dude... basically every major OEM has a premium design line, like this on windows machines.... Every Surface, Dell XPS, HP Spectre, Lenovo Yoga 9XX.... True that the Matebook takes some design cues to the next level, but everybody compromise on something.... I am a Surface Book user, and I love the power, versatility and overall performance of it, but the main compromise is the thickness when its closed due to the gap. Dell XPS has a great balance and it is mentioned to be the best laptop on many sites, however, the camera placement is bad. Lenovo, HP and many others suffer from bad or tiny sound.... Even the MacBooks themselves compromise on user experience so that they can deliver fashionable designs... but the keyboard is one of the main criticisms...
@@buccob Most windows labtops have trash keyboards compared to macbook. Lenovo is the best tho.. But then again they have a shit trackpad. Its good for windows labtops to start copying the macbook chassy.
Not exactly "copying", but creating features that serve similar purpose. After all it is the design Apple has created, and although I am a PC guy, I would not like having a premium notebook that "takes a lot of clues" from another manufacturer.
Michael definitiely deserves more views and subs! I started watching his videos back when he was with PocketNow. His natural way of presenting his view with his style of videography is on par with the big guys! Keep it up!
If it did an Essential Phone style super minimal notch then I could live with that. Wouldn't be a problem in media viewing since the 3:2 screen would have letterboxing and most programs would have title bars so it wouldn't get in the way of daily use either. They could have even then thrown in Windows Hello facial detection as well.
I recently bought a Mate SE (phone) and I love it. 64gb of onboard storage at a $200 price point is awesome. I love Huawei products. I have my doubts over the validity of the complaints against Huawei and the Chinese government as the state dept has yet to throw any official charges out. Until then I'll keep using Huawei products.
Chris Eckersen It's obvious that the government is afraid that Huawei will take over Apple. Huawei is popular in all of Europe and there's not a single government or secret service that accused them of stealing data or privacy issues.
Of course they won't offer conclusive evidence. That would just show which methods the gov is aware of and prompt the Chinese to abandon those methods, develop new ones and/or use those methods to obfuscate what's really going on. As for other countries they sell in, almost every country has alleged that Huawei and other Chinese companies send data home. Also, while you might not care that China has your data...you should care that your device can effectively be turned into an attack vector for something more important as part of a Botnet etc. There's a reason the Chinese demand US products present their OS source code for audits and reviews before being sold in their country. Of course, you're free to go right ahead and buy Chinese devices if you consider them to be better bang for buck, but please don't downplay the security risks.
Really like the look of this computer! I need a new laptop for school which will involve a fair bit of CAD software. Think the top model is powerful enough? Or should I resort to something beefier? Thanks
Justin Y They don’t want you cuz Apple will lose ... If Chinese wanna spy they can spy with other products like one plus which is not banned but one plus is low in the market share where Apple is the third now and Samsung is the first and this banned company is the second so you see where am I going with this
From June onwards I'm going to be working hard on my Tech RUclips channel. And Mr. Fisher, your videos and MKBHD's videos are my inspiration. The quality, the smoothness, everything.
Please continue to present pre-released products. It was a pre-released Surface laptop review that induced me to watch out for it. Best laptop I've ever used. (Average: 2 laptops per year.)
