my choir was supposed to sing this beautiful piece of art and many other pieces in cathedrals across ireland but it got cancelled without reschedule due to the pandemic. so now i’m just listening to all the music from that trip, knowing all the words and cues and notes for no reason it’s really sad.
I was going to perform a three part version with my choir for out spring concert for 9th grade, but the pandemic makes so I'll probably never be able to perform this again.
My choir performed this last year. Whenever you do perform it, it will be a moment you’ll never forget. It’s such a beautiful piece and just take your time with it and make it as beautiful as you can. It’s my favorite and almost if the choirs favorite we have ever performed
Same with my chorus. We were going to sing this last year, but obviously all of our performances got cancelled, and as I was graduating from the school, I won't ever get to sing it again in the same way. It's so sad yet so nostalgic in the same way.
My director was teaching us this song but the earthquake stopped from happening. Even now during this pandemic I miss singing amongst my fellow musicians, I really do. Choral music is/means so much for me.
My choir is practicing this right now to do as our grand finale piece, where we have all of our high school choirs (Phoenix choir, concert, A Capella, Mens, Womens, Xela) so about 200 kids, and I'm so excited. I think it will sound awesome.
@@rkh_drums12288 Sorry for my slow response, but it did get recorded as an unlisted video. Here is a link to it that should start the video right at the beginning of the song (in case the link doesn't work, we start singing Ad Astra at about 1:18:55) ruclips.net/video/p-4k2-HFqzI/видео.html
my Highschool choir sang this during my freshman year, im so lucky that i was able to sing it! just remembering how it felt to sing is enough to make me tear up lol
I love the message and the beauty of this song! My choir director is letting us each pick some songs next week that we may possibly sing, and this will definitely be my pick!
My son is 15 and part of our city’s boys choir, and the high school tenor/bass choir sang this in their Christmas program tonight. So many people were moved to tears, and he said this was his favorite piece of music he’s sang in his 7 years with the choir.
i love this song in choir. we’re singing it this year, it’s the first i’ve ever heard of the piece, but i loved it the moment i heard it was related to space. this is an amazing composure that is extremely fun to sing.
I remember singing this song with my choir in middle school. To this day, it's my favorite song I've ever sang. What I would give to perform it again. ❤
Gosh I’m so excited to sing this with all the choir groups at my school its a beautiful song it reminds me of dreams, stars, and motivation it’s just so elegant
my school choir is doing this and i absolutely love this song especially the masculine voices on the part where “tho u may be weary…for the stars will guide u home” it’s giving me chills. and every-time i hear this piece, i think instantly of night time travels/ adventures under the stars, and i get voyager vibes and it’s everything.
We sung this song in my choir at our local All County, our choir AND the audience loved it so much that we had to sing it again at our Spring Concert, it really is a beautiful piece! To the Stars!
I watched the eighth grade concert choir (which I will be shortly inducted into as soon as the next school year starts) at my school perform this song and the professor listening to the performance said she heard over 10 high school choirs perform the piece and the eighth grade choir performed it better than all of them.
My choir teacher in high school loved theses songs by this artist. We sang two of the songs my last y ars of high school. They sounded just absolutely beautiful.
At my school, our advanced, (chamber) choir has assistant conductors, where some students are selected to teach a song to the class and conduct it in concert. I was picked and I chose to do this piece. My choir also had the honor of performing Sisi Ni Moja, my favorite composition of the one and only Jacob Narverud. Thank you.
i sang this last year during my school’s spring concert- it was so fun to do, definitely my favorite typical choral piece we did. i still remember all the notes a year later :)))
I go to UNK in Nebraska and I’m so excited for you to come work with us next month!! I love your songs, I’ve been singing them in choir for years. This is my favorite one that we’re doing.
Me and my grades choir is learning this for our performance in a few weeks! I almost cried hearing it for the first time, it really is a beautiful piece and it’s so fun to sing! I feel so grateful to get to sing this piece with people I care about :)
i love this song so much, its so powerful and i was supposed to sing this for a reigon choir audition probably like two years ago now and i can only remember how devestated i was when my director told me i wasnt eligible to audition anymore, i had spent all my freetime for months learning this piece because of how much it moved me and now years later i still know all the words and i have the same passion for this song, i just wish i couldve shown how much i loved it to those damn judges

I sang the SSAA version with a choir outside of school. This is a really beautiful piece. I wouldn’t see my school choir doing this because we sound bad and my choir teacher picks all theater songs.
From what I've been told by my past choir director, the guy who wrote this song is married to my choir director at my high school! (he's my future choir director at least)
