Audi A4 B5 instrument cluster first simulation test via Arduino on SimHub- ETS2

- Here is a another instrument cluster simulation from a 1999 Audi A4 B5. Currently the cluster is given a bare basic configuration for the Speedometer, Tachometer. The fuel is quite jumpy. The temp sometimes works. I need to figure out the oil temp and coolant temperature if possible. If it indeed works only as a sensor then I’ll convert it to a boost gauge most likely.
Also there will be an oil low pressure and temp alarm beeping. It was pretty annoying so I opened the cluster and snipped one of the buzzer wires.

hello do you have tips to wire up audi tt mk1 clauster with arduino uno?
If it’s can based you need to have can IDs
Hi, what is the part number for the cluster? I am quite interested in this project.
Hi, Thank you for the interest. Mine had the following on the label " VDO 110.008.990/006" & "8DO 919 911" and on the outside temp display module at the base it says "8L0 919 272". It's from a US 1999 Audi A4. Hope this helps.
Cheers!
Hi looking for help with my project would you be able to help? Vw golf mk4 speedometer I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong exactly and could really use some insight :)
Hi,
The clusters Audi A4 & BMW E36 are non CAN bus type clusters shown in my channel. Which means the data fro the game can be pulled using a software and converter via an Arduino code to drive the gauges via a PWM signal. Which is a bit easy for beginners.
But the cluster you have from VW Golf 4 is a CAN bus based and you will need to find the CAN bus codes. You might have some luck finding them in VW car forums. Currently I’m only working on a BMW E46 can bus based cluster. So, I’ll not be able to help you out much since I don’t have a VW golf cluster with me. Also the CAN bus codes are different for each vehicle I assume. But this particular project is based on VW Polo cluster, probably this might work or you can do a bit of mod to get your cluster up and running. This project has the code and wiring etc that you might find helpful for VW. Here is a link below to the project:

@@randomscience4k thank you times a million I extremely appreciate it, you have no idea :D got the front half of a vw mk4 cut out just didnt realize that the mk4 cluster does indeed have a canbus. Noob mistake thinking it didnt without much of an display panel on the cluster itself so I just figured. Sweet I'm gunna put an order in you rock my man and thanks again
@@cobra3392 You are welcome! :)
I would recommend if you can find a BMW E36 or E34 or 30. That would be the best since these ones work flawlessly and has plenty of websites and videos on these out there on how to get them hooked with SIMhub or other simulation games. Moreover you will have more luck with getting a lot of dash lights working in these models than the Audi A4. Though I think the E36 would be a lot cheaper than the other two since it’s more easily available.
@@randomscience4k am going to get a canbus shield and code it for that I've a lot of the canbus coding for vw already so that's incredibly valuable. My main mistake is thinking it was a non canbus lmao. Not only have I seen videos of a functioning one, that tells me its doable and I'm one incredibly determined individual. The link you sent for the vw polo6 was very insightful and gave me enough to go off to get started :)
@@cobra3392 Good luck! Hopefully the codes for the Polo and Golf are similar so you don't have to rewrite it too much. Actually the CAN bus version is easier in terms of wiring since it's very few and you can control most of the dash lamps via software. Some dash lamps might be through K-Bus also I assume. Once you get how to add or modify the codes (some of them have very good documentation by the initial coders like the one I found for BMW E46 cluster).
Finally one, important thing. Even if you get a clone arduino mega/uno, make sure you get a good quality CAN shield from Seeed studio or Sparkfun. The cheap generic can bus shield can cause problems a lot of times. I have had issues where the shield initializes when the game starts for the E46 and then after like few seconds it fails. With good brands it's solid and less problematic.
Hi, can you send the wire connections diagram for this setup?
Thank you for watching! Please check this video as it has the diagram for this cluster. I plan to make a single code though later with one Arduino mega and control all the dash lights. Right now I’m trying to get another cluster with CAN bus working. Once it’s finished I’ll try to look into this.

Hi,
I’ve now update the code for a single Arduino UNO/Mega to handle both the dash lights and the cluster gauges. Also I’ve attached a pinout diagram for both Arduino types to help better understand.
Hi, can you send Wire Diagram for Audi a4 b6
The b6 model I believe is the one with digital lcd for the info at center of cluster right? That model has CAN I believe and may not run with my setup as it uses the older non can model.

Hello, where can I get a free code for the Audi A4 B5 facelift?
Hi, cluster here is only for the pre-2000 model that is analog type. The code for it is below in description. The 2000 and later models have two can bus and you need to find the IDs and make a code for it. Unfortunately I don’t have the cluster or can IDs for it. I believe the clock in your cluster is a digital one?

how to wire?
Did you ever figure out how to fix the speedo issue where it jumps or goes down with the stupid tone function that simhub uses?
Unfortunately, I do not have the Audi cluster with me anymore to verify it even if I did some tweaking.
Hello, I have the cluster of the same audi a4, my problem is that I have connected everything and only the temperature servo works, the rest does not work if you could help me by explaining how you connected it or send me the diagram I would be very grateful and of course you would have my like and another subscriber thank you
Hi there,
I have currently only added a pictorial representation in the videos for the Audi because I do not have the entire electrical manual. Unfortunately the Audi manual isn't very useful with just one or two pages and requires multiple pages to fit all the pieces and understand the wiring for the cluster. Which is why I left it to the user. I'll try to draw a circuit diagram and post it here on the channel later.
Keep in mind the dash lights are driven by a separate code on a separate Arduino UNO and the gauges are driven by a second Uno with the setup tool in simhub. You can combine the code if you have the coding knowledge. I have been a bit busy and yet to work on the code to combine it together for a single Arduino mega.
Please cluster pinout
Depends on the model year you are using. Here is a link below to the Audi service manual containing the pinout for various years. Check from page 307
