertaining person to watch and listen too. Keep painting and posting please!!!! Fondly
I just found these demos, Joe. Really enjoyed watching you paint. Thank you.
A very nice man and teacher
Love the alternate use of w/c. Live in Missouri now and miss going to this wonderful store in Boone.
