looks amazing! Thanks for suggesting some alternative paints when you go through. I watch so many tutorial videos and I'm always trying to work out what a similar paint might be, I don't want to keep buying the same one from different brands !
Defiantly going to use this tutorial for when my knights come in in the box set. Are you going to do the abominant? I like the GW scheme but dont know what to do.
In the codex there's lots of cool examples of paint schemes. I just picked a bronze/maroon color scheme - no idea if that's one of the house colors haha :)
I've been wondering what colour scheme I wanted to paint my knights, and this looks like the one for me! Is it a scheme for a specific house? Or more just a generic knights scheme?
@@WatchItPaintIt I finally purchased a chaos knight box set and boy am I overwhelmed. Also lacking heavily on tools and material. You should make a basic painting tool and paint brush list video or something of the sorts!
@@WatchItPaintIt Your videos are really easy to digest for guys like me who are inept so figured I'd mention that suggestion. I am excited, but really afraid I'm going to mess it up lol. Probably will only attempt the war dogs for now and leave the knight for when I am a little better. I really just would like to bring them with my thousand sons army for the fun of it.
@@Fast85FoxGT Yeah start with the smaller ones for sure - and you can't mess it up - just get some paint on it, and it'll be great :) It's chaos - so if your paint job is a bit spotty in some places, add dirt and rust to cover those parts!
@@WatchItPaintIt ok I'm still tempted to just blu tack mine to keep the possibility of repositionning it. (And i'm quite lazy so i don't want to magnet lol)
My hands don't go numb, but my back & neck get sore after a few hours. Maybe your chair is in a bad position? One of my favorite painters does a video talking about posture. (It's like 3 min in) ruclips.net/video/qW0fpSkgwLA/видео.htmlsi=sxnrLMuwsXVPcC_c
I've heard it pronounced both ways, so I never knew if I was saying it correctly! The word is misspelled in the books and the paint pots - it should be spelled Abbadon not Abaddon.
Thank you to Games Workshop for sending an early access copy of the Chaos Knights Army Set to Ben & I :D
the stippling on the armour panels turned out amazing
These were exactly the sort of painting tips I was hoping to find, and on the first video too!
Right on! :D

Just got these as my first unit! I’m excited to follow your guides with these
Amazing tutorial! Thanks! Can´t wait to paint mine :)
wow great looking model, great guide. Good job and thanks
Thank you!
Started experimenting with volumetric highlights and using stippling to achieve that is an interesting idea.
Yeah I kept it pretty basic, but you could keep going brighter with the colors to get more "volume". I stole the idea from Trovarion 😁
I like how u are using the speed paints as I'm just about to buy the box.
They're pretty handy! I don't usually paint an entire model with them, but they're very good for quickly painting details.
Thank you for the painting tutorial. 5:11 What colors did you use for mixing.
Definitely gonna go back over my knight and try stippling.
It's easy to do, and gives a cool weathered look. It's the easy part that I like :D
This looks fun to Blow Up as an ORK
Nice job Mike!
Thanks man! :D

over the course of this video i went from mildly interested in chaos knights to wanting to get that box..
The big knight looks amazing - haven't built it yet. The "Abominant".
I've been wondering what colour scheme I wanted to paint my knights, and this looks like the one for me! Is it a scheme for a specific house? Or more just a generic knights scheme?
Totally generic - I think. I just thought maroon and bronze would look cool together :)
Damn I wish I could paint this well lol.
Just takes practice - I'm definitely no expert, but I paint a little bit every day, so it gets easier over time :)

@@Fast85FoxGT That's actually a great idea for a video :)
Have fun with that box set haha. Each knight is a major project!

Nice color scheme !
Did you glued the torso on the legs after painting it or u just blu tack it ?
I did glue everything - except the arms at the shoulders (they interlock - you don't "need" glue) and where the magnets attach.

Can i get a paint list?
Do your hands ever go numb while painting? Mine do all the time, it sucks.