Hi Danny... thanks for that great video ;-) I really want to get myself one too!!! But what about the fan-noise, when it comes to high performance output? Could you give us a short report/audio-video on that? Looking forward... and thanks once more ;-)))
Great review Michael! I always wait a bit before making my decisions on buying a laptop to make time for updates and small changes that the hardware may see in time. So I will be picking this guy up this year! 2019 that is! Keep those reviews coming!!
Hey MrMobile! Will you be reviewing the new Dell XPS 15 the one with the G processor? I'm considering either Huawei matebook x pro or the new dell xps 15 (not 2in1)
really considering buying this. I haven't used a webcam in a laptop north of 5 years so I prefer it to be hidden instead of having to put some kind of security tape on it. It reminds me of my 13 inch MBP except runs windows. I'm sure that's what they were going for and I prefer windows now to Mac osx. This checks a lot of boxes for me and hope to score a deal before the end of summer.
Knowing your work on RC model ships I kinda figured you'd like World of Warships, and sure enough :) Nice to see a favourite game on a favourite reviewers video, top notch work as usual!
I’m looking for a laptop that’s light and portable but I can also do 4K video editing on. Design is a factor too. I love the design of this laptop, the size, and the portability, but can I edit 4K on it comfortably?
I bought mine from Microsoft because for $150, I get their no - questions asked replacement warranty. So if it gets dropped, spill damage, etc., I'm covered for 2 years.
Your videos are great they cover all aspects of the product in a simple and intuitive way also the reviews are unbiased which I like. Keep making videos. The fact that the device checks all the boxes that I consider while buying a laptop is good enough for me. Now it has design ques form a macbook but it's fine no big deal as a matter of fact I even prefer the macbook style approach. 1] It's build is impressive. 2] Display is sharp as well as 3:2 which I prefer. 3] Great keyboard and trackpad with good ports selection. 4] All day battery and good performance (both cpu, gpu and ssd).
the whole huawei/zte thing had nothing to do with gadgets anyway, people are dumb/racist the original concern was with huawei/zte infrastructure hardware in our LTE network
So I want to ask, how is workflow for this PC like, when running Softwares like Adobe Lr, Ps, Pr etc. Is it as good as some of the other brands out there?
Great idea, too much money...but I really like it....totally conflicted about this one! The camera(1MP, really??)is a poor gimmick, but the rest is well thought out and gorgeous. Depending on the final cost in the US, assuming it's even coming here, will determine it's popularity overall. Over $1500.00 I don't see it selling much.
I don't hate it,lol. It's very good for what it is, but very bad for what it forces you to do...Apple's ecosystem is too, um, stifling for me. I like choice, and Apple doesn't give it. Great laptop if you can stand that, though.
It's funny how Huawei has the whole privacy fiasco all the while having the webcam that lets you go private...but really, this is a pretty snazzy laptop. I do wish it was a bit more unique in its design, but considering everything else about it it seems like a good buy. And that screen looks beautiful.
Can't wait for a 2019 rendition with the new 8565U processor, 15.6" or Even 17" with the 25watt INVIDIA MX-150 with 4GB of RAM and the webcam relocated at the top. Maaan, I'm stoked
I really don't know if I should buy this laptop or the Dell XPS 15 I like the design of the Matebook more but the only downside is gaming. My current laptop sucks because it's so old and I can barely play any games without lags. I've heard that the gaming experience on the Matebook isn't really that good but the one on the XPS15 is. I'd like to play games like Life Is Strange and I want to buy VR glasses and I really don't know which one to choose

