    $200?? I got mine ( green) for $114. I like it but don't love it. The size is nice and I like the width of the bracelet. A little rattley and the clasp is cheap. I really wish there was a display case back and probably my biggest gripe is it is not self winding. Accuracy has been just fine. I do wish I bought the orange as that really pops. As far as Invicta's go.....i do own a Grand Diver which i no longer wear. However I will say, the Invicta compared to Orient has a much better clasp and it is a display case back. If Invicta didn't have crap all over the case it would be much better

    Nothing wrong with Orient watches. In fact I’d prefer them over Omega any day. Is the Omega better made? I would hope so at that price point, but are they reliable? I have a friend who has a planet ocean chrono and a moonwatch and both broke down within 3 months of each other at 4 years old. Omega said they needed servicing at a cost of £490 each!!! 4 years and they need servicing??? I have a 1968 Mido watch that has never been apart and still runs ok. I know people are going to say “just like any machine it will need servicing” I’d rather buy a new Orient watch every 4 years than waste money on any Omega. £4000 watch should last 50 years before anything breaks. I keep on wearing my Mido

    • @AvgJoeWatchReviews

    • @snowmean1
      @snowmean1 4 года назад

      Unfortunately this isn't how it works. People buying expensive watches because they know that with proper service watches will last forever. They won't rust or scratch because of the premium materials etc. Yes they needs to be serviced as any other mechanical watches (Orient included), but after service you still will have a masterpiece on your wrist made from premium materials unlike Orient. Don't get me wrong, I like Orient and love my Ray II, however I admit that Omega Seamaster is a better watches all round.
      Speaking about servie, I have Certina DS Podium Automatic with a well known mass produced ETA 2824-2 caliber, and its service cost ~70% of the new watch cost, not 10% as with Omega, and I cannot say that Certina is some sort of luxury brand at all. It cost that much because the entire caliber should be disassembled, cleaned from old grease, inspected, all wered parts should be replaced and then it should be assembled back, tested and adjusted. Most of mid-range brands like Tissot or Certina are using machine-assembled calibers which makes them less expensive, however service is fully manual procedure performed by certified serviceman, hence the cost.
      It's like completely disassemble 5 years old corolla, replace all the weared parts with new and then assemble it back manually. Of course the cost will be sky high.

  • @BCallum
    @BCallum 3 года назад +1

    I agree, I hardly spend $5000 on a car. Would I want an Omega...Hell Yeah!!! It will ever happen? LOL, Hell NO. Not in my snack bracket. Most of my watches are under $300. Can you get a "quality" watch for that...Yes, I believe so. Are they original time pieces to last for generations...no. My Vostok will out live me, my Steeldive tuna copy of a copy of a homage...not too likely. But at $150, it's accurate to 5 - 7 secs a day, and very cheap to service (NH35 can be bought for $35 Canadian)...LOL. Still, that Omega is a beautiful watch and anyone would love it in their collection.