LG V30 -----> Goes to Me :P
Save one for me
MrMobile [Michael Fisher] is the giveaway international??
Does it international😊😊??
I actually love the webcam integration. I never use my webcam and I know most other people don't either. Having that privacy is nice.
Saw a lot of people using post-it to cover the camera...
agreed! i like it
Hmm.. Corona times says otherwise 😉😉😉
Oh how times have changed.
Excellent review. Even though the MateBook looks similar to the MacBook, I want to see more Windows machines with a premium design like this.

top stuff 👏🔥

Why no NOTCH for laptops?
That, IMO, is the only place it belongs
This is actually a great idea! The top middle edge of the screen is seldom used for anything important.
Because Windows don't want to deal with that shit
AllAboutTechnologies Coz a laptop does not need sensors like proximity, Infrared and ofc a earpiece.....
The camera placement is awesome. I also like the angle. dat quality doh
The charger is also great.
Jason Edson let’s face it the angle is shit
But the angle captures my fingers beautifully
You like looking up people's noses?
Camera angle is the worst.
If you compare with Macbook pro, the cam quality is way better.
It is a joy to watch Mmobile's Reviews
Couldn't stop laughing at the face you were making when you popped that camera up. That screen looks absolutely stunning, way ahead of the Dell.
Wow... The links in the description were really on point on this video... Thanks for actually providing sources for your research.
Last time I was his early the channel was called pocket now ;)
Ansh Shah Finally a good last-time-I-was-this-early joke! Props!
Huawei looks much nicer than that macbook you compared it to
Jaque Glassé no
That logo on the back is really ugly. It generally looks less refined.
We know you hate Apple but don't humiliate yourself here.
EtronV to be honest the only thing that looks nicer is the bezels are screen
EtronV
No for real it looks nicer when we talk about screen less bezels and pass the one hand test like you just saw and I don’t use camera that much
How do you feel this compares against like the Xiaomi Notebook Pro?
Is it powerfull for gaming? Thank u
This was great!
Thanks for watching on a Friday night!
MrMobile [Michael Fisher] Of course. We both know you are still working on a Friday night:)

Allegedly. Our government has offered no conclusive evidence. I certainly don't trust our government.
Chris Eckersen and after all companies like Google and Facebook are collecting data too.
Chris Eckersen yes I agree. I think we US customers should be more concerned with what our friend Zuckerberg has been doing...

This laptop is too pretty!
OML I think this is the best laptop review I have ever seen. Well done!
Love Your videos! Does that laptop can export 4k videos??
Can i please know what naval game were you playing in the test ? thanks a lot and great quality review as usual !
That is absolutely beautiful.
Yes. MacBooks are beautiful.
Yeah but look at that bottom bezel man. Wew. Sexy.
Really like the look of this computer! I need a new laptop for school which will involve a fair bit of CAD software. Think the top model is powerful enough? Or should I resort to something beefier?
Thanks

Should be good
5:52 If the FBI, CIA and NSA urge you not to use some device then you should definitely use it.
Jajajajajajaj
Haha
It's more for economic reasons than for security, but when in doubt do a clean wipe on the computer.

Honest question, how is the gaming? Can you play modern? I'm looking for casual, pubg or so mostly looking for school
What a beauty. Michael Fisher. Not the laptop haha. Another excellent review. I'll have my eyes glued on it, till the prices come down a bit.
great review as usual, how about the new gigabyte aero 15x, is it good for your wonderful?
I liked your black ring. From where did you buy? Can you please share?
Any problems of overheating since you've had it? It's one of the only things I worry about...
How could you even produce these videos? You are AWESOME.
Anyone notice that windows xp background?
Only the 90s kids can see it 😂😂😂

I really do want to buy this machine for college but my only concern is if it breaks, how do I ship it to Huawei for repair?
Is it good for video editing?
To me that screen glare seems like a problem. What do you think @mrmobile?
Love to look forward to a MrMobile vid every Friday night.
What should i buy , Dell XPS 13 or Huawei MateBook X Pro ?
Please continue to present pre-released products. It was a pre-released Surface laptop review that induced me to watch out for it. Best laptop I've ever used. (Average: 2 laptops per year.)

Mr. mobile what are you playing at the beginning of the video? Thanks.
LoL who cares about webcams nowadays? This laptop looks and performs like heaven. An absolute stunner.
always love your video and presentation. Can't wait for the huawei p20 pro review !!
What's better this or the Dell XPS?
how's the fan triggering? easy or hard? and how's the heat?
That screen! Great video, good sir.👍 I hope you'd make a video about those new Lenovo chromebooks too.😀
even through the camera, where displays always look somewhat off it still is a damn georgeous display, might consider getting one of these laptops
I always lovin' MrMobile's choice in video review music! Snazzy!

I watched a lot of reviews about this computer and this was by far the best one. good job
I love the review, but I'm wondering how you're playing World of Warships on a windows 10 PC. I have not found a way to get Google Play on my desktop.
You got me at 2:24 hahaha! Great review as always.

does the thunderbolt port mean that it's compatible with external GPU?
Excellent review! Even though I really want this laptop I'm very happy with my Lenovo Yoga 720 13 inch which I paid $650 for this past fall.
